It wasn't much compared to what the to where accustomed two but it was better then a night in the Santalune woods that much was unquestionable. Emory hadn't spent a night under the stars in nearly ten years. It was something mom and dad had forbid upon her return not that she'd tried too or even wanted to again until recently. Emory insisted upon her own room forcing Viviette into a awkward position for someone of her profession. Emory was holding her ground on this out of principle. She wasn't defenseless and she didn't need anyone lording over her every movement to ensure her safety. It proved nothing of her character to allow Viviette to intrude upon her every waking moment from now on. She was a friend yes but she was an employee of her parent's first and under the direct charge of Emory. Emory spent a considerable amount of time brushing Ninetails, Lopunny and Flaffy before bed. This was a bit of a nightly retain for her that helped her cope with anxiety and stress not that today had brought either. After the trio were groomed Emory bedded down for the night leaving Ninetails out of her pokeball as was tradition. The canine brought a sense of protection she otherwise didn't have and of which eased her into slumber much better then without. Come morning after a hardy breakfast of brown sugar and cinnamon oat-meal served fresh by miss Viviette they where back on the road. today they where going to pass through the Santalune woods but first Emory was going to battle this Scatterbug that unwittingly wondered into her sights. Emory used Clefairy a pokemon whom could sense its trainers intentions so she didn't need to communicate her commands.

"Wow you've got a Clefairy. Those don't live in the Kalos your most be new here." Said a soft girly but still clearly male voice from beside her. Viviette and Emory turned as one in its direction to find a boy maybe around Emory's age but shorter and a little ambiguous in appearance. Vivitte was just about to inform the boy that Emory was unable to speak but Emory had already beaten her to the punch line. Raising her Tattoo'ed hand showing the "Im deaf" tattoo for the boy to clearly see. "Oh im sorry i uhhh" An awkward moment fell between the trio until Emory motioned towards Viviette by nodding at the boy and signing "translate please". Viviette gave a sharp half bow then took a step towards the boy standing sidelong between the pair so she could be heard clearly by the boy but still see Emory's hand motions. "I can translate."Viviette said gracefully motioning open palmed to Emory who promptly began signing "I lost my voice some time ago so i hope this is ok ? The boy scratched the back of his head. Its difficult to explain but its taken a lot of time and training to master and not every pokemon can do it iv only four capable of it. "Well mind if i see it in practice miss, can we have a battle ?"Emory cracked her knuckles making her answer clear. It been to long sense she'd had a battle and if she was going to get her footing back as a trainer she needed this practice. "Sweet. Lets go Chimchar" The boy said releasing the fire monkey pokemon but Emory didn't get chance to pick her pokemon before her new Chespin was erupting from its pokeball ready to prove its worth. Viviette giggled a little at the over eager pokemon. "Miss Emory is this acceptable ?" Viviette inquired. Emory took a moment but raised the "yes" tattooed on her hand. "Very well." Chespin turned back towards its trainer wanted a comment but Emory couldn't give one so she ony shrugged. This battle was up to the pokemon itself.

After getting over her initial confusion, Elizabeth noticed that the Dewgong was looking up at her, visibly tired like it had been swimming for a very long time. "Were you running away from something or someone?" she crouched down and asked the pokemon, curious. Then the Dewgong had nodded back to her, making her think that something scared her so much that they ran away or someone was trying to take her and ran away. That is terrible if someone was trying to steal a pokemon like this, but figured that people like Team Void do it all the time. "Would you like to come with me so you don't have to run away anymore?" Elizabeth had asked the Dewgong, feeling bad if she lets her keep running away only to eventually be taken when they can't run anymore. The pokemon thought about it before nodding back and happily crying which made her giggle. "Alright then. You can come with me. Elizabeth was very happy that she had gotten another new pokemon after shortly starting on her journey here in Kalos. She was excited to meet and catch many more of them, while getting to meet and battle other trainers and gym leaders as well. A region like this should be able to help her with getting a lot stronger, enough that she would be able to stand up and defeat Team Void. But now Elizabeth should get going and move on to her next destination, which should be Santalune Forest. So she stood back up and then headed out of the small town towards the forest.

It was mostly silence for the remainder of the walk from Vaniville to Aquacorde. It seemed that Ashley was too preoccupied with his own thoughts to continue the conversation concerning the Fennekin’s place on his team or what name might be suiting for it. Maybe that was what he was considering as they walked the straightforward path? Or maybe, something else was on his mind. The expression on his face was stern but ambiguous. There was really no telling.
But that was okay. The Fennekin used the silent walk to try and better assess the new man that would serve as his trainer. Beyond the rather importune health check, Ashley hadn’t given him much to go off of to give him a good judgement. So instead, he was left to rely on the inklings of his instincts.
They didn’t give him good vibes.
At least, they didn’t feel very good. He was use to the warm interactions of the professor and the aides in the lab. They just seemed generally friendly and caring and involved with the Fennekin. Ashley did not. At least, he hadn’t given him that impression just yet. He seemed far more distant in the care department and cooler in interaction. Analytical and focused; goal-oriented. Or something. This was just his intuition talking and the small feelings he was gathering as they walked. Which really, was quite a bit to gather though there seemed to be a bit more than what appeared on the surface. What was that exactly? The Fennekin wasn’t entirely sure.

"Ashley!" A voice suddenly chimed through the quiet, interrupting the Fennekin from his observations. It seemed to alert Ashley as well, his hand dropping away from his chin as his gaze averted in the direction of the voice. It wasn’t long before a petite figure rushed the man in question, her arms wrapping around him in joyous reunion. The Fennekin paused and plopped down to sit and watch the moment.
Ashley shifted to free up at least one arm, wrapping it around the form and giving the girl who was only about an inch shorter than himself, a half hug and a gentle pat on the back. "Salut Dandy. Comment ça va?” He inquired of his half-sister as they separated, once more adjusting his glasses. The young girl clasped her hands together as a pleasant smile spread across her face.
"Je vais bien! Et toi? Did you meet with zee professeur? You must tell me all about it!" Dandy began to chirp, rocking on the balls of her feet as she inquired about her half-brother’s small rendezvous. Her attention shifted to the fox pokemon seated only a foot or so behind though, hands flinging up to cover her mouth as she gave a surprised gasp. "Oh! I see you did get a Fennekin!" She dropped her hands and stepped around Ashley before he could remark, kneeling down immediately to greet the fox.
"Bonjour! You are quite zee cute one, no?" Dandy spoke in a welcoming tone, a genuine smile on her face. The Fennekin visibly relaxed at the warm greeting, head tilting to the side as he eyed the newcomer. She seemed akin to his trainer in a way; a sister? Though not… quite entirely. She certainly seemed a far warmer individual than the man. She didn’t hesitate in sweeping the fox up into her arms, giving him a little cuddle in the process. "Ah, you are zee soft one! And so cute!" Dandy nuzzled the fox gleefully earning a bit of a little welcoming ‘yip’ in turn. This was definitely a far different greeting than he’d gotten out of Ashley.

With Moyasu treated with the potion, Shinri returned to looking around town. He had to admit that human settlements were nice on the eyes. Not that he was dissing a family's cave; groups of Pokemon were a lot more sophisticated than people really knew. But, you wouldn't find bricked walls and stone streets in a Pokemon cave. Or, doors. Doors were definitely something only humans cared about. As he walked around, the three Pokemon following him, Shinri stopped and listened to a nearby conversation. The hell?
