- The Admin just smirked as he returned the roasted bird. If he was taking this seriously, then it certainly didn’t show. “You’ve got quite the strong pokemon there. It’s a shame really.”
Ashley just stared blankly. It was evident from his face that he wasn’t amused by the battle going on in front of him, or any more amused by the next pokemon that the Admin sent out.

- "Forgive me monsieur, but is it possible that you could take this battle seriously?" Ashley chimed as the Admin swapped out the fallen Munchlax for a Skiploom. Alphonse seemed to take over commanding the battles at this point, glancing back and gesturing Bastien to take on this one instead of himself, giving an agitated looking Ashley only a minor glance.
The Fennekin glanced between the two, noting that his trainer didn’t seem to really care much who went out to battle. Actually, he just looked annoyed. And maybe bored? These pokemon weren’t much of a challenge and if the green floating flower thing was any proof, they didn’t seem like much of a threat. A moment or so of thought and the fox took up his place to battle at the Audino’s request. He could certainly do this.

- For a moment it felt fairly evident that the Admin wasn’t going to take the fight seriously. The smug grin and lack of expression as his pokemon were all but one-shot pretty much confirmed this suspicion.
How ******** boring. Was the only thought that ran through Ashley’s head as he waited for the bald man to send out yet another poemon, perking up just a bit when he realized that it was a Druddigon. Okay well now that had potential. Alphonse seemed to take notice as well, ushering Bastien back and stepping up to the field once more. Bastien was grateful for that; he didn’t want to admit it but the looming form of the dragon-type was rather intimidating…

- …For all ten seconds that it was standing. It was rather shocking how a single blast of rainbow lights was enough to send it plummeting to the ground. Even Alphonse seemed unimpressed. Druddigon’s were supposed to be scary, ferocious creatures.
This one apparently never got the memo. With that dragon down though and if Ashley had been keeping proper count, that meant there was only a single pokemon left to challenge (assuming this b*****d had a full team) and of course, without hesitation the man sent out a Meganium, the fully evolved form of Chikorita. Ashley didn’t bother to pay attention at this point, once more allowing Alphonse to direct Bastien to attack.
If anything it was good at least that his newly acquired starter was getting a chance to participate in the fighting. That was… one up side, he supposed. Also it would be over soon, which was probably what he was really looking forward too.

- And just like that, the battle was finally over. The Admin finally seemed to understand the situation for what it was, a frown finally cracking that ambiguous expression he’d had the entire time. The two grunts seemed exasperated at the outcome, the one near the drill slumping, the stern one tensing even further.
"Fait chier." Ashley grumbled as he practically ripped his glasses off his face and rubbed his eyes. That was just stupid. Stupid and tedious. Embarrassingly so.
“Seems like you’ve got yourself a rather powerful Audino.” The Admin finally spoke up, arms folding over his chest as he eyed Ashley and Alphonse. The Frenchman scowled, glaring at the Admin. He almost wanted to be offended by the man’s attitude and complete disregard for the time he’d just wasted. Or maybe he didn’t care.
"Oui." Was Ashley’s curt response. Taking a moment to clean off his glasses, he set them back on his face and met the Flare minions with an unenthused look. He knelt down and retrieved his case in hand. "If you excuse me, I will be reporting you and your pathetic minions to zee local authorities."
“What?!” The stern Grunt suddenly shouted, immediately stepping forward before even the Admin had a chance to speak. “What makes you think we’ll let you do that?! There’s so stopping Team Flare!”
"Ta gueule." Ashley snapped immediately. "You have wasted enough of my time with your pathetic antics. If you think that I will be letting you off scot free from these shenanigans then you are sadly mistaken." He adjusted the case in his hand, stepping back still with an agitated look on his face.

