Nick paced around a bit after his vlog, well aware of how Isolde kept watching him. He looked up as he heard the bathroom door open, Leona stepping out with her head held high. "Ah, frau-" he had started to speak, but was cut off as their eyes met and she spoke to him through grit teeth. The author swallowed the rest of his sentence and gave a nod as she left for the cafeteria. That was tense. But also rather expected. He still needed to clean himself up and make a call to Mallory, so it would hopefully mean that Leona would have a bit of time out, eating and calming down. With a sigh, he pulled up his coil, preparing to call his publicist, when he noticed that he had gotten a response from Tamara. He got to work on a reply, perhaps procrastinating contacting Mallory just a little bit more.
Text to Tamara: Ah, I sympathize with you for knowing how this sort of attention from the media can be. Thank you. I will let her know. She has emerged to get breakfast, so hopefully things will be looking up. - Nikolaus
After he sent his message, he took a deep breath and called Mallory. As expected, it was not a very pleasant conversation. As she yelled at him through the phone, he continued to apologize, pleading with her to calm down. Once Mal had gotten her yelling out of her system, Nick asked her if there was anything she could do about the headlines. She said he'd owe her big time, but that she'd try and see if she could get things pulled. On that much more gentle note, the call ended.
Viktoria had made herself comfortable once more on Nick's bed as he disappeared into the bathroom, tending to his grooming needs. The little snow fox dozed off, curled up with her tails covering her nose. After showering and completing his normal morning routine, Nick emerged wrapped in a towel. He had forgotten to bring in his clothes, after all. Not that it mattered, since Leona was still out in the cafeteria. After going into his bag, he pulled out a more casual outfit, one that should be less conspicuous for him to wear out in public. Satisfied with his choice, he reached over to gently wake his vulpix with a ear scratching. "Come on, Viktoria. Ve should go get breakfast too, ja?" he smiled. Viktoria woke up from her small nap with a yawn and stretch before following Nick on out of the room and to the cafeteria.
Nick's first order of business was to get a cup of coffee, milking it down to a soft creamy color. After that, he had decided for a modest breakfast of a plain bagel with cream cheese, and a bit of fruit salad to share with Viktoria. Luckily enough, Leona was easy to find. She certainly stood out, wearing her armor. It was a large difference, however, from her appearance at the ball. So perhaps anyone that had seen the headlines wouldn't recognize her. Viktoria was the first to scamper over with a small bark, not exactly the most aware of the tense situation between the trainers. "Good morning, Isolde~" the vulpix greeted the Lucario with a friendly yip. Nikolaus followed suit, offering a very apologetic smile to Leona. "Excuse me, Fraulein. Vould you mind if I sat vith you? I am prepared to receive vhat vords you have for me. I am so sorry." he asked, only settling in at the table after she had granted him permission.

Leona focused mostly on eating and pretending not to take notice of Nick as he came into the cafeteria. Isolde, unfortunately, couldn't do the same as Viktoria bounded over and yipped adorably in greeting. The simple act alone put a smile on Isolde's face as she scooped up the alolan vulpix into her arms and then set her down on her lap. "And a good morn to you too~" She said sweetly, earning a sulky look from Leona for essentially fraternizing with the "enemy", but Isolde payed her no mind. After all, Leona had Nick to answer to. "You may sit." She agreed, looking at Nick reproachfully.
At least he recognized that he had messed up. He owned his mistake and was doing his best to fix it, and he was also apologizing profusely. Leona couldn't fault him for that, and it was difficult to be angry with—or hold the matter against—someone who seemed truly sorry as Nick did. However, that didn't change what happened. "Thou hast besmirched a lady's reputation. If thee shalt feel guilty, it proveth thee hath a conscience, and I am glad for it." She snapped coolly, her eyes narrowing a bit. Her posture was rigid and dignified even as she sat at their table, every part of her exuding her position and how strongly she felt it, but then the icy chill around her softened. "However, I am not so proud to turn a blind eye to mine own faults... I was asked to keep watch of thine drink, and I failed in this task. As such, thee alone are not to blame for the events which transpired hereafter." She sighed and rubbed her head, looking more human now that she wasn't doing her level best impression of a marble statue. "I am still plagued with ire, Nikolaus, but thine efforts to remedy the situation have been weighed... That is to say, you have my thanks, but t'would be best mayhap to go anon seperately hereafter. At least for a time, until these disgraceful rumors have passed, and I shan't be letting thee drink in public with me again. Are we clear?" A tired sort of smile finally found it's way on her face.
With that out of the way, Leona finished her breakfast and stood once Nick had done the same. "Continue to fix thine transgressions by helping to take me to the next town and separate. I shall find you again so we can return me back from whence I came. I am certain my liege and comrades will be relieved to know I am alive and well. Now, to which town shall we venture next?" She asked curiously.

Viktoria much appreciated her greeting from Isolde, welcoming the way the Lucario gently scooped her up and placed her on her lap. The snowy fox gekkered contently, settling in. She was mostly unaware of how Leona had felt about the ordeal, but was quite pleased that her lupine friend held nothing against her.
Nick waited patiently and quietly for permission to sit, and sure enough, it was granted. As much as he wanted to continue apologizing, he allowed Leona to speak before saying anything more. He set his breakfast down before him, sipping at his coffee as he listened to what Leona had to say. He couldn't help but hang his head in shame as she scolded him for besmirching her name. Luckily, it seemed she was willing to forgive him. But wasn't going to stand for him drinking around her in public ever again, and that they should part ways for a bit. Once she made things clear, Nikolaus felt relieved that he wasn't being blamed, at least not solely. However, it was sad that she felt that they should part ways for now. "Thank you, fraulein. That is quite understandable." Nick smiled a bit sadly. With that, he was able to finish his breakfast, sharing the fruit salad with Viktoria.
Once they were all done, they returned to the room to gather their stuff before returning the key, preparing to leave for their next destination. But first, there was a task he wanted to make sure he completed before Leona parted ways from him. "Very vell, fraulein. Before ve leave, I must do something real quick. Come along~" he told Leona, leading the way out of the pokemon center and into a shop full of electronic devices. While Leona likely didn't understand what was going on at all, Nick handled picking out and purchasing a communication device for her. Once that was done, he handed it over. "Here- So ve can keep in touch. I already put my number in it- here, let me show you~" he explained, then gave her the device and showed her the basics of how to use it. Once Leona was mostly comfortable with using the device, they started on their way to their next destination. "Ve vill be heading towards the next city, vhich is.... Ah, Striation City. It shouldn't take too long." the author answered, double checking his coil for a map. Assuring that his identity was adequately covered, he then led Leona along out of Accumula and towards Striation. Viktoria trotted along with them, tails held up and ears alert.
