The attack worked! Salem had been able to slash effectively at the Ponyta this time! As his claws had dug into the pokemon's shoulder, a giant piece of flesh had fallen right off. Ugh, yuck! Disgusted, he was glad it hadn't stuck to his claws again. The Fennekin glanced at the blue flamed pokemon as suddenly several Ponyta emerged. The fur against his back fluffed up making the small fox look slightly bigger. What was that? Which was the real one? This could spell out trouble for him. Focusing intently, he glared at the Ponyta at the same moment that they moved to attack. He lunged left, trying to avoid the flame wheel charging towards him!
Aedan, on the other hand, could only watch frantically as the fire fox continued with the battle. This battling stuff was nerve wracking. Would they really become stronger because of this? No, he had to believe in his pokemon and hopefully all would work out!
A single girl, short hair, golden blond in color, sea green eyes, walked into the room that she had been directed to. She had on her one pokeball. She would be taking the battle test, or she assumed she would as this was the battle room. She closed her eyes and stopped about half way to the center of the room. She took in a deep breath and opened her eyes. "I am here for my entrance battle" She stated to no one, but still she stated it for all to hear. The girl held the ball in her hand and pressed its button anyways. She would prefer to have her pokemon out rather than it stay in the ball at this moment.
In a flash out popped a single bird pokemon. Wings spreading a little, the pokemon revealed was a Rufflet. The pokemon landed down on the ground and began to groom himself.
(My apologies for the sizeable delay. I've been suffering from severe computer troubles for quite some time now but finally seem to have it all sorted out.))

Unfortunately it would in fact not work out for the little Fennekin. Flame and hoof would beat against the Pokemon's fur as it was meant by the barrage of his opponent's attack. Were it not for his natural resistance to heat and flame the fox clearly would have been down for the count. As it was the beast had hung on by a thread, the Ponyta whom he faced merely snorting and darting off. Speed was his race's claim to fame, and without the weight of his head it would be even easier !
Grooming wouldn't do the bird much good however, as soon his feather's were likely to be as ruffled as it's species name implied! Darkness would spread out from the four corners of the room. Rather than the usual creeping shadows that most students encountered however the inky black would be tinged with purple, moving in at a swift pace in a spiral fashion. From within those shadows dozens of eyes would open, revealing a horde of ghastly, all of which would make ridiculous and horrifying faces at the girl and her Pokemon. They giggled like fiends, but that was nothing compared to...
"GWAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!" An outrageous cackle filled the air, and this time it was something every student was quite familiar with; but only a select few had ever seen what came next! The floor of the 'arena' turned blue, power condensing into a single point before a massive purple shaped burst through, claws outstretched as he called out in greeting "WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE!!! GWAHAHAHAHAHA!" The Pokemon called out with malicious glee "Prepared to meet your end child?" It was rare enough to see a talking Haunter, but it would seem this one was the test proctor!
Looking left then right, a chill washed over the area as a look of annoyance crossed the ghost's face. "Get out here you gluttonous buffoon!" He barked, and as if they'd been waiting for the cue a Munchlax would stumble in, stuffing his face with berries even as he rushed to the other-side of the battlefield.
"I tell you it's impossible to kill good help these days" The Haunter muttered before shifting his gaze to their latest arrival. Taking one disembodied hand the ghost would grab a vial of acid green liquid from somewhere off to the side and toss it to their latest arrival "Give this to your Pokemon if you want it to survive this little trial" He instructed casually before his maw split into an inhumanly wide grin "So....how much instruction will you require...or can we skip straight to the blood and gore!? GWAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!" Ther Pokemon cackled. Clearly he enjoyed his job a little too much for his or anyone else's own good.
Slow and cautious steps are heard as a young girl enters this place. Her eyes devoid of emotion at the moment. Her steps only cautious because she did not know if this was the right place. She looked down at her ball belt and wished she had somewhere else to put her pokeballs after all this was a redundant and horrible place to put a weapon it could easily be taken from her. She looked back up around the room and closes her eyes as she walked into the place completely. Without saying a word she stepped up to the line and tilted her head. She waited for a response and did not care if she got one that was friendly. Either way she was here to show her skills in battle even if it was with this tiny but type.
[OOC: I apologize for my late response had a lot of family troubles and also could not really think of a good enough post to begin.]
In an attempt to address the issues with the current EXP System, and perhaps revive the guild at a later date, I and my cohorts shall run a series of tests.
Test 1 -
EXP will now grow at a rate of 25 per level instead of the previous 100. EXP Shall be distributed using the MetalKid EXP Calculator. As per current method Test Subject A shall gain EXP as if she were holding a Lucky Egg (the method used to combat previous issues with the EXP system) and Subject B will gain EXP at the normal rate.
Both subjects will fight the same species and level of Pokemon each round in order to obtain accurate results. Thus like all such tests, we shall begin with a lab rat.

