It seemed as if it had been a long time since anything had really happened in the world of the Vampires. No gatherings. s**t, it had been years since he last embraced someone. And that little kitten had disappeared not long after he got his jollies from her. He had a small hole that maybe she would have stuck around but that just seemed the norm.

Eventually Ravnos ended up alone.

Taking a long drag from his thin cigar he rolled the smoke around on his tongue before letting it flow between his lips. The air filling with the scent of cloves and making the dark, decrepit building he had taken shelter in look like a heavy fog had rolled inside of it.

As he leaned against a broken pillar the Disciple began to fall victim to his memories again. He had a lot of memories but he ones that haunted him were his earliest. The ones before he had become what he was now.

“Dracian….” A soft voice called from the darkness. Dark eyes swept around the room searching for the source.

“Dracian!!” As the voice echoed around the room he slipped into the memories.

Sunlight warm on his skin as he shaded his eyes. A young girl with dark skin and hair came running towards him. “Clementina…” Her name rolled off his tongue with so much regret and sorrow. He had watched her age and die centuries ago and there was not a day he did not miss his little sister.

“Dracian!” She kept into his arms, wrapping her small arms around his neck. “Father says we will be moving soon. He says we will be passing by the haven of Irad.” She scrunched up her face. “What is Irad?”

He began to walk back towards the caravan. “A terrible monster that eats little girls.”

Clementina pouted. “Monsters aren’t real Dracian don’t you know that?”

“Oh no, they are very real.” He was one of them.

Suddenly the memory changed. Clementina was gone from his arms and Ravnos found himself inside a cave.

It’s high vaulted ceilings and stalagmites and stalactites cast deep shadows. His heart raced as he moved along the well beaten path. Further and further is lead him to the back of the cave before he came to a door. He knew what fate was there for him behind that door but he couldn’t stop himself from opening that door and stepping through.

The room he entered was smaller but still fairly vast. Books lined it’s walls as well as the numerous tables. Treasures were scattered all of the place. His eyes widened at the sight even though now he was rather unimpressed with it. He had seen it so many times it had lost it’s luster and appeal.

Ravnos moved along the tables before a gold hair pin caught his eye. It had golden flowers and rubies set in it. Clementina would have loved it if he had been able to get to her.

But the part of the memory he dreaded soon looked up behind him. A dark figure with dark hair and as equally dark eyes. “You dare steal from me…” Ravnos was froze, he knew what would come next. The feeling of those fangs in his neck were as real today as they were so long ago.

“You can never be with your family again.”

“Why?”

“Because you will kill them. This is your punishment for the vice you carry.”

And so had began his wander. Romani had always wandered but now his was eternal. He had avoided leadership responsibilities for the most part. Leaving it to those who actually are about it. And to be honest he did care are his clan. The misfits and thieves. Those who did not belong. Even among the other clans his did not belong. But that was fine. Let them fear what they will never understand sitting in their mansions.

The memory had faded but not the bitter taste of ash in his mouth. Ravnos was done with memories but they were never done with him.
