  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

It was dark by the time 8pm hit and Aella was already waiting for Ed in the courtyard with her bike. Normally she was the kind of person that would take too long getting ready and make the other person wait, but she didn’t want to take the chance of Ed simply leaving if she wasn’t there. He didn’t seem overly interested in going out, so she had a feeling he wouldn’t be too disappointed if he ended up staying in for the night. Along with that, perhaps she was a little nervous. This was the first time in a long time that would hit the town with someone else. There was also the possibility she would be recognised even with her wig and excessive amounts of eyeliner but after the events of the past week, she was stressed to the max and needed to let loose. Of all the people she could have invited out for this little adventure, Ed seemed like an odd choice. He wasn’t exactly the party type from what she’d seen. He always kind of stuck to the wall and just observed people, remaining polite, cordial, and absolutely boring. So why had she chosen him?

Well, he seemed like the perfect companion to temper her wild attitude. They weren’t exactly friends, but they weren’t not friends either. From what she’d heard, Ed had been the one to save her from the building when the earthquake was going on. She hadn’t taken the time to thank him or ask him about it and he hadn’t bothered to bring it up either so she wasn’t planning to broach the subject. Still, his actions had shown her he was trustworthy. After being saved in the earthquake, Aella felt confident he would bring her back in one piece if she got too trashed and she knew from previous experiences that he wasn’t the type to take advantage of someone. So really, he was kind of perfect for what she needed. Besides, she had promised him some fun.

She crossed her arms over her chest and looked around, wondering if it was time yet. Without a watch or a phone, Aella had no way of checking how much longer it would be before he showed up. When he did arrive, he’s see a girl about Aella’s size and build leaning back against a matte black, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R with one leg straight and one leg bent. She was wearing typical Aella clothing, tight pants with fashion rips, a leather jacked, and some stiletto boots and the girl also looked kind of like Aella, except her hair was straight, she had bangs and instead of it being colored black, it went from a deep shade of blue at her roots to an icy, near colorless blue and ended in a bright cyan at her tips. Said girl also smiled at him when he appeared and waved him over.

      “Hey Ed!”
She called in a very Aella sounding voice. “You excited?” Now that he had arrived, Aella put her black helmet on and then opened up the seat to pull out her spare, which happened to be white with designs in black and hot pink. Aella handed him the hot pink one. “Let’s hit the road.” She swung one leg over the seat and settled in then turned the machine on and revved up while she waited for Ed to get settled behind her.

He’d assumed the quip about hanging out had been parting banter that day back at the old apartment. After all, he was really one for the social life. So he was a little surprised when she hit him up for a night on the town and the promise of “fun”, as she put it. He wasn’t entirely sure what she considered fun but he could imagine it involved copious amounts of alcohol and loud music. That wasn’t exactly his bag, but a little variety couldn’t hurt. He checked his phone and saw it was about that time so he began to head down the stairs toward the exit.

Pushing it aside and taking in the night air, he could feel it was rich with the dampness of spring. Spring was always a nice time, things were growing and the chill and death of winter gave way to the warmth of live. A renewal for the natural world and for people as well, though he often wondered if they dwelt on that past the relief that the snow and ice were gone. Somehow in their busy lives, he doubted they stopped to take time and really just take in the world around them. Perhaps if they did, they wouldn’t be so apt to pollute it as they did. Speaking of busy—Édouard made his way to the court yard and saw the bike waiting for him. He could tell it was her even far off but the blue hair stuck out. As he wandered up, she seemed genuinely excited to be heading out and after calling out to him, she asked if he was. Maybe excited wasn’t the right word for it. He certainly wasn’t unhappy or disinterested (at least not totally) but he was a bit more subdued than she clearly was.

Before he could comment on the new look and ask what had prompted it, she was donning her helmet and retrieving his. He looked it over a second actually thinking the patterns looked interesting before giving the bike itself a once over for good measure. She seemed perfectly comfortable on it so he wasn’t concerned if she could ride it. He did briefly wonder about maintenance though. Matte black wasn’t bad, but he felt a gloss finish might make it ‘pop’ just a bit more. Of course, if it where his bike, he’d have gotten in red. Oh well.