~ Test Subject B, be here or be square ~
A figure stumbled jerkily onto the stage, movements stiff and unnatural. Short and skinny, the ostensively female figure was clad in jeans and a hoodie, the latter of which was pulled hard over her head. If one looked closely, they would barely be able to make out bangs, and strangely enough, a rose woven into the stringy, matted hair.
Awkwardly, the figure yanked a Pokeball out of her pocket, and wordlessly summoned a small, strange ice monster. "Subject Bergmite. Defensive mode, activate."
The Bergmite, who was used to her trainer's bizarre actions, accepted the orders. She locked eyes with the rat she happened to be fighting, gave a polite nod, and sent herself rolling to the side.

Subject 2
With the release of the Bergmite a small cage door positioned in the floor would remotely unlatch, a small purple hued rodent crawling out from below. Sniffing the air tentatively, whiskers wiggling, the Rattata would give a violent sneeze; mysteriously lighting up like a neon sign as a result. Arceus only knew what experiments he'd been through before this confrontation.
">I JUST WANTED THE CHEESE ON THE LEFT! WAS THAT SO WRONG!?<" He cried balefully. The answer would come in the form of all the rodent's fur standing on end as a mild shock ran through his body. Snorting the Rattata would look ahead. Fine fine, always had to move forward with the test. Claws clacking across the floor the rodent would sprint across the battlefield, angling his head and shoulder to start of this fight with a Tackle attack!

13 > 6, Rat-trap Missed!
The Bergmite skittered easily out of the Rattata's reach. After all, she was quite literally numb. Numb in that she was an icy chunk of sharpnel, and numb in that she was no longer capable of reacting to odd, odd comments. And besides... weren't they all rats in the maze of life?
If Garden could have responded to her Pokemon's thoughts in a human manner, she would have rolled her eyes. As it was, all she could do was open the hole where a mouth sound be and bleated, "Subject Bergmite. Offensive mode, subroutine two, labelled "Bite"."
... and there was nothing at the end of that maze but another maze, and-- oh right, her Trainer. Jerking forward on all four pinpricks of legs, the Bergmite rushed at the Rattata, horrifying icy maw chomping up and down.

Subject 2
Tail curling farther than normal, the sporadically glowing rodent would press it close to his backside; should he need to kiss either or both goodbye keeping them close would be convenient. Then with all the output of an electrically powered motor the Rattata would turn about and dart off full speed. He wasn't gonna get sunk by this iceberg!

(17-13)+(8-7) = 5 DMG, Rat-trap at 8 HP, flinched ratty
Despite only questionably having a mouth, the Bergmite's bite would sink home into the Rattata's tender and fruity backside. Hmm, the spoils of battle... the Bergmite would hold on for just a bit longer than strictly necessary or appropriate (after all, it was the only warmth she would feel from another Pokemon for a very long time). But a blank order from her trainer would send the Bergmite skittering away, only to come back to Bite, and for another taste of what scientists are calling "dat a**".
A figure spun into the room, spinning in circles and wobbling slightly from side to side. Was that a Spinda?! As the figure turned around, it was obviously a girl dressed in a Spinda suit! Momo giggled and a Omanyte shuffled past her shaking his head.
>A hero's work is never done! One must always protect the weak and especially damsel's in distress!< the shelled pokemon proclaimed. Taking a defensive stance, he waited to see just what exactly his opponent would do!
">I AM NOT THE TITANIC<" The rodent would screech at the top of his mousy lungs. His but was sore, his ears tingled, and he was pretty sure urine wasn't supposed to come in prismatic...ok that last one was a problem for later but the point remained regardless! Cheese and whiskers enough was enough! Chittering like an angry Emolga, the Rattata would launch himself forward, theeth nashing. He was gonna turn this chunked ice into cubes with a Bite of his own! Unforunately he'd fall flat on his now lightbright-esque features as he abruptly flinched!

Subject 1
">Damsels in this dress? What are you a tailor?<" A high voice called from beneath a grate...no....a hatch! With a faint beep the electric lock would turn off, releasing the door and allowing the creature to shamble out. Whiskers oddly curled, the Rattata girl and Omanyte were faced with seemed a bit....twitchy. ">Not that....not that...not that...<" He hit his head against the floor ">notthatthere'sanythingwrongwithtailors!<" He spewed rapidly. A little shock at his ankle however would remind the rodent of the task at hand. Dashing forward the Rattata would aim to clamp down on the Omanyte's squishier parts with Bite!
The Omanyte felt almost sorry for the Rattata, seeing the pokemon was being forced into fighting. This was a mistake. The mouse bit deep into his shell causing a large crack to emerge and trickles of blood dripped from it. Ouch! Mistake number one. ">A hero must never let down his guard in front of the enemy!<" Moving forward, he aimed a aurora beam at his opponent! ">THE HERO MUST WIN AGAINST EVIL! <" he shouted! But just as he was about to shoot the beam, a tremor ran through his body and he FLINCHED. Unfortunately he was helpless and unable to move or even defend!
