It was good to complete the business in the lab, stepping back out into the miniature town of Vaniville. She sort of wished the lab would be tucked somewhere bustling like her home town, which would make things simplier. No, this was fine. The train-station came through here and connected many other far-away places. It happened to also be her destination to meet up with her new ward. A young girl with wonderful chocolate skin. She was like a cute little treat, how adorable! She even had a special way of speaking. Thankfully, Viviette had the training to communicate with the muted girl, and so there seemed little challenge. This wouldn't be like caring for some snobby noble. No, Viviette had a feeling the girl would be somewhat normal from the way her parents spoke of her. Who knew for sure, but the train was to arrive shortly with her new assignment on board. As the maid walked the distance to the train station, she tried to imagine what she would say. Would the girl know she was being sent a maid? Some of the details seemed fuzzy, and this would be a change in the normal etiquette. Normally she would meet the person or family she was assigned to at their estate, where she would have been interviewed anyway. In this situation, she didn't even know the person, and could only hope this would not prove and excessive challenge. Thankfully everything seemed in order and she would be making a fair wage doing this. And the description of the person she was looking after made it seem both simple and intruiging, with the major challenge being communication. The girl could be talked to easily, and Viviette understood sign language quite well, as it was one of many skills forced on her during her youth. As a small flock of Fletching flew through the branches, Chespin suddenly caught a scent in the air. Remy watched, curious. "C'est quoi, Chespin?" The Grass type Pokemon darted forward a bit, sniffing at the air. Remy's darted around in the bushes ahead on the path, and finally Chespin barked at what he found. Ahead a few feet a little Scatterbug crawled out from the grass and looking at Chespin. Remy stood behind his Starter as it wanted the bug to buzz off, but Scatterbug wouldn't put up with that, scattering a mist pf dark specks around. Remy smiled. "Go get him, Ches."

Arriving back in Vaniville Town Emory made a B-line straight for the PC-phone to inform dad she had returned and was about to get back on her way towards Lumiose city. Thankfully no one was home so a quick video message given in sign language was all she had to worry about. If dad got the message before mom great otherwise it was best to let dad content with her wrath while she was hundreds of mills away. Safe from her scorn. Emory had kept Chespin out of his pokeball so she could bond with it better. Though given the inability to communicate between them bonding consisted less of getting to know the pokemon and more scratching behind its ears or thorns, it was hard to tell which was which. A small crowd of people had gathered at the train station either awating to get on board of from someone else to disembark. Sticking out of the way Emory wished to avoid getting swallowed by the crowed.

Viviette had her nose buried in a small pamphlet around the time the Train ground to a halt in the station. Figures poured out, blurring together into a grey mass as other congealed to get on board for the next stop. Viviette kept her seat, but placed the pamphlet down, focusing on discerning one figure from the crowd. She managed to lock onto what she believed was the girl shew as looking for, whom had darted off towards the phone station to leave a message. Viviette stood and started after her, looking for clues to ensure this was Miss Emory. She caught up as the girl was finishing up a brief message and, most importantly, using sign language to do it. Ah, this had to be her! At least, hopefully. Viviette approached by weaving through the pushy crowd, finally emerging in front of the girl. She composed herself, ruffled from all the brushing and mashing crowds were known to do, then offered a little dipping bow to the girl, rather than potentially frighten the girl by offering a Kalos greeting. That being a gentle kiss on either cheek as hello between friends. "Madame Emory, is it?" She asked politely, before adding her introduction. "My name is Viviette Lefevre, and I am to act as caretaker for a Miss Nalani Hiapo Keonaona." It was a bit of information to potentially offer a stranger, though this was one of the uncommon situations where it was all too likely that this was indeed the Emory she sought. Hopefully she was correct, and the girl had a pokemon with her. She was a trainer, likely, and that narrowed things down a bit.

