Brie crept down stairs and by the feeble light of her phone maneuvered through the safety equipment to find the flash light by the door. She grabbed it up when she felt a presence behind her and turned quickly to see her bubble wrapped grandmother. The old woman clearly wanted something from her, but she was in no mood to oblige at the moment. Being without her knives was mildly problematic, however. Not that she'd ever actually use them on her ageing caretaker, but it was nice to know you have your strife specibus with you in case you needed it in such circumstances.

She would have to abscond. As a distraction Brie tipped over a small table onto the vase on the floor next to it and quickly youth rolled toward the stair case while her grandmother flipped her lid over the broken shards of glass that were being embedded in the carpet.

Brie ran up to her room and quickly locked herself in. She turned on the flashlight and looked out the window. The snow was coming down so thick that you couldn't see past it at all.

She turned on her phone and messaged Jackson again.

CT: i nowhave a flashlight, but i still can't getonto the game.
CT: hope youraunt isn't going tobe too pissed about thefloor/ceiling.

Brie then took the opportunity to look around with the flash light. She found her knives and put them in her specibus before noticing she still had that weird little cube she'd gotten in the mail. She examined it for a moment before noticing it had an ... outlet.

CT: yo, jack.
CT: ithink someone sent mea generator of somekind.

PP: Yes!
PP: Let's get this s**t started!
PP: Hopefully quickly.
PP: Before i'm killed by the Meteor that is, according to UC, coming towards my Home.
PP: But no Rush!

> This is boring. Be ******** fine. You suppose you'll do something interesting. You wish your MOOSEDAD were here. He'd cheer you up with a bit of wrestling and an interesting story punctuated with 'eh' every now and again.
Man, MOOSEDAD was ******** awesome. Way more awesome than this bullshit void nonsense.
Speaking of bullshit, you can't help but remember something your ex-kismesis said to you once you finished the 'game'.
"There are no imperial drones to collect our incestuous slurry in pailS! We are free from the tyranny of quadrantS! Blah blah blah blaH!"
Okay, so admittedly you didn't listen past that second sentence. He just doesn't like Quadrants because he's terrible at relationships. ******** that guy platonically. ******** him so hard. Platonically. You most certainly haven't been thinking about doing that at all. Nope. Not one bit.
You think you'll do something else, like WORK ON EXPLOSIVES, or something.

Brie nodded, but to herself, since, you know, Jackson couldn't actually see the nod.

CT: kk

Brie quickly plugged her computer back in and let it reboot before pulling the game back up. She saw the mess she created and quickly apologized once more before setting up the last available machine.

CT: let's dothis!

((Skip tedious crux creating and all that? Also, I edited Thalia's response, dunno if you saw it yet or not.))

PP: ******** finally.
PP: How the flying ******** does this work?
PP: I think I have to open this thing...

You look at the cruxtruder.
You honestly have no idea how to work this thing.

Brie looked at it in thought.

CT: maybe ican open it?

She moved the cursor over the lid and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge.

CT: damn thatthing is stuborn. maybe youcan open it?

PP: s**t.
PP: Hold on, i'll see if my Umbrella will do the Trick.

You equip your UMBRELLA. According to your AUNT, it was a PROP in the film SINGING IN THE RAIN. But you don't care. You tend to only use it as a crowbar. You drop down into the hole where the Cruxtruder fell, and wedge the handle in-between the shaft of the device and what looks like the top.
"Hnngh! ********! This! Machine!"
After several minutes of grunting and pushing, you get the top of the machine off. A glowing reddish orb and a reddish cylinder pop out.
A timer you didn't see before shows '30:27' before continuously counting down.

PP: That doesn't look good.

CT: i really hopethat's enough timeto do what weneed to.
CT: i don't playmany game but timers usualymean bad thingsright?

Brie looked around the house at the things she's deployed before:

CT: alright, here's whatyou need to do
CT: ithink
CT: captcha the red notfloating thing and take it upstairs.
CT: here, shortcut

Brie built stairs up through the hole Jackson had just jumped down.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 13, 2012 5:43 pm

PP: Why thank you.

You climb the stairs. The orb is following you. It seems to want you to put something in it.
You look around your room. What, you wonder, can you part with?
