Personality: Verbena is a stand-alone creature who is used to her own company and faces other Soquili with her guard up. They have to earn respect before she's comfortable with them. That's a problem in itself because those expectations are so very high. She has a very pessimistic personality, is stubborn, grumpy, suspicious, and secretive, but it IS possible for her to have fun. When nobody's watching, of course.
History: Verb's always been a wandering Soquili - dependant on herself and her wits for survival. Then a human caught her attention. A human living on the beach, cheerful, bouncy, also self-providing, who had managed to carve out a home in what can be a hard place to live. Her curiosity got the better of her and Cowrie soon knew about the Soquili and was determined to meet her. When other, much noisier people invaded the beach Verbena fled, but by chance crashed into Cowrie in the woods and they've been allies ever since.

Ortzi still makes her mad, though. Seagulls. Pssht.

Name: Cowrie
Meaning: A type of shell
Gender: Female
Age: 21 years
Height: 5'4"
Description: Born slight, she's nonetheless filled out herself on hard work from having to live on her own for a long time. Cowrie has dark brown hair, cropped short, keeping several braids that have cowrie shells and other shells tied into them. Her form of dress is eclectic, also decorated with gifts from the sea.

One day a gull decided to build a nest on top of Cowrie's teepee. It didn't take long for him and the girl that lived there to become friends (especially since he got fish out of the deal) and she even gave him a name, Ortzi. So there he stays until this day, watching her do all that strange people stuff to pass the time.

Like most seagulls he has a wicked sense of humor and feels very clever when he employs it. He likes fish, fish, and more fish and of course accompanies Cowrie when she goes to get lunch, always in hope of a good meal.

Cowrie's original teepee collapsed a long time ago. This one is better, stronger, and designed better in regards to the hardships it must endure. The bottom and flaps are trimmed with red and the main decorations are paintings/prints of seashells done by Cowrie's own hand.

The inside is small and cozy. Her firepit is outside. The whole thing is in a pit surrounded by sand, which protects it from wind.

Most of the things inside are from the beach. There's pieces of driftwood whittled into seagulls and mermaid's purses even a smooth, shiny piece of abalone, and the usual assortment of shell necklaces and things needed for daily living. There's a human shaped hole in the middle of the mess, presumably where she sleeps. Packrat, anyone?

In the branches of the teepee is the remains of an old nest. Seagulls like to perch up here and watch what's going on below.