No sooner had Emory gotten away from the PC and the crowds had begun to disperse then was she confronted. Her first instinct was the girl had to be a trainer wanting to battle she had a pokeball after all. That quickly proved faults however. Introducing herself as Viviette and that she was to be her caretaker set Emory into a sort of temper tantrum, an all be it adorable one. Puffing out her checks, scrunching up her face stomped her foot and shacking her hands with clinched fists unable to simply yell frustration. It only lasted a moment though before she relaxed and took a calming breath bringing her hands palm up from her diaphragm up to her throat and then back down and out with eyes closed until she breath was released. So that's how it was huh. Mom and dad trusted her so little as to send the nanny to watch over her. Fair enough considering. She couldn't really blame them but still it was aggravating they'ed do this to her without so much as a heads up. No wait, if they'ed given her the heads up shes have refused to accept Viviette's assistance. They where smarter then she gave them credit for. Now she didn't have a choice but to accept. Smiling Emory flashed the back of both hands showing Tattoos that read "Im mute" and "Im Emory" to Viviette. It made sense they'ed send someone she could at least communicate with but but there was no telling how last minuet this was. Poor girl might not even know shes mute. Emory gave a quick collection of hand motions asking if Viviette could speak sign language or not. Mean while Chespin left to his own devices was attempting to uncover the secret to Emory's shoe strings having untied them unbeknownst to Emory herself.

Oh for shame~ Starting off honest was the wrong move it seemed, as the girl went into a silent and brief fit. Viviette fought to maintain her polite smile as the cute little stomping played itself out, her small smile wanting to twitch into an amused grin. "Ah, do not fret so much, chere~, I was not sent with strict rules, merely an assignment to keep you healthy and safe. Zis means I shall prepare meals for you, clean for you, and heed to your requests. Is't bonne, no?" The maid spoke in an almost sing-song tone, all the while hoping that the girl would look at this in a positive light. The girl's quick show of clever little tattoos on her hands confirmed the situation beyond a doubt, and the following question seemed to test her knowledge of hand-sign. Viviette giggled at the cute little display, her hands gracefully answering "Of course" as her eyes drifted towards the Chespin at the girls feet. Little creature appeared to be untying her shoes. That was a relief at least. As long as Viviette could sign they wouldn't have too big of an issue communicating. Better still if all she was going to be doing was tagging along keeping her company and helping out then it wasn't really that big of a problem with Emory. Emory had never relayed on the house staff much. She much preferred to be self dependent but given her condition and the difficulty's it had already presented traveling on her own maybe it was best she have someone who could translate and help her. The only issues she had was the potential danger she might be placed in. Emory tried to convince herself Viviette wouldn't be in any real danger. It was adorable to see the little quill pokemon shake her hand with its little paw. Good also to establish a good relationship with the girls partner pokemon. She straightened up at the girls tapping foot, easily putting together that the girl would have to use visual triggers to get attention. Viviette intended to shed the awkwardness of this as quickly as possible, as was her training to do so. Hopefully only a few days would pass before they were comfortable with each others presence. The girl was signing a question that Viviette had to pause. My, she was bold to bring it up at all, as such accidents were traditionally buried in silence. Of course her parents brought up the ordeal as it seemed to be a major point as to why she was being assigned. Such trama's had wild affects on people, but Viviette didn't need an eye opener to put together that the parent's might be a bit overbearing and this girl didn't initially like being helped. Despite the evil look of the pokemon, it seemed to simply remain still, aware of its menacing affect on other pokemon and sometimes trainers. "Zis is my friend, and he is a prankster, but he knows not to bo'zer my clients. A bit softie, as they say." She ruffled the purple pokemon's head, and the Gengar seemed to enjoy the motion, keeping its form physical to endure the affection, offering a pleased "Geeen" of approval. She hoped the Gengar wouldn't frighten the girl. Ghost pokemon were a step up from bug types in the creepy department. Some people didn't like being around them.

So mom and dad had everything under control after all. Surprise surprise. Vivette knowing why she couldn't speak anymore removed a lot of complicated and very painful questions from the Q.&.A portion of there introduction. It also meant any curiosity wouldn't be directed her way which believe it or not negated a large amount of the tension she'd feel traveling with Viviette otherwise. No risk of Viviette "accidentally" bringing it up. It also meant Emory wouldn't need to explain herself if and when she had an episode. Panic attacks had become a common occurrence sense her return home. Nodded her head in agreement that this was acceptable Emory was now trying to think of something Viviette could do for her that she otherwise couldn't do herself. Viviette had so far not encountered anything strange or off about the girl. She was traveling on her own, and surviving just fine it seemed. Probably not eating right, being young and all, but this seemed quite simple. Viviette could tell there would be a soft boundary of what she could do for Emory without bothering her, and likely meals and laundry would be among them. Simple stuff, which meant any extra duties she would perform would be implied and silent. If Emory was in trouble, Viviette would have to be gentle about intervening to avoid negativity between them. The trauma the girl faced was also an open wound that had to be carefully navigated around. While the job was simple, Viviette was certain she walked an edge as her position was only stable as long as the girl didn't mind her being around. At least this hadn't turned into one of those chase situations where the ward didn't want supervision and would flee the servant. Giving Emory power and a stance for negotiation would keep them equal and not one way or the other. It seemed the best political move to make so far.

