I should mention that these songs provide a brief overview of the 1972 science-fiction novel by Dr. Asimov. They are set to the music of When I Come Around by Greenday, About A Girl by Nirvana, Nada Personal by Peyote MX, and Bye Bye Love by Bud and Felice Bryant, respectively. The title comes from a quote from the play Joan of Arc, "Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain." It was very interesting. I would recommend it.
Tungsten
Well, I found a bottle of Tungsten that looked like it had been tampered with. Well, it turned that it wasn’t Tungsten at all but Plutonium-186, which is not possible
unless it’s from another Universe with different laws than ours. Free energy for us!
So I built a bunch of electron pumps to supply Earth’s two billion people. I’m certain this will work out for another trillion years and those who warn it’s more like twenty, I just wreck their careers.
The electron pump calls me dad, but you can call me Hallam because my name is Hallam.
The Gods Themselves
I’m Doctor Denison. I decoded Etruscan and that’s how I met my friend, Lamont, at a college conference.
He gets impatient while it takes so many trials to say “that Pump is bad, vile,” at me. At me.
I finally get across but is seems that the Para-boss won’t stop the pump at any cost. When we blow up they’ll just get all the energy from us.
In vain the Gods themselves contend against stupidity. Well, I hate Hallam. Can’t you tell from me? You see.
Dua
Hey, look at the emo who likes to learn but not to melt so she eats like a bird. Odeen, her Rational, taught her of the sun, the pump, the Hard-Ones and the course they will run.
Another source of food, Electron Pump, you make us so renewed when the population dwindles and the sun loses its strength.
Cosmeg
Ben went to the Moon where he met Selene. She was a tour guide. Her intuition was necessary to invent the Pionizer which they used to do research on the lunar surface where there was no atmosphere.
Cosmeg Pump besides giving energy restores the laws of our galaxy and finally sticks it to Hallam.
Cosmeg Pump severs Lunarites’ dependency on the solar energy that links them to the Earth.
