For weeks Cassius had felt like there was something he was supposed to be doing, something he had completely forgotten about, but he just could not figure out what the hell it was. He swore he was going crazy, and he felt like he was likely driving Emppu crazy as well, constantly asking him if he was absolutely sure they weren't meant to be doing something.

Eventually, he stopped worrying about it. Whatever it was, must not have been that important.

Until one day, in the middle of the night, they both remembered. And at the exact same time.

It was spooky. And also, it seemed like a very important thing to have forgotten about, given what it meant if they succeeded.

A spot for both of them within the Ravnos clan. Cassius might have been able to get in easily on his own, but he had negotiated for Emppu too, and that had led to what the clanless vampire assumed was going to be a much more arduous task. This "Zap", as everyone seemed to call him, didn't seem like a very pleasant guy to be around.

And somehow, Cassius was meant to bring him to Ravnos, and convince him to join the clan as well. Sure. Easy. They were half-brothers, after all. What could possibly go wrong?

It had taken them a few days to track the guy down, and most of what they had gleaned to get them this far was by sheer luck alone. Zap was slippery, always seeming to be on the move, always a new haunting ground, and never easy to find.

But, Cassius was tenacious, once he had a goal in mind.

And now to this evening, where they stood outside of a busy nightclub, on good intel that they would find the one they were looking for inside. Loud, booming music shook the walls of the structure and vibrated the ground at Cassius's feet. He glanced over at Emppu and nodded toward the door.

It was time to get in there and get this over with.

Okay, Emppu was ready. Cassius was ready. It was time.

Moving forward and leading the way, the vampire nodded to the bouncer at the door before it was pushed open to let both him and Emppu inside. With the opening of the door came a much louder blast of music, and Cassius glanced over to his mate.

"Too bad we've got work to do, or it might have been a fun night, otherwise." He grinned and slipped his hand into Emppu's, mostly so they wouldn't get separated in the sea of faekats milling around, drinking, dancing, or just generally merrymaking.

"Keep an eye out for anything shady." He spoke loudly over the noise so his mate could hopefully hear, as they wound their way through the club.

Emppu shakes his head slightly, reminding himself that he was here to work, not play, and holds Cassius' hand as they enter the club. He chuckles slightly at Cassius' words about missing out on a fun night, then nods, looking around as they walked. Curious purple eyes even went so far as to scan upwards to see if he could make anything out on any of the upper floors from where he stood, but alas, fate was not with him this night. He honestly didn't know what this fae they were looking for even looked like, to be fair. How upset would he be at himself if he ended up being the reason that they missed pinning down Zap all this time? He frowns, then looks over at Cassius for a moment before nudging the other before leaning over to whisper in his ear.

"Should we check upstairs first? I admit, I still don't know who exactly I'm looking for, appearance wise, anyway."

A rather large and burly large stepped into Cassius’s path, blocking him entry to the upper level. “VIP only and you ain’t VIP.” He crossed his arms over his broad chest and glares at the vampire.

A hand clasped on the large man’s shoulder. “Now now Basil he’s a very special guest of mine.” A wide grin soon appeared on the new male’s face. Pink eyes sparkling with malcontent. The twin tails he sported seemed to weave and snake behind him. Almost with impatience.

“Oh, right. I forgot.” The big kat stepped aside allowing Cassius entry to the top floor. The other hand n’t even waited before he had returned to his booth and was downing another shot before he held up two fingers to a waitress who scurried off to get his order.

“I have been wondering why you two have been following me these past few days. And the only thing I can figure is it’s because of one of our parents.” Zapathasura stated plainly with little enthusiasm.

When Cassius slid into the book Zapathasura’s eyes narrowed. He hadn’t invited this piece of shot to sit in his booth. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and he grit his teeth. His jaw setting in a hard line as he resisted the urge to throw those kat off the balcony.

“I see.” ZapNs voice was deep as he studied Cassius. Not speaking another word until the ring was presented. He stared at it. Long and ******** off.” His brows furrowed and he hated his fangs. “You and your little boyfriend can just ******** right off. I don’t care what he had offered you. ******** off!” If he was mad about Cassius sitting in his booth he was rightly pissed odd now. He flipped the table over and it crashed into the barricade. Clearing the short distant Zapathasura pinned Cassius back against the seat. Pink claws digging into his shoulders.

“You WILL. And you’ll take that ******** ring with you.” He pushed Cassius against the seat harder. Leaning as much weight as he could against him. “You don’t know what you are doing. What you are playing at. If you do not leave right now you will die and so will your boyfriend. Whatever he is offering, whatever it is you want forget about it and leave.”

Zapathasura hissed. Barring his fangs in Cassius’s face. A wild, crazed look stared at him with such hatred it was palpable.

“He asks too much. So much pressure you just want it to stop.” His fox like ears flicked back. The crazed look in his eye replaced by clarity. But a deadly clarity none the less.

“I will…..”

Clenching his fist he pulled it back. “I will save you brother.” His voice was deep and a look of pure bliss crossed his face right before he brought his fist down into Cassius’s face over and over again.

He hit him over and over again. Harder and harder with each blow. His knuckles were becoming bloody. Grabbing Cassius by the throat he lifted him up and pushed him back against the barricade of the balcony. Zapathasura squeezed his throat. “I will save you and Thorne and the rest of our siblings.”
