(Very tempted to toss a sea monster of some kind into the mix to add to the reason the storm rose so quickly o.0. What you think?)

The storm continued to beat down upon the vessel as it was bashed with hard wind and rain. This continued for a few moments before the sea around the vessel suddenly calmed the sky above opening up to let in the sun shine again. It was like the eye of the storm. The storm outside of it still raged but currently neither wind nor rain fell upon the Pheonix. (Lol I know what I can do to little lightning thief idea came to mind. Little thing to get everyone wondering what is going on. )

For Ship and Sea! The crew looked around, confused by the sudden calm. Then a whisper started. "We've hit the Eye...never seen...too calm...no regular storm..." Jaqueline shared a look with the quartermaster. "Somethin's comin'."

"What wouldn't this just be you know a kind of eye of the storm kind of thing" Joesph asked soaking wet his clothing stuck to him along with his hair. "I mean it doesn't always have to be somethings com-" he stopped as a hard jerk shook the boat as the thief fell on his face to the deck. "Or we could have hit something" he muttered slowly getting back up rubbing his nose a bit. (Little more tension while I figure out what exactly to do.)

For Ship and Sea! Jaqueline shook her head slowly, then helped him to his feet. "The Eye's either worse'n the rest'a the storm or it's calm, but I ain't never seen a storm's Eye this calm. We're completely becalmed. Not even a breath'a air in the sails." She pointed to the giant lengths of canvas to prove her point.

Taking the help up Joseph looked around as he rubbed his head a bit. "This is why I don't like sailing" he muttered looking around trying to figure out what was going on. Reaching down and working on his ropes Joseph tried to losses them some then ropes having tightened while he was being thrashed around.
Another boat shaking thump shook the vessel as the ship seemed to suddenly lurch forwards several meters before again stopping.

For Ship and Sea! Jaqueline was thrown off-balance by the boat's sudden motion. She stumbled back and was steadied by the quartermaster. They shared another look: this one of fear. "That weren't a whale, cap'n. Whales're too peaceful." Jaqueline nodded, not wanting to think of what else was big enough to jostle a galleon like that. She knew instinctively that there was only one creature known to do that.
