Figured since I didn't see one, might as well start one. Hi, I'm Ishky. I haven't been much of a traveler, mostly inside the U.S. where I live, but I got the awesome chance to visit Italy on a tour after I graduated high school.

Lemme say that it was awesome. The country is so rich in food and history I was blown away. Our tour started in northern Italy, in a beautiful place called Milan which was below the border from Germany. For 10 days afterwards, we worked our way down ending at Rome. I didn't get to see the southern part of Italy but I'm pretty sure if it's anything like the northern half (I know I know, I'm *gasp* comparing the two. At least I'm not provoking the italian pride by comparing it with Sicily.); it's probibly just as amazing. I'd have to say my favorite spot was Venice. If I could, I'd go back and live there, if just for a year or two.

Where have you been?

I lived in England for a few years when I was little. I don't really remember much from there though.

I'm going to Italy with my Strings Program we're making a triangle starting in Milan. I don't really know much about Italy but if it's like the rest of Europe i'm sure I'll love it..

I've been to Ireland and Paris. In Ireland I've been to Dublin, Kilarney, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Kilkenny, and Kerry. All equally beautiful except for Galway... Galway was just amazing... beautiful scenery, lots of places to get ice cream, really good ice cream and the beaches were soo clean! Dublin was my favorite.. It was historic and unique. The doors on the houses are all different colors and the sidewalk zig-zags.. just becareful, the cars come from the opposite direction when crossing the street... I made that mistake, tihs lady in her car yelled at me saying "Get out of the f**kin' street you tourist" keep in mind that was with an Irish accent... XD it was so funny

Farthest I've been is Mass. to a small town where every other street has a cemetary, and it's a 30 min. drive to salem. Too bad we got there too late to see the museum.

...I live in Brussels,
funny how we get so many U.S. backpackers here who think eating waffles with ice cream at the big marketplace is "amazing" and "o my god"...and think they're actually in Switzerland instead of Belgium...(I know this's a small country but c' on:
at least read yr tourguide goddamn)...
sweatdrop
I once had a totally clueless redneck asking me when the city was closing,
he though the inside of Brussels was an amusementpark,
yeah right and all of the bums are actually payed actors right? (??!!)...

I've been to Denmark last year, Czech Rep., Germany and Cyprus.
I prefer Spain over Italy (been to Spain quite o few times, o I'm sorry: Barcelona, I'm supposed to say I've been to Catalunia instead of Spain...
Sevilla and Madrid too)...
I've been to France a lot,
why it's really close,
and the Netherlands (not Holland mind you, Holland just a smaller part of the Netherlands) but never in a really touristic way.
My mum used to take me to London a lot when I was a kid,
usually to go shopping.
Been to Iceland once,
was pretty weird,
I swam inside a volcano crater.
biggrin

O and Istanbul was very nice too if you can still count this being Europe...(bought a lot of food and tea),
although very touristic.

I like travelling a lot,
but it all costs so much... confused

GEMENE-KOALA rofl ça c'etait marrant amie d'outre frontiere, on en a certain en France qui sont pareil ... mince j'y pense mais ce sont les meme !!!!
cry

Well, I have travelled, visited, lived and worked in a few of our old cities (not amusement park except Marne la vallee, obviously with Disney).

I have lived, studied and worked in London a few years, taught in Leeds also, visited Scottland, Whales, Jersey and Guernesey, Ireland, Eyre and Ulster. Beautiful places and beautiful people, even if in some cases quite difficult to be French there sometimes ... (and sometimes I do know why ... but that's an other subject).

I have worked in Holland, in Den Hagg, near Schweveninggen ... euh I hope the spelling's right. Been to Dam quite a few times and visited small villages and country side. Had a great time "exchanging" points of views with girls there (amazing dramallama ) even if I was two heads shorter then them !!!

Been to Belgium, especially to Bruxelles, a wonderful town I love it. I would recommend Jules Verne Cafe!!! and so many things.

Been and studied in Germany, Berlin before the wall fell and after ... great fun there.

Worked in Norway, Stavanger ... loads of good memories ...

Ok, ok I'll make it short : Italy, Spain (nearly all the "nations" there), Greece, Switzerland (and no its not Belgium!), Bosnia, Croatia, Yougoslavia (at the time it existed still), Poland, Danemark, Sweeden, and a few other places in the world. (I am very poor on eastern European countries, mind you)

Actually with my brother and sister we have a map and each one of us put a different colored flag on the countries visited ... and at the moment I loose !!! evil

The good thing about Europe are the distances, quite small. So it is easy to go from one diversity to the other in no time ... loving it
