please feel free to post your verse here.

this is some of mine:

The snows of yesteryear have gone away,
They linger only in our memory:
Vast frozen fields of white that turn to grey,
No living thing for miles aorund to see.
We gladly wait for spring, summer and fall,
The day-bright times when living takes full sway,
But winter comes and darkness takes us all
And chill night consumes each futile day.

We dare not look ahead, no prophets we,
Preferring present joys, come then what may.
Ignore the shadows casting forth their pall,
We vainly claim our time to live it free:
"These sunlit hours suffice" we boldly say;
But winter comes and darkness takes us all.

Sonnet of Disillusion

What if the world were meaningful and joy
Awaited each new morning sunrise?
What if we had fine talents to employ,
Great deeds at hand, and we were strong and wise?
What if we glady gave each other aid
So cheerful we, no nuisance could annoy,
No fearsome foe could make us feel afraid,
Nor daily troubles our sweet bliss alloy?

Yet scenes of horror come before our eyes:
Disease, war, poverty and crime destroy
The innocent, who no guilt have displayed.
Ignorant masses right and truth despise
And seek low, beastly pleasures to enjoy.
No what-ifs can amend our foul charade.

Your poetry is really good, I wrote something the other day, nothing special:

You stare into space,
Mind devoid of this place,
Gazing into the stormy sea, your eyes,
Is there something I should realize?
I wonder. . .

Where is the sun?
Has the end begun?
You're feeling so cold,
I don't feel this romance old.
I wonder. . .

Should I just play along?
Or is only in my mind that something's wrong?
I love you enough to let it be, but,
I wonder, to make you happy,
Would I be able to set you free?

I don't actually write poetry, sometimes it just comes to me. But no, my form of expression is the paintbrush.

Mostly i write my poems in Dutch...but i'll try

Stars

If i'm asleep and
look up in the night
I can see 100.000 stars
All showing your face
Its a dream i never want to leave
But when i leave this dream, and get into another
I dream about 100.000 twinkly stars in the night
100.000 stars with a sign
A sign that i must wake up

And when i want to go back to that dream, its gone
and the night is black
I think i see a twinkly star, but then its gone again
And the night is dark
Dark without a star, dark without you
Now i dont want to dream on, but i must.
Its not morning yet, its not time to go to school
So i try to dream better, i try to dream about 100.00 stars

Right....

I am a horrible poet but here is my 5 min atempt.

Thought

An iron jar filled with willpower,
Lighter than a cloud
Though it should fall to the ground.

A comic book bubble,
Surrounds and idea,
The only chance to become a seer.

Knitting the inspiration,
Into an afghan for the mind
So multicolored it’s the greatest find.

A miracle happening in your own mind.
Take a look around inside.

Crocodile serenades for woes as real as those lies sprung from lizard eyes,
comfort your disillusions and offer nothing more
than the instability of thine own person.
When you glance over shoulders higher than yours,
and see us snickering at this projected image:
are you sure that he is holding you,
for is the grip so tight not yours, not one of subconcious uncertainty?
Willow it away as you post yourself
present this image of troubles
when all the time I can read your luxury!
It's smeared on the bags that you tote and your hair,
ohGodYourHair.
What a tale that one is, the pride of your creativity,
yet all we can read are cryptic icons and savage letters in bold print.
Oh, so much more bold than your attempts.

Your insecurities save me.

What do you guys think? ((PM me)) Rhyme schemes are bothersome, and dull besides.

None of my poems ever rhyme, but then, they don't have to.

Love at First Sight

I didn't know what to say to you

When it was just us two

Alone, together, apart

We had been smart

We kept our distance

Knowing that we might get hurt

Being ever so long since

We listened to all the dirt

Being from the little one

Or our friends and family

Meeting always just after the sun

And we would talk ever so kindly

About what we would go back to

And what we didn't want to leave

Not getting to know each other so well

No love, no love at all would weave

But for me, for me it was to late

I knew it was love at first sight

I had already opened the gate

Though denying it with all my might

And now your gone

And I'm all alone

Trying to go on

Waiting for a loan

To get me where I want to be

Next to you forever and always

On a house by the sea

As we see eachother sideways

Looking into your eyes

Wishing it would never end

As I see through all the lies

And our wound continues to ment

Life will never be like this

But we can always dream

Thinking of the ones we miss

As hard as it may seem

And When Your Heart Gets Riped Out

When your heart gets ripped out

What are you to do?

Go back to them

Try and fix it?

Or just try and make it through?

Go through life

Living a lie

Telling everyone your fine

When your really crying inside

Putting on a face

A smile

A laugh

It's not so easy after a while

Cause you'll eventually break

And when you break

You fall

And when you fall

You sure as hell fall hard

And you'll fall for a long time

Well I've been falling

I've been falling since the day I met you

The Object

Once upon a time
In a young childs dream,
Everything was beautiful;
Or so it would seem.
This child had no worries,
And she didn't believe in fear.
The end seemed far away for her.
But sadly, it was near.
The little girl was the age of five;
No stress upon her head.
Then came a rainy day
That pronounced her parents dead.
The five year old girl
Who had nobody there,
Grew up to be a woman
Without any care.
She is now the age of nineteen
And her spirit never died,
Until she lost her one true love
And committed Suicide.
We know there's no stopping death,
But we can prevent a life.
Just one object can do that,
And that object is a knife.

Yes, I wrote that.