"Va te faire enculer!" Ashley snapped. "You and your organization are pathetic. A ******** waste of space and time. I am insulted that you are zee criminals of Kalos. A group of Bidoofs would be far more formidable. You should be ashamed of your existence." He turned on a heel, preparing to just straight walk away. "Cette merde taureau..." - Of course, the Flare members seemed serious in their claims that Ashley wouldn’t be informing any form of authorities about their illegal operations. The stern grunt took another step forward ready to give chase before the Admin extended an arm to stop him. The bald-headed man turned to address the other man still handling the drill.
With a silent form of communication, the grunt nodded and immediately turned to the mining tool from before, turning it back on at top power. Ashley winced as the cave exploded in a cacophony of noise, glaring at the grunts and the admin. It wasn’t long though before his attention shifted to the crumbling infrastructure around him. The drill was causing a shake up and there was dust and debris becoming dislodged. It started off small, but quickly escalated to bigger concerns.
That wasn’t good.
"Merde!" Ashley swore, immediately side stepping as a golf-ball size of falling debris fell just from above him. Alphonse moved as well, shuffling close to Bastien to keep him from getting clobbered. The ground was shaking wildly as well, which made maintaining one’s footing and dodging all the more difficult. Ashley’s focus shifted to not being hit, only glancing to see what the Flare bastards were up too. They seemed to equally be struggling to avoid the trouble they’d created. What was the purpose of this nonsense? Had they even thought this through?
There really wasn’t time to worry about that. It was starting to get even rougher. He was ducking and weaving now in an attempt to avoid harm and not hit the floor. Unfortunately, whatever fortune happened to be blessing him in those moments had faded.
Ashley’s heel caught in a newly formed crack and he lost his balance, dropping to a knee. With a hiss he tried to quickly push himself back up, but before he could manage a proper sized chunk of rock dislodged and fell, taking advantage of Ashley’s mistake of looking up and properly clocked him in the side of the head.

- Ashley groaned as he slowly came to, immediately wincing as a sharp pain blossomed across his right cheek. It was blurry, horrifically so and it didn’t take him but a second to realize that he wasn’t wearing his glasses, though blindness didn’t dim the fact that a portion of his face hurt. What the hell had happened? He was having a hard time remembering.
"Audino." Alphonse’s voice pierced through the blurry darkness from right beside him and the Frenchman turned his head just a bit so that the dim-blurry white figure was obvious. A little squinting and he noted that the mega was offering him something and on instinct he reached out and gently took the glasses. "Merci Alphonse." With his free arm he managed to push himself up to a sitting position, still wincing as he raised a hand to gently brush across his cheek. It was a bit swollen, which meant it would probably bruise. Apparently that rock had gone and hit him a lot harder than he’d expected. Enough to knock him out.
How rude.
"Hmph." He scowled just a bit, unfolding his glasses and making to gently put them on his face. Unfortunately the wound rested right in line with the bottom of the thick frames and he felt the pressure of the injury which made him all the more agitated. He’d need to get this iced and treated rather quickly before it became some hideous mess.
With his vision at least restored, Ashley got to his feet swatting the dust from his clothes as he surveyed the situation. The Flare grunts and their administrator were gone as was the mining equipment. The project had been promptly abandoned it seemed with his intrusion which was just enough to make him not entirely mad about being knocked the ******** out and his clothes made dirty. Almost.
With a sigh, he adjusted his glasses –something he quickly regretted- before retrieving his items. Alphonse had done well to move them off and away from his person just in case which was perfectly fine. -

As he retrieved his stuff a little shuffle and soft yip caught Ashley’s attention. He quirked an eyebrow and looked over to see Bastien with a concerned look clearly etched across his face. The small fox was shifting from paw to paw as he watched his trainer nervously, seeming uncertain how to approach. It was obvious he was worried, though whether Ashley recognized that or not, Bastien didn’t know.
Ashley adjusted his glasses again –flinching in the process- before kneeling down and gently placing a hand on top of the fox’s head. The Fennekin looked up but wasn’t comforted much as his trainer’s expression remained in ambiguous agitation. It was pretty obvious that he wasn’t pleased about everything that went down but… he wasn’t going to lash out at him or anything was he?
"Fen…?" Bastien inquired meekly, watching his trainer curiously as he tried to judge what the man was feeling. The Frenchman just kept a hand gently patting the pokemon on the head silently.
"Je vais bien." He murmured, eyeing the Fennekin over. Once he was certain that he wasn’t injured he did the same with Alphonse, looking the Audino over briefly as well. Both pokemon seemed to be alright, though a visit to the pokemon center was still in order for good measure.
Standing up, Ashley received his case and after one more wince, he started his way back through the cave to the main tunnel. It was time to get the hell out of here. -

Finally Elizabeth had made it to the Connection Cave as she then walked into the cave. She was surprised by how dark it was in here, shivering a little bit. Okay, she should probably get through this cave as quickly as possible, wanting to get to the next city soon. So she started walking forward, glancing around and keeping an eye on her surroundings. But then suddenly one of her pokeballs shook and Ash ended up coming out, in front of her. "Ash? What are you doing out of your pokeball? You need to stay in your pokeball." Elizabeth had said, taking the pokeball and going to return the Litwick back. Instead Ash was dodging it, shaking his head and sticking his tongue out before running off. "Ash! Get back here!!" she yelled when she saw as the Litwick suddenly ran off deeper into the cave. So she sighed, reluctantly running after the other pokemon and thinking that she doesn't have the time for this.

