This was going to be a long trek, Marx could tell. He scrunched up his face a bit as he started in through Santalune forest, Flygon squealing in surprise at the sudden obstacles she had to dodge in order to stay nearby and still in flight. Oddly enough, his energy wasn't quite as high as usual, and he wasn't jogging, but that was probably a good idea considering how far he had to go. He would likely get excited once he was closer, but for now... he had to try and make his way through the forest.
'Flygon, go up and make sure we're going the right way,' Felix instructed, and the dragon pokemon darted up, shoving her way through the tree branches and giving a call back down. Felix turned his head right and continued, Marx trailing along with his hands behind his head. It seemed his pokemon had the navigation down.

Marx took advantage of the opportunity to bring the Scatterbug off his shoulder and play with a bit, and actually managed to think to pull out his pokedex and check for its name as well. "Huh, Scatterbug... You know, there are a few pokemon kind of like you. Caterpie and Weedle in... Kanto, I think, and Hoenn has Wurmple. I actually caught one of those just before I came here," he remarked absently, rubbing the top of the bug pokemon's head. He looked up, lapsing into uncharacteristically thoughtful silence. So far he'd caught two out of three pokemon with his ranger gear... Was that good? Was there a way to get better? Probably just practice.... Now that he thought about it, he hadn't really done any missions, either.
Or practiced for contests.
Or trained. His pokemon were of decent levels, but he wasn't sure he was near taking on the next gym leader. He sighed, and the Scatterbug looked curiously up at him. Man, he really hoped he could get to his friends soon...

Scrunching up his nose, Marx could feel a couple of his ticks coming on, and he shifted the Scatterbug into one arm, tugging at his ear and shifting his weight, tapping his fingers a bit. He looked up, perking up at the sighting of an exit, a grin crossing his face. Yes! That meant he was going to reach the city soon! And once he was there, it was just a little ways more to reach Cyllage! He placed the Scatterbug on his shoulder, beaming and quickly picking up a jog, Felix bringing up his own pace to keep up with his trainer, with Flygon cooing happily up above, glad to be out of the tangle of trees.

It was unusual that Theo's family had ruled Tyvia since the kingdom was formed. But, very few coups ever happened, and the ones that did were caused by internal family struggles. Even Theo's great great great grandmother, the first queen to rule Tyvia without a king, had stolen the thrown from her own brother. So, it wasn't all that odd that only one bloodline had ruled."My favorite is the Time Of No Sun festival. It's amazing. It happens every ten years, so I've only seen it once, but the sun doesn't rise for three days straight. During this time, there's an amazing aurora show. It's beautiful. And, if you hike to the top of Whitecliffe's mountain, you can actually stand inside the auroras. I was only nine when it last happened, so my dad didn't let me go up to the mountain, but it's definitely on my bucket list. Could you imagine how magical that would be?"Talking about home made Theo happy, but it also made him sad. He missed home, but returning home wasn't something he could do yet.

Dumuzi gave his arm a little bit of a rub. ”If that happens, she’ll know who she can trust to come back to and if and when she does, we’ll all be there to help her out. It may not get rid of the scars, but it may help soothe the pain. Right now though, let’s not think of the worse and hope that they reunite so they can both be happy. Alright?” It was a touchy situation that Dumuzi knew nothing about, but if Mawile was to come back she was going to need people who could be a pillar of strength for her and that meant that they may need to be happy themselves so they could distract her from her sorrow. Theo would be able to relate to Mawile a lot better in this case than Dumuzi would have, so if Mawile did come back to him, he would be a damn good partner to help her get through all of that. Dumuzi was surprised to hear that there were a lot of festivals where Theo was, and the Festival that he was told about did capture his imagination. ”That does sound amazing! I don’t know if we have anything like that here that would compare. I hope that you’ll be able to see it someday, and if you do get the chance, you should take someone special with you so that you could woo them with the scenery. I bet they’d be putty in your hands at that point.” A sly little smile crossed his face, he was willing to be that any girl (or boy, Dumuzi supposed that Theo might be more interested in that and it would be hypocritical for Dumuzi say to anything against that) would be enthralled at the idea of standing in such a spectacle. He kind of wanted to see it himself, to be honest, maybe someday he could gather enough warm coats to go and visit Tyria where he could see the show himself, he didn’t need to stand inside the aurora, but he would love to see it. ”It definitely does sound magical, I won’t deny that.”