She started, wondering if the girl would be alright with such advice. With good luck, Emory was probably being polite and would welcome a nickname to spell. "Madame, you flatter me so! Wui, I am from Lumoise city, such a beautiful city~" She explained draping a hand over her chest as she spoke, the other clicking the pokeball to call Gengar back inside. The yawning ghost pokemon didn't seem to have any objections to returning to the ease of the capsule.

Emory blushed a little at the comment of having so many pokemon but the truth was only a fraction of all the pokemon had owned were actually hers. Jessica has been the one to catch most of the very strong pokemon she now had. In fact only Luponny, Clefariy, Delibird and Ledyba where ever actually hers. It didn't matter though as they all had grown attached to her long before the accident so when she took ownership they quickly adapted and accepted her as their new trainer. Viviette giggled, touching a finger to her lips as she noticed Emory's blushing. The girl was easy to flatter, perhaps! Who knew, but at least it was all a good sign. She nodded softly as the girl signed their next destination. This was a good start, traveling together already like adventuring comrades. This would be the first time as well, though Viviette assumed it would be on foot. She had traveled on foot quite some distances, so it was to be expected that serving a trainer would mean traveling often. This was a secret perk she had in mind when she was interviewing for the position. Thankfully her family name did most of the talking. What happened next, however, made a look of surprise appear on the maid's face. The girl was hoisting herself onto the Gogoat, and offering assistance for the maid to join. Oh dear, this was unexpected. Viviette didn't fear the pokemon, but she had no experience riding a pokemon. Carefully she took Emory's hand and mounted up, feeling awkward as she wondered how this ride would go.
Embarrassed, the maid spoke softly, knowing once they got started signing back at her would be probably a tad difficult. "Zis is my first time riding a pokemon. Be gentle, si vous plait." She asked, wishing she had of taking the offers to go Rapidash riding during that stay in Kanto in her childhood. The large pokemon seemed so fearsome, the young girl had been too afraid to climb on. Even the Ponyta's firey manes made them seem frightening to ride around. At least riding this pokemon would give her the experience, and it would not be as exhausting to make it to the next town. It was awkward to hold the smaller girl at the waist for stability, and be dependent on someone younger for safety. She was used to being the caretaker, and this was one of the rare moments where she felt at the mercy of Emory, though at least the girl offered instead of making the girl walk to keep up. This would have been acceptable too, now that she thought about it. The kind offer did mean the girl might be willing to trust the maid, and that was a sign of a good start between them. She would have to prepare an extra special meal to impress the girl. Viviette could only wonder what Emory's cooking skill was, and how she was eating on her own like this.

Emory had been riding this Gogoat sense he was a Skiddo, more then a little to the terror of her parent's who where absolutely adamant she avoid such reckless behavior at first but whom quickly realized she was far safer on his back then on her own two feet. Unlike for Emory the pokemon knelt down to let Viviette get up easier. Emory didn't need or want the assistance and the pokemon knew better then to accommodate. Emory hated it when people or pokemon treat her differently simply because she didn't talk. Giving Viviette a thumbs up once she was up and sitting atop Gogoat's back. Feeling the slightly taller woman's hands at her hips she kicked into pokemons side letting him know they could go. Gogoat was off taking careful measure not to jostle its new rider to much. Emory directed the pokemon by using his horns like a stirring wheel. Once up and running it didn't take long to leave Vaniville town behind.

Viviette focused on remaining stable as they kicked off, seeing how Emory must get around so quickly. She couldn't do anything but pay attention to how the girl steered the pokemon and how the scenery passed by like a reel on an old movie set. She supposed riding lessons would be a tactical move after all, though she would need a pokemon she could ride before it were useful. Maybe riding with Emory would show her how its done, at least with a Gogoat. Was it different with other pokemon? Riding a Rapidash required you hold to its powerful neck, so steering seemed entirely up to the pokemon. Viviette had time during the travel between towns to think about this. She could try to talk to Emory more, but the girl would probably be unable to respond much. It was best to just add it to the to-do list.