He took the helmet and once it was firmly on his head, he mounted the bike and leaning forward a bit gave her a tap on the shoulder to indicate he was on. He gave a moment’s pause to contemplate when the last time he was on a motorcycle was. Long ago enough it wasn’t standing out in his memories. He’d mostly been doing horseback riding. It didn’t really matter—he wasn’t going to fall off or get uneasy about the speed; especially not the speed. As far as Édouard was concerned, the faster the better. He got the sense just by how she normally behaved that Aella probably like blazing off and paid little mind to the rules of the road unless traffic or the presence of law enforcement demanded it. He’d soon find out in any event.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

Aella hadn’t thought twice about Ed balking at the color pink, so it was good that he didn’t put up a fuss. She actually wasn’t trying to piss him off or anything, it just wasn’t her helmet. Aella preferred the dark colors. She liked blending into the shadows and being as unseen as possible when she was on her bike. Without any flashy colors to catch the eye of others, she was able to get away with a lot more s**t. The second helmet, had been something she’d bought for a friend. Her friend wasn’t overly fond of the bike and was highly picky about her choice of clothing. Their fashion sense was about as different as night and day, but somehow they had worked. In any case, she was doing her best to just ignore the fact that someone other than Autumn was wearing the helmet. It wasn’t easy to let others touch her stuff, but there was no other option either. Aella wasn’t cruel enough to make Ed ride without a helmet and Aella wasn’t going to risk it herself with how fast she liked to go.

“Hold on tight.” Aella told him as she revved the engine. Ed would already know how small she was since he rescued her from the dormitory earlier that week, but he would once again be reminded of it when he took hold of her. She had a very slender figure, not just because she exercised a lot and had a good metabolism to boot, but because her bone structure itself was delicately formed. Her bones had a lovely rhythm to them and were not as dense as the average human female. Just holding her hips the way Ed was could give that impression. His hands seemed large compared to their shapely form, thumb resting on the top edge of her oblique’s, pinky on the crunch of her pants where her thigh began. The front of his fingers could likely reach the front of her belt loops if he stretched them out and he would get the distinct feeling he might be able to crush her if he really tried. For all that, she never appeared to be weak and fragile when dealing with her, perhaps because of her abrasive personality and exaggerated height.

Exiting the school went slow-ish. Slow-ish for Aella anyway. She cruised quietly out of the parking lot, not wishing to draw too much attention as they left campus. Once they left the gates of the school property and were far enough into the trees that the school grounds could no longer be seen, Aella kicked him into high gear. The machine roared to life between her thighs and they suddenly sped off into the night, zipping along the windy a** road at speeds that were not safe. Despite this, Aella was in control of her machine. She was accustomed to riding with an extra rider and knew how to adjust the lean for the turns to keep them hugging tight. She was fully in her element, just her and the pavement with night pressing in around them and the wind whipping through her body. It wasn't an overly cold night, but with their increased speed, the chill was biting and unforgivable. Aella’s wig flapped behind her like a blue flame, slapping against Ed’s helmet and whipping his chest and neck. In hindsight, she should have worn gloves, but the frozen fingers were totally worth the twenty minutes of pure freedom and flight.

When they reached the foot of the mountain, Aella slowed her speed somewhat. These suburbs were full of rich, upper middle class homes with Karen's galore who were awake and drinking wine. The last thing she needed was to get a cop on her tail for speeding through a residential zone full of cranky, entitled people. Once they were moving out of the richer area and closer to a more densely populated outskirt of city, Aella pulled over into a gas station. Her tank was dangerously low. Like below E kind of low. She pulled her helmet off gently so as to not tug too hard on the wig that was pinned down to her real hair. Aella then smoothed down the faux hair and twisted around to look at Ed over her shoulder.

“Hey Ed?” She gave him a somewhat sheepish but equally cheeky smile, then bat her fake doll lashes all cute like at him. Only an idiot wouldn’t know what she was about to ask. “Can you pay for gas?”

Édouard leaned a bit as the bike began to move. He had expected a more energetic departure even if they were in the school parking lot. Still, once they were out and on their way, Aella opened the throttle a bit more. The feeling of the acceleration, the wind beginning to whip past them at ever increasing velocity—it was something that made him feel very much in the moment. As the pair began to zip along the winding curves of the road, he did his best to ignore that her wig was now flapping in the wind as if it had a mind of its own.

They were coming up to the base of the mountain. He still wasn’t terribly familiar with the area around the campus, but the mountain certain provided a nice backdrop to the region; which was now being cluttered by suburbia. He looked to his left then his right at the nice looking but boring homes full of equally boring people. It wasn’t long before the homes began to look a bit older, a bit more run down, and not unkempt but certainly not as pristinely cared for as the properties they’d passed a few moments prior. Looking over Aella’s shoulder he could see a gas station up ahead and by the amount of deceleration that she was going to make a stop there. Sure enough, the bike and its two occupants pulled off the road and under the awning, cozying up to one of the pumps.