Dumuzi eyes widened a bit and his cheeks once again sported a soft red color. Dumuzi looked over at Theo with a bit of a disbelieving look on his face at what Theo suggested. He gave something of an amused look of disbelief when he brought up the inevitable point. ”You… do realized that you just implied that you have a romantic interest in me, right?” Oh dear, his mother was not going to be impressed on that one, her 13 year old baby being swooned by a tall, blonde and older stranger that he had just met a few days prior. Yeah, this may need to be labeled ‘Classified’ for the sake of Theo’s safety. Dumuzi grinned a bit, amused at the situation that Theo seemed to be implying, though normally he wouldn’t point out such things –more because he didn’t need to- he would have to point these things out because Theo might accidently say something to someone and get himself in a really awkward situation, or into some pretty hot water. Neither situation would be something that Theo would want himself to be in… and likely one that Dumuzi wouldn’t want to get in the middle of. When the topic of contests came up a soft smile cross his face, his eyes dropping to his silver little friend and he once more found himself stroking her course hair. ”Yeah, When I battled Viola at the gym, I discovered that I really wasn’t meant for battling. I just don’t get any enjoyment out of it, so Miss Viola suggested that I try contests instead. They really do seem a lot more fun to me, so I wanted to pursue them. Unfortunately, there are no contest circuits out here so I’ll have to head back to Hoenn in order to participate in them.” Dumuzi heaved a sigh and his shoulders slumped a little bit. ”I’ll try and collect my fairy type pokemon here and train them for the contests before I head back, but eventually I will have to go back, I’ll need to make sure that my pokemon don’t get too strong that they’ll disobey me, meaning I may have to take on a few more Gym leaders to make sure that they don’t get too unruly while I get ready.” Dumuzi looked up at Theo, an apologetic look on his face. ”So… sooner or later we’ll have to part ways while I go and do some contest circuits, just so my pokemon keep obeying me and I don’t have a riot on my hands.” Hopefully Theo would understand, so far, she got her first badge which bought her some time, but that also meant that she was also going to be crunched for time as well, seeing as Titania was getting to the point where it wouldn’t be long until she didn’t obey him anymore, and the others were probably not too far behind.

Why was Dumuzi blushing? Was it maybe too warm for him? If he was sick, Theo would need to step up to help him feel better. But, the younger male spoke all of a sudden. Hearing what was said, Theo panicked. He did!?"I, uh! I didn't....I mean, I'm sure you'd....Um...."Theo slumped in defeat, deciding it would be best to just stay quiet. If he said anything, it could turn extremely awkward for them both or even scare Dumuzi off. He stood up again as Dumuzi answered his question about contests. He really did look happy."...I never thought of battling as an enjoyable thing. I always saw it as a way for trainers to grow stronger with and understand their Pokémon. I mean, I don't get any particular joy from it at least. Besides, the Pokémon I have now all seem to prefer battling. If I ever caught a Pokémon that would rather perform, I would happily take on the contest circuit for them. Or, if I turned out to be horrible at it, find a reliable coordinator for them. Anyway....When we do part ways, I'll be sure to root for you. Heck, if I found out in time, I would even come watch your performances. I hope you and your team turn out really successful. I don't think there's any coordinators with full Fairy-type teams. One of the Kalos Gym Leaders is a Fairy trainer, though."Looking ahead, Theo spotted the exit of the forest. They were almost to Vaniville. He hoped his jinbei wasn't dirty or torn anywhere.

Dumuzi grinned, poor Theo, he was going to have a rough time with all of this. ”Oh my, what am I to do?” Dumuzi teased, raising a hand to place over his cheek and giving Theo a sly look through the corner of his eye. ”It seems our little Theo is growing up and starting to realize his tastes in partners, and he seems to lean towards the feminine boys. Maybe I should watch out from now on. All those honeyed words that you subtly suggested to me are true acts of seduction hidden behind a veil of innocence’s and ignorance, but really, you know what you’re doing.” The sly look only grew and Niamh seemed to giggle herself at the situation that Theo had found himself in. Dumuzi ruffled the fur on her head playfully and the Silver eevee purred, pushing her head upwards and wagging her tail. Dumuzi looked over at Theo when he mentioned that he didn’t really get any particular joy out of battling either. ”If you don’t enjoy it, then why pursue it? Apparently there are other options out there, you could be a Pokemon Ranger… I have no idea what it means to be one, but I’m sure we could find someone who could tell you about it. Maybe it could be something that you really enjoy if Contests don’t seem to be your thing and being a Pokemon Trainer doesn’t make you feel happy.” Dumuzi could practically feel her features become Viola’s at this point, but wisdom passed onto someone else was just as good as your own wisdom being passed on to a friend. Dumuzi’s face softened. ”Well, if you are interested in contests, let me know and I can hook you up with Taz, he’s the boy that was helping me, maybe if he set up a mock contest for you, you could decide if it’s right for you or if you truly don’t have a taste for it. I don’t think I could help you with the Pokemon ranger thing, but… maybe Professor Sycamore might know who can help you with that!” Now there was an idea, with the Professors knowledge and connections, he would be able to help for sure if that was something that Theo was interested in. ”And I would love for you to come and see me perform sometime. I can try and keep you updated about that stuff, if and when we part ways, and if you have a chance you can come and see me.” It made Dumuzi kind of happy to have Theo rooting for her already, between him and Taz, Dumuzi was getting more and more eager to try this out. He did need to get a team first. He was comfortable with Vivienne and her move set, so he didn’t think he would change that around too much, but the rest of his pokemon, he wasn’t so sure about and he would need to work on them for sure and figure out where they were going to fit in all of this. Dumuzi’s eyes lit up a bit at the mention of another Fairy type trainer in Kalos. ”Really? I would love to meet her sometime. If anything just to sit down and talk with her a bit.
