The Evil of Ravenholm - Chapter 2: The Ashen Mountains

Hars cares not what the poo came from. Until it sprouts blades and tries to fight her she shies away from it.

Grashuk agrees with Hars. Keeping his sword and shield in hand, he strode across the room defiantly, ready to defend himself against anything that threw itself at him.

After another glance, it appears that the only thing of interest in the room is the trapdoor in the center...

As Cain examines the source of the smell and the others determine that the empty, enclosed room is in fact empty and enclosed, Gerash stands at the entrance, waiting for someone to lead the way deeper in. When no one seems willing to he rolls his eyes and with a flick of his wrist, a phantasmal hand forms over the trap door and lifts it open, "Gentlemen," he addresses the group, despite Hars's current gender, "after you."

Nodding thanks to Gerash, Grashuk strode to the trapdoor. Although his role wasn't quite frontman, he still preferred to be the first into a combat situation. Probably the Bugbear blood coursing through his veins.

He took a cursory examination of the hole down, and would use a ladder if he should find one, or just jump down if not.

With the hep of Gerash's magic, the large trapdoor creaks open and then is neatly placed on the floor. You can tell it has been opened recently, since there is little to no dust disturbed by your actions. Despite this, when Grashuk has a look down into the dark vertical shoot, he sees that the ladder is old and worn, although it should still be sturdy enough for you guys. Grashuk makes the first move and begins to descend, the ladder moaning in dissent. It is only a short climb, and Grashuk has reached the bottom before Daelos begins his descent after the Bugbear. Looking around, the Warlord can see not much except for a cramped passageway, dimly lit by very few torches, it seems to go on forever. You will have to step a few paces along it to allow everyone to get down the ladder. The walls here are very dry and cracked, they seem to be ancient too.

As long as there are no objections, I assume everyone follows Grashuk and Daelos down the ladder.

Gerash will be the last down the ladder, illuminating his orb with pale white radiance if no one else is eager to supply a light. However, he doesn't raise the ball, continuing to cradle it low in his palm and casting long shadows around the corridor.

Hars descends after Daelos and stands ready, her blades drawn.

Throughout everyone's descent, the ladder creaked and groaned more and more, until finally when Gerash was just about to place his feet on the ground at the bottom, it crumbled and broke into pieces. Gerash suffers no ill effects from the destruction of the ladder, but you can no longer climb back up it.

I assume you head on down the passageway?

Well, we ain't heading back up. Hars leads the ways down the passageway, producing her lantern after sheathing her off-hand blade and magically lighting it.

Pelloth would actually shy away from Hars at this point. He found that suiting his heritage and chosen path in life, he not only did better in the dark, he preferred it, seeing as clearly as a lighted day.

And so the six of you walked down the cramped passageway. On the way you see baby Kruthiks scuttling around, but nothing sizeable enough to bother you. The journey goes on for about 15 minutes, the passageway not changing except for minor details. But eventually you come to a T-Junction, left or right? They both look the same.

As the group made their way down the tunnel, Cain laughed heatedly at the young Kruthiks. He'd never actually been below the earth before, so these small beasts were entirely new to him. He picked up one of the little monsters off of the wall and started to play with it. The group had stopped before a t-junction, but the Kenku was far more interested in this strange little creature.

"Look at it's skinny legs!" He squawked excitedly to his compainions.

The small Kruthik crawls over Cain's feathery hands, making 'chit chit chit' noises. Gerash knows all there is to know about Kruthiks, (if you wish to make a big speech on them, be my guest and use all the ins and outs).