As she turned the bike off, she slowly removed her helmet and then looked back at him. She started to lay on the charm and he knew what was coming next. Édouard sighed a little with a smirk and dismounted the bike. He reached up and pulled his helmet off and then set it over the tail end of her bike. “I suppose I can cover gas.” He said. As he did, he began to wonder something. If she couldn’t cover gas, what was she hoping to do out on the town? He assumed she’d hit him up for any expenditures but what if he’d not bothered to tag along? He turned to look at the storefront and then glanced her way once more. “You going to want anything from inside?” He asked her, contemplating if he wanted a pack of gum or something.

Awww, Ed was surprisingly thoughtful! Aella had expected him to agree to pay for gas, since his logical mind would put the pieces together and he’d realize it was pay for it or end up on public transit, but she didn’t expect him to offer her anything. Any other guy? Sure thing. It would have likely been expected. Ed was not just any other guy though. He was not the type to be swayed by a girl’s pretty face and other charming features and they weren’t even friends. It was even a stretch to consider Ed a friendly acquaintance, because sometimes they really did not get along so his offer caught her off guard. An unsure smile split her features, expressing the pleasantly surprised, happy feeling that made her regard Ed a bit differently but it also faltered on one side with uncertainty. Were strings attached? Why was he being all chivalrous and sweet all of a sudden? Should she trust it?

You know what? ******** it. Her intuition was ******** anyway, why even bother at this point, right? Just look at what happened with the professor. Things really couldn’t get worse. “Sure.” Aella committed to her decision and her smile widened as her lashes narrowed, adopting a bit of a sauciness to her demeanor. “Surprise me.” She waited for him to either run his card on the machine or go inside and wait for the numbers to pull up on the pump before she lifted the handle and fed the nozzle into the hole.

Édouard nodded slightly and began making his way inside the gas station. He’d wait to see how much the tank ran her and then pay for it. It’d let him pay for everything at once. As he made his way to the door he glanced around quickly and pulled it open. The merry jingle of the bell over the door alerted the cashier to his arrival, not that they cared. A scrawny ginger-haired man in his early twenties sort of grunted an acknowledgment as the blonde man made his way toward the drinks. He wasn’t overly thirsty but he figured he could stand something. He wasn’t overly interested in the selection, which was surprisingly sparse.

As he browsed, the man behind the counter paid little mind to what he was doing. Clearly the attendant was bored out of his mind. Édouard stopped and thought about what Aella was planning for their activities. He thought of her remark about fake IDs and internally had a light chuckle. If anyone knew something about forging identities, it was him. Still, he wasn’t sure if bean pole back at the register would give him grief if he went for one of the adult beverages. He let his eyes shoot up to the ceiling corner. There was a mirror on his right. He glanced left and saw a camera there. It wouldn’t really matter unless someone noticed and the odds he’d ever be in this gas station again were remote enough that he doubted the footage would even be checked.
Quietly he opened the cooler door and took one last quick look at the mirror. If the man behind the counter could see him, the reverse was also true. He could see the distorted shape of the cashier hunched over looking at something. He grabbed a couple bottles of water and then as the door shut, he turned and slipped a small bottle of rum into the pocket. With that, he let out a small sigh and began walking toward the cash register. Before getting up to pay and finding out if his swipe had been clean, he grabbed a pack of gum. He tossed it on the small mat in front of the man and then placed the two bottles down. The man unenthusiastically asked if that was all and pointed out he was covering the gas, too. The guy rang up the total and Édouard frowned ever-so-slightly.

The prices had to be jacked up because it was a gas station and they wanted to get a little extra from each sale. He was about to slide his card into the reader until he glanced up and then pointed at the cigarettes behind the cashier. The guy gave him a hesitant look before grabbing the selected pack and tossing it down with his other goods. The guy asked if he was legal age—hardly a thorough way to keep minors from buying illicit goods. It crossed his mind that he might not have had to lift the bottle after all, but he couldn’t just wipe it out now. He punched up the card info and waited for the machine to authorize it. The cashier lazily asked him if he wanted a bag and he shook his head. He took the gum and cigarettes in one hand (after returning his card to his wallet and his wallet to the appropriate pocket) and then grabbed the water bottles with the other. He slid the cigarettes into his shirt pocket and then he offered a dry parting “Have a good night” to the register man who nodded and gave a rather flaccid wave in response.

