As Cyrus left the pokemon center and headed out of town, Argo rejoined him, landing on his shoulder with a pokeball in his mouth. Which he had to trade some of his sandwich for to get. "Hm. Let's see what you managed to snag..." Cyrus commented, finishing what he wanted of the sandwich before giving the rest to his bird companion. Argo ate the sandwich happily, throwing it to the back of his throat. The dark skinned male let out the the pokemon, finding that it was some kind of dragon pokemon. Axew, right? It seemed to be in good shape, but also a bit confused. "You belong to me now. So get used to it." he told the pokemon, then returned it to it's ball before putting it in one of his pouches. Rita stared disapprovingly, but sighed and moved to guide her trainer towards mount moon.

Returning his fainted Onix, Brock offered Simon a smile. It was a pretty good battle, and the badge was earned. "Congratulations! Here you are. You earned this." he told Simon, handing over the badge and tm. Once that was done, the gym leader went to the back of the gym to heal up his pokemon.

The gym leader stepped over, hands on his hips as he appraised the young man. What enthusiasm! "Umkhaya Wedwa, hm...? That sounds familiar," he commented, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "I think I've heard of them. They've settled somewhere near here a few times, haven't they?" He pondered it a moment, but then reached back for his pokeball, giving a smile. "Well, it's good to meet you, Mitsukini! I'm always ready for a new challenge!" he greeted back, releasing his first pokemon, his trusty Geodude.

Brock straightened, then gave an uncertain, nervous sort of smile and rubbed the back of his neck. Cutie? "I'm... I'm sure you will," he replied. He wasn't really sure how to take that! He'd never really had a guy flirt with him before... Especially not during a battle. He shook his head, trying to shake off the feeling, and focused on the battle. "Quick, Geodude! Get in there with a Rock Throw!" he instructed immediately, as Mitsu's pokemon dashed into action. They were about the same level-- but unfortunately, regardless of the speed with which Geodude moved, the Ice attack was faster, and he threw his arms up in surprise, trying to defend himself. He shook his head, trying to recompose himself, then quickly moved into action, carrying out the instructions his gym leader had given him.

Looked like Brock wasn't used to guys hitting on him. At least he wasn't a jerk. Mitsu watched as Brock and Geodude tried to attack first, but the shear speed of Ice Shard combined with Rao striking immediately was too much for him. Poor Geodude. Well, he got his revenge regardless with Rock Throw, which did a lot of damage to here. Too bad Cursed Body didn't take effect. Maybe during the next move."I'm still new to battling, so I'm not taking any chances. Brock nodded, hand held thoughtfully to his chin. "I don't blame you," he admitted thoughtfully, "With both pokemon holding type advantages, you need to take as many shots as often as you can, and do as much damage while you can." He didn't sound like he was trying to give a lesson-- it seemed more like he was musing to himself, thinking allowed and voicing his agreement.
Geodude was still recovering a bit, it seemed, from Rao's little flirting, huffing a bit after he'd given his attack. He seemed just as uncertain as to what to do as his trainer had! His eyes widened, though, as another attack flew at him, and again he raised his arms. But the attack was too much, and after taking it, he landed solidly on the ground with a thud, clearly out cold. Brock gave an approving but solemn nod. "You've trained your pokemon well, Mitsu. You did good, though, Geodude. You've earned a rest." He returned the pokemon, grabbing his next. "Alright, Onix, it's your turn!" he called, sending the large, towering pokemon out.

Yes! One Pokémon down and out! Rao was looking weak, but he could tell she wasn't going to retreat. Maybe they'd get lucky and Curse Body would negate Onix's attacks at least once."Okay, Rao. Onix is stronger than you, but Ice Shard should weaken him. Can you manage?""Fros!"Rao was fearless....Mitsu would have retreated if he had been as hurt as she was right now. But, he understood Rao wasn't a coward. She was more than willing to kamikaze through the battle. Which was a bit of an extreme term, but it fit Rao's determination perfectly regardless.

Brock bowed his head a bit as Mitsu stuck with his pokemon. Tenacious... "Brace yourself, Onix, and use Rock Tomb as soon as you get the chance!" he instructed. Ice Shard was too fast, he knew that they wouldn't be able to knock the opponent out before it could land a hit, but at the very least they could bring it down after.

Brock observed the pokemon that was sent out with some degree of impressed surprise. What an interesting design... "Alright Onix, let's go with Tackle!" he started off, folding his arms over his chest as he regarded the pokemon. Onix still had some amount of health left... but if the opponent dealt a hard blow, he wouldn't have his Sturdy ability to keep him from fainting now that he'd taken a hit.
