I'm not a big fan of mecha anime, so I wasn't too fond of this one from the beginning. Shinji has to be the biggest twit on the planet, Rei needs a prozac, and Asuka should be left in her bathtub of despair. Frankly, for the most part this anime annoyed me. I will say this in favor of it. I like philosophy and those last two eps were pretty good for philosophizing.

Can't believe no one has posted here yet stare ... Anyway I am a mecha fan so i started off on a good impression. I agree with you about shinji... He was the thing that messed with me the whole time... If anything i think he should have switched places with asuka and let her rebound farther than she did... such a powerfull scene that one 3nodding Other than that i actually loved this anime; and combined with the movie it almost makes it unbeatable. Then again i guess you have to be at least accepting of the mecha concept to truly apprciate it. Plus, everyone loves asuka^_^...

Yeah, mecha is not my favorite genre of anime. Plus Shinji really sucks. Granted the animation was fabulous in it's own way. I think that's why I watched it all the way through. Still need to see the movie. I've heard it's better then LSD. 3nodding

I don't normally like mechas but this one is an exception. In fact, it's one of my favorite animes. There's plenty of philosophy all throughout the series if you keep an eye open for it.

One of my favorite animes....looks like you're just the types that don't get the references and the way the anime goes....and no that's not an insult most people just don't understand this series. And it's just really hard to explain....you either understand or you don't. Anyway, as a side note the creator was in depression when he made the series so give it a break.