He quietly exited the building and began walking back toward the pump where Aella and her bike were waiting. As he reached her he tossed one of the water bottles to her and then opened the other and guzzled it so as not to have to hold onto it. Almost as soon as he was done, he went over and put the empty, crumpled, bottle into the trash and then tossed her the pack of gum. “Spearmint.” He said as though that meant something. While he was grabbing the helmet, it was clear there was something in his shirt’s breast pocket. The bottle was harder to detect because he was wearing black pants so there wasn’t as much in the way of shadows to give it away.

He swung his leg over the backend of the bike and once he was seated, he reached up and slid the helmet over his head and made sure it was snug. He glanced over at her and informed her he was ready whenever she was. He wasn’t sure if water and gum was something she was what she had been expecting but, the other things were for later. He had the sneaking suspicion that this wasn’t the last time he’d have to pay for something before dawn came and so if he figured if he wanted to tighten the purse strings so to speak, the shoplifted rum might serve as an easy backup.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

While Ed was taking advantage of his five finger discount, Aella simply waited at the pump for the money to register. He sure was taking a while though, which left her just kind of leaning on her bike waiting for something to happen. It was times like these she really wished she had a phone or something to pretend like she was busy with. Having your head down with your attention on a little screen sent the message, ‘Go away, I’m too busy to give you the time of day,’ whereas simply standing around watching the cars go by sent the message, ‘I’m super available and waiting around just for you!’ clearly a girl couldn’t just chill by her bike without having someone come up and try to start a conversation.

A barely audible groan purred in her throat as she spotted someone chillin with his bro’s flip up his hoodie and get that swagger going as he came around from the backside of the gas station where people smoked and pissed in the bushes when they couldn’t wait for the door to unlock. Ugh, no. Just no. Aella shifted about her bike to turn her back to the guy, secretly hoping that he would just take the hint and go away even though that never actually worked. One could dream at least.

“Hey beautiful,” Came a confident voice from behind. “I haven’t seen you before.” Aella rolled her eyes at nothing and turned around with the fakest half smile she could muster.

“My boyfriend and I are just passing through.” She informed him flatly.

He nodded, but the stupid smirk on his thin face didn’t go away. “Coo coo, sounds chill.” The money popped up on the pump finally, but the guy was standing between her and the pump now. God, she just couldn’t catch a break, could she.

“Excuse me.” Aella tried to push past him, but the guy stepped in front of her.

“Hey now, not so fast baby girl. A guy like me could treat you so good you won’t even remember you had a boyfriend. What do you say?”

“I’ll pass, thanks.” She tried to get past him again but he stepped in front of her once more.

“Come on, what’s it gonna hurt? Why don’t you gimme your number then? In case you change your mind?”

“I don’t have a phone.” She crossed her arms over her chest. This was getting uncomfortable.

      “Whaaaat? Everyone’s got a phone.”

      “Well I don’t.”

“You lyin about havin a boyfriend too?”

Thankfully Ed was coming out. Aella was able to get the guy to move out of her way and take a few steps back so she could actually start filling up her gas tank. Ugh, guys were so annoying sometimes. It was even more annoying that it took Ed’s physical presence to make the guys back off. Ed didn’t even have to do anything, he just needed to be there. Like a giant walking cut out that Aella could point to and say that’s my boyfriend. Still, the guy hadn’t completely gone away. He was leaning against the opposing pump, watching them as she set the nozzle up to autofill. Ed might notice the guy sizing him up, thinking on whether or not Ed was ‘deserving’ of such a hot girl. Clearly the guy with his cigarette tucked behind his ear and his pants falling halfway down his a** was more deserving. Aella was just glad she didn’t have to talk to him anymore, because she was so far from interested.

A smile graced her features at Ed’s return and she caught the water bottle. Well, that was original. “Thanks.” Aella said, a wry smirk curling at the corner of her lips. Ed might have been the godfather when he wasn’t at school but he was still such a straight arrow. Ah well, she appreciated the hydration. She was going to need it later. She also caught the pack of gum without fumbling. Nice! Aella loved minty breath fresheners. She wasted no time in pulling a stick out and popping one in her mouth. Both the water bottle and pack of gum needed to be stashed in her bike so she had Ed lift one of his legs up so she could get to the storage space under it. The pump clicked and Aella replaced the nozzle, quickly popping her helmet on and swinging onto the two person vehicle. Without a word she kicked off, zooming into the night.

