3.5 The Black Hand...

Zakir sighed and shook his head, "I am not saying the way you sound is odd. I am saying the words you speak are," he responds, rubbing his temples lightly, "You use words we do not have. This United States of America you speak of, we've heard of no such thing. We do not even know what it is, let alone what it means. You are strange to these lands, yes, so you must learn to speak with our words. otherwise, you shall be treated harshly, and even all the sweet talking in this world could not change that."

"Thats a bit harsh dont you think the only reason we hate him is because he picks to many fights" Rei said in a chearful tone

"I am not speaking of us," Zakir says, turning to Rei, "Those who are different are treated with disdain and scorn. Hated and reviled. I know first hand how that feels," he says, not wanting to really go into his past. "He will need friends in all places in order to figure out to return to where he comes from. He won't make those friends if he speaks so strangely and otherworldly."

"Perhaps you are right" Rei shrugged "Ill teach him grammar lessons"

"More than that," Zakir says, shaking his head lightly, putting his hand on Rei's shoulder. "He will need a full lesson in common if he is to pass off as someone reasonable here. He will need to know everythign that he does not. We will teach him as the time comes for it, but for now, we must make haste. We've not long to arrive at our destination and bring everyone up to speed on what we are doing."

If and only if he knows it is safe, Drebins gives a soft whistle and with many a flirt and flutter, a small creature comes to rest on Drebins's head. The creature in question looks very much like someone had combined a human female with a blue-purple bat.

Jormund would find a place to view the town then proceed to wait for the rest of the group that decided to have a big old fight and conversation instead of keep moving.

When they were to arrive, the serpentine creature would nod in acknowledgment. "The brands? Are they of magical nature or have you checked yet?"

Zakir knew he wasn't going to win in a foot race against this girl. She was obviously a truenamer, by her powers displayed. He couldn't keep up with her now that she had done as he figured she would. He merely followed after at his own pace, faster than normal due to his training, but still, rather leisurely compared to Rei's at the moment.

Rei laughed as the wind blew through her hair. This was her favorite utterance, It gave her neither strength nor healing to her it gave freedom, the ability to run from any problem she might face she could even run up walls if she wanted to. 'I hope there arent that many children there' She thought

"The best way to deal with weak links is to remove them." Erasgul growled at the human. "The others may be willing to go easy on you, doing their best not to kill you. But if you don't learn to shut that annoying chattering, I won't go easy."

He hastened to get to the slaughter. It had been months since he'd gotten to murder 'innocent' creatures.

"Far as I can tell, they are not magical in nature. That alone presents an interesting question. If these brands are not magical, outside of mundane trackers, who is to say that a mutilated corpse cannot be a fallen?"

"Get over yourself," David said in deadly serious tone of voice, completely different from his earlier tone, "and take a bath."

He jogged to the village, or really able to keep pace with the monk and that wizard or whatever that girl was.

"Pfft. Grammar."

He just stared at the man pondering about corpses. "If they are not magical... and can be... healed so that they do not exist to be used something to be tracked... could we not instead leave instead of dealing with the horrible task they said we should do?"

Pending Drebins investigations of the brand, it appears to be a glyph a wizard might use to hide a spell. Beyond it's appearance, it doesn't appear to be magical in nature.

Eve only stood by and watched the fight take place. The only thing she bought to her hand was a bright orange vial. That once the fight was over she slid back up her sleeve, and walked into the prison, without answering David's last questions.

The dirt road cut though a lush forest. The sounds of the local wild life and the wind blowing though the trees, blocked all but the loudest screams from the prisons. Soon, a new smell over took your noses. The smell of burning coal and of baking bread.The dirt turns into cobble streets and in your vision you could make out what appeared to be buildings. It was only a few more minutes away, the town. Right where Eve said it would be. And with the sun's location in the sky, You had only a few hours before sundown.
