Feeling the heat of the sun begin to fade, Lotus sensed that the daylight was shifting toward dusk and exited the shelter of the willow tree. His movements were slow, graceful, and deliberate, developed out of necessity. His vision wasn't the best, and he feared that it was getting worse. Thankfully he had a small friend to rely on; it'd sadden him greatly if he were to trample on his beloved plants he tended to with such care.
As if hearing him thinking about her, Hawthoria moved between his front legs and looked up at him. "Where to this evening, Lotus?"
Giving it some thought, Lotus replied. "I think the herbal gardens today; I want to make sure they're growing correctly and if water is needed."
With a bob of her head, she led the way, making sure he was keeping pace with her.
