Upon reaching Cyllage, Cheria noticed Lhilei become distant again. Man....Here she was hoping the Vulpix had softened a bit. She really was difficult. Well, at least he had a plan. Cheria was just going to go in and get out as soon as possible. She didn't like Cyllage and wasn't keen on spending too much time in the area. If she lost t battle, she'd probably go train somewhere else. "That's a pretty dignified name. Theodore Lamperouge....Sounds like the name a noble would have. A-Anyway...Yeah, I think I will. Just to give it a shot." Theo suddenly said something about their next opponent and apologized, causing Cheria to laugh a little. "It's alright. You were training, so you don't have to apologize. Cheria and Lhilei walked into the gym, looking up at the rock climb wall. What a design. But, Cheria was awful at rock climbing. She would be safer taking the stairs and avoiding the possible death awaiting her on the wall. However, Lhilei had different plans. The grey and blue Vulpix ran up to the wall, yipping excitedly before looking at Cheria expectantly. Cheria tensed a bit.
Oh, no.
What did she do? Did she ignore Lhilei's clear request and take the stairs, risking the chance to bond with her? Or, did she try the climb to make the little Vulpix happy and earn some love from her? Groaning quietly, Cheria decided to try the wall for Lhilei's sake. Walking up to her, Cheria picked Lhilei up and helped her settle inside her bag.
"Stay in there so you don't fall, alright?" Cheria looked at the rock wall, determining which route to take. "If I survive this....I'm doing this for you, Lhilei, so I hope you appreciate it."
"Vul~!" She took that as a "I do!" and sighed softly. She hoped Lhilei would be okay with Cheria backing out, but that was asking too much.
Well, here went nothing. Cheria walked up to the wall and hesitated before she started climbing. Curse this Vulpix and her adventurous spirit.

After some climbing, and a few near panic attacks, Cheria made it to the battlefield. She crawled up and sat there on her knees for a few minutes, calming herself down. Lhilei jumped out of the bag and yipped happily, running around in a circle. At least someone enjoyed the climb. This friendship wasn't going to be the most stable thing in the world, was it? Standing on her still shaking legs, Cheria looked up to see Grant standing on his side of the field, looking at her with an almost worried expression. Well, she was fine now. But, she was never climbing a rock wall again.
Looking at Grant, she saw that he did still have rocks in his hair, but it'd grown a lot and there were more than ever. She always did find that fashion choice a little weird, but he somehow made it work. Cheria wondered for a moment if Grant would recognize her; they didn't hang out all that much, but they did know each other as children before she shut the world out. Actually, just seeing him again made her feel safer being in Cyllage. Of course, she still wanted to leave as quickly as she could.
"Alright, Lhilei, stay back. Grant's Pokémon will be too strong and effective against you. But, you can cheer on the team if you want?" Actually, if she was lucky, she'd be able to win this battle with only Sheena. Her other Pokémon weren't quite on par with her; except Aaron, of course. "Maybe I should switch someone out for Qukoh'ya real quick...."
No. No, she'd be fine. If not, she would bring Qukoh'ya in for a second round. Walking to stand on her side of the field, Cheria gave a polite bow to Grant before smiling at him a bit. Lhilei looked at Cheria curiously. Why had Qukoh'ya's trainer just bow? She was weird.
"I'm Cheria Barnes of Coumarine. I've come for a battle with you, Grant."

Grant was working on some harnesses when he heard a challenger enter the GYM. Slowly he waited for her to traverse his GYM. She arrived at long last and announced who she was. "Heya Cheria, you know, you look sort of familiar" he pondered for a moment but figured she wasn't there for guess who "I hope you're ready because things are about to get rocky" he sent out his Amaura awaiting the final decision for what his challenger would choose

It wasn't the most solid recognition, but it was something at least. Instead of responding to him, she just smiled again before he started the battle, sending out his Amaura. Sheena should do fine against Amaura. Releasing the Frogadier, Sheena observed her opponent as she got ready to battle.
"Pix...." Someone was upset at being left out of the battle. Cheria just rolled her eyes. Lhilei didn't have much experience with rocks, did she?
"Alright, Sheena, get ready." She couldn't use Quick Attack for some immediate damage; it wouldn't be very effective against Amaura. Cheria would just have to wait until Amaura attacked first.

Starting with a Frogadier, Cheria finished her prep for battle. Grant was ready though he planned his move out before she even elected his move. "Let's get ready to rumble, Amaura use Thunder Wave" it was a guaranteed paralysis against most types of Pokemon so for him it was a flawless opening
