"Geeze, that was fast. You not get enough sleep either?" Van said surprised as he looked from Larai's suddenly empty plate to Larai.

"I tried to sleep, but Kai's snoring kept waking me up." Larai whined softly.

"Hey, I do not snore!" Kai protested. "Not unless I have a cold anyway..."
((I can relate to this. I went to science camp with a cold way back in the fifth grade and everyone kept waking me up in the middle of the night because my stuffy nose sounded like snoring, something I otherwise never do. It sucked. XP ))

{Ouch. >.<}
"You wouldn't know because you aren't the one that has to suffer through it." Larai said easilly, sticking out her tongue at him.

"Break it up you two." Van said getting up to bring Larai's plate back to the kitchen. "You can go back to bed, but don't sleep for too long or your sleep schedule will be all out of whack."

"Thank you, daddy. It'll only be for a little longer, I promise." Larai said with a broad grin before leaving the table to go back up to bed to regain some of the rest she lost out on.

"I will never understand how you two wound up being total opposites." Van said shaking his head with an amused sigh in reference to Kai.

"I'm finished too, can I go play now?" Kai asked once he'd finished his meal. What he really wanted to do though was keep an eye on the demon.

Mala nodded in approval. "I don't see why not, so long as you don't blow anything up."

"Thanks mom!" Kai said as he hopped out of his chair and ran out the door.
"Sometimes that boy just has way too much energy." Van said taking in the last of the empty plates.

"True. Although it just means he has all that more life tucked away inside him." Mala replied, a warm smile stubbornly sticking to her lips as she watched Kai run off.

"Our kids are probably going to live forever anyway, I don't think he needs the extra energy." Van said with a chuckle.
Kai, meanwhile was running through the ruins trying to remember which pile of rubble housed the demon his sister had been healing.
((I feel bad, I can't think of anything to do with Skye in Doomsday. v.v))

{Want to have her and Marie meet up somehow, leading to a comedic squabble?}
"Still, I wish some of his energy would rub off on Larai. She's always so quiet, so meek. It makes me worry." Mala said, smiling still.

"They've probably taken after us." Van said with a lighthearted chuckle. "We were a couple of opposites at first too, if you remember. Me the free spirit and you bound strictly by rules and morals. Now we've got an energetic troublemaker and a quiet nice girl."
"Now to what do I owe this little visit? I sincerely doubt you're here to heal me as well." Daemon said, sitting against a wall when Kai ran up.
"Fat chance, bat boy! I've got my eye on you, and if you try anything funny I'll call my mom and dad out here to kick your a** back to hell!"
