That's just it. They don't. There's no way to defend yourself against them, because you never know when they're there. They look like darkness. Only the proper amount of mental protection can protect you, and the only person ever with the proper amount of mental protection is me. The only other way to protect yourself is to have the Ginko beside you at all times.

So these Tokoyami; they have an exterior comprised of some sort of material that either absorbs or refracts light energy in way that renders them as shadows to the naked eye?