So Elizabeth was chasing down the Litwick in the dark cave, able to vaguely tell where it was going due to their flame. But the pokemon was so small and clever that every time she gets close, they manage to slip right past her. She sighed, thinking of how she can stop the Litwick from running off before getting an idea. Then she took out a pokeball and let out Camellia, who was surprised as she looked around. "Camellia, help me chase down Ash so I can get him back into his pokeball." Elizabeth had said to the pokemon, who nodded back in agreement to that. So she ran after Litwick while Camellia went in the opposite direction, finally catching up to them. But then the Litwick slipped by, running off again before shortly seeing that Camellia was blocking their way. Elizabeth then came from behind, returning the Litwick to his pokeball right when he had looked behind him and saw her there.

Elizabeth let out a sigh of relief, glad to have finally returned Ash back into his pokeball at least. "Thanks for helping me out, Camellia." she said to the other who was nodding and smiling back. Then she had returned Camellia back to her pokeball again, ready to go. Finally they would be out of this cave and onto their next destination where the next gym is at. So she started walking through the cave, taking a little longer since chasing after Ash had gotten her off the proper path. But it did not take that long at all as Elizabeth could see the light at the end of this, walking through it.

As the cave grew closer Olivia stopped about halfway there, as a Bergmite came crawling out onto the walkway, attracted by the ice incense. Elgyem paused only long enough to look over the pokemon before she turned to Olivia and gave a nod, a silent indication for her to capture this one as well. Understanding the pinkette allowed Pichu to go ahead, taking hold of her ukulele when she was handed it.

Moving into the cave, Vince attempted to pursue the interesting dragon he'd summoned from the book. Sure he probably could have just summoned another one and not let it run away, but somehow he felt drawn to this one. It was his responsibility, since he was the one who summoned it, so he wasn't just going to let it run off. "Xiu, can you sense it?" He asked, glancing to the lupup curiously. It was so dark, and he'd quickly lost sight of the dragon unfortunately, but he wasn't going to give up so easily. Xiu Feng sniffed along the ground, catching scent of the foreign pokemon and yipping affirmatively as she began to lead Vince deeper into the cave. However, they weren't the only ones in pursuit of the dragon. The ghoizard in Vince's bag had let itself out when it had sensed the familiar dark, damp conditions of the cave they were in. It didn't care that Vince wasn't aware of it's presence, or that he was running off in another direction. Instead, it felt attracted to the negative feelings radiating from the other side of the cave wall, so it easily slipped right through, being such a small, frail ghostly spirit.
On the other side, it saw the jangmo-o that Vince was pursuing. The pokemon radiated delicious feelings of fear, anger, sadness. "Ssssuch a poor lossst ssssoul...." He hissed, inhaling deeply. The ghoizards dark, empty eyes stared straight through the dragon, who lashed out uselessly with a tackle, phasing right through the ghoizard. "Are you sssure you're in a posssition to attack random sssstrangersss...?" He chuckled darkly, sapping some of the jangamo-o's strength with a night shade. "Really, I'm doing you a favor here, putting you out of your missssssery....." He pointed out as the jangmo-o struggled helplessly in this slow and futile battle. He couldn't do a thing against the ghoizard, and while it's night shade attacks did very little damage, slowly but surely they began to take their toll, a sadistic way of finishing the dragon, but effective. The ghoizard drank in the emotions the torture brought, but just as he was about to finish the Jangmo-o, Vince and Xiu Feng finally caught up. "What....?" Vince was stunned to see the jangmo-o already laying on the floor in defeat, and his ghoizard continuing to torment it and slowly sap away it's energy. "No, stop!" Vince growled, running over and taking the jangmo-o up in his arms. It was really in critical condition.... The ghoizard hissed disapprovingly, sinking back into the shadows somewhat as Vince intervened with his meal, but Vince captured the Jangmo-o to conserve what little energy it had left. He would get it to a pokemon center soon, but for now, in order to do that, he needed to get out of this cave.

With the capture and transfer squared away Olivia looked around, waiting to see if another pokemon would appear, then continued on when nothing happened. Elgyem took the lead, keeping a tight hold on the incense, but a few minutes in to entering the cave she stopped and peered out into the darkness. "If you have a fire type, I suggest you take it out now," she advised. Olivia had enough time to heed the psychic's words and send out Cayenne before a Sandshrew came running at them, though it was... much different from what the pinkette was used to. With a happy squeak Cayenne met the pokemon with a Flame Wheel, instantly taking care of the pokemon, and freeing Olivia to capture it, which... proved far more difficult than previous captures, as it took three tries before the pokemon finally gave in. "Your accuracy is suffering, perhaps due to the lack of light," Elgyem observed, not rudely... just matter-of-factly.
