Does music influence your mood?

Quite simply does music influence your mood like does sad songs make you sad.

But then again, whatever I'm listening to is usually how I already feel.

yeah it does cuz there are some songs that just gets me all hyped up and then there are songs that reminds me of stuff that can make me real sad

And when I listen to music wile I'm reading, it affects how I perceive the book. If the music is sad, the events in the book seem more depressing.

To an extent, I'd say yes.

Obviously, suicidal emo songs wouldn't make me feel like killing myself; if songs were THAT powerful, there'd be a bunch of dead people by now.

But yes; listening to a happy cheerful song is going to put you in a good mood 9 times out of 10, and vice versa.

I'll even play certain music when I am writing certain things and I want something to influence that feeling.