It took another fifteen minutes or so of city traffic to get to the rave. It was something she’d been looking forward to for weeks. This wasn’t one of the clubs she’d been working at where the men were all about whose watch cost more or who was wearing Armani or not. From the looks of the area, this was not the place for bottle service or VIP seating. They were in the middle of a rundown portion of warehouses somewhat off from the warf but still close enough to the water that you could smell the salt and feel the sea breeze rolling in off the ocean. It was early still, but the fog was beginning to roll in, making the streetlamps glow with warm halos. Aella parked in front of a nondescript building that was tagged to high heaven like many of the other flat, rectangular looking buildings on the same street.

“Let’s go.” She said, pulling her helmet off carefully and unlocking the storage boxes on the bike so they could be properly stored without worry of theft whilst they were gone.

Édouard had noticed the area they were heading was…Not the type of area he had been assuming she’d take him. As the bike began to slow he gathered they were coming to their destination. She stopped the bike and began to put her helmet away. Where had she taken him? This looked more like she was meeting some Don, not going to drink and carry on. He took off the helmet and noted the fog coming in as well. He put the helmet in its proper stowage bin and then adjusted himself a bit. She urged him to get a move on and slowly he began to follow her lead toward the door and what he could only assume was club. Or perhaps not assume so much as hope. He wasn’t on edge exactly. That would imply something made him nervous but he wasn’t a creature of the club scene, either. He sized up the doorway and then looked around for any signs of other patrons. It was early, even he knew that much. But, this was unfamiliar territory and he wasn’t sure what sort of crowd would come down the docks to party. His mind didn’t lead him toward the upstanding elements of society. But, Aella seemed comfortable enough. “Have you been here before?” He asked seeing if he could get anything about the place out of her so he had some idea as to what he was walking into.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

"No but I've been wanting to, they haven't had one in our area in a while."

Two tickets were stored in a zippered pocket in her jacket, which she began to fish out as she walked around to a set of stairs that led down to a door with no handle and a red light hanging over it. Aella knocked twice and the door opened to a man sitting on a stool. Now that the door was open, a heavy base could be heard reverberating from inside, beating like a heart deep within. The man was dressed in the typical security outfit, black shirt, black jeans, and bold white letters across his back that said SECURITY in all caps. He also had a utility belt, a mini flashlight, and an earpiece that coiled into his s**t and probably plugged into the walkie talkie at his waist. He held out his hand to them, his expression bored and uninterested.

“ID’s?” Aella placed hers into his palm and he waited for Ed to do the same. They were briefly flashed with the blacklight before being handed back and one had to wonder if he had actually checked or just made the show of it. Either way, the two were waved in and pointed down the hall. Unfortunately, no wristbands for them since they weren’t old enough to get away with fake ID’s for drinking. Simple adulthood was enough of a stretch for the young teens.

Behind him stretched a hallway that was dimly lit by a red light further in with brick walls and pipes that ran along the ceiling. Silhouettes of people could be seen littering the hallway, loitering around for no particular reason. As they ventured further in, the sound became louder and the heavy bass was accompanied by other electronic sounds that were fast paced or rhythmic. The wallway was decently long but before they got to the split, they came upon a desk with a cash box and some stamps. Aella handed the tickets over when prompted and they were both given stamps. When they got to the end of the hall, stairs to the lower level went right while a hall to the bathrooms went left. Luckily for them both, Aella wasn’t one of those girls that needed to pee every five minutes, so she was good.

Aella glanced cheerfully over her shoulder as they descended the stairwell, excitement growing on her face now that they had finally gotten in. “Fun starts now!” Aella called to him and took his hand so she could lace her fingers between his and drag him down the rest of the steps where the area opened up into a large, open warehouse filled with moving people and flashing lights. It was easy for her to navigate the crowd, squeezing in between the hot bodies to find slim pockets of space just barely large enough to not be bumped into. Ed had very little choice but to follow along lest he get whiplash from the way she swerved through the crowd. When she felt like they were in the thick of it, she stopped and released his hand so she could turn and face him.

Already her body was setting into motion. The heart of the music was washing through her and taking control. She could feel it in her soul, dictating the rate of her pulse and the movement of her hips. “Is this your first Rave?” She yelled at the top of her lungs, though he would barely hear her over the deafening sound.

“Eyyy!” Someone else moving through the crowd came through them, some half naked dude with neon dreads and some fierce glow paint on his body. He deposited a glow necklace on the top of Ed’s head before turning to Aella to half shake half high five her as he passed. She felt something small transfer from his palm to hers and when she looked down she saw two tic tac shapes.

“Thanks!” She shouted as they moved into the next crowd and turned back to shoot her some finger guns before disappearing. Aella plucked one from her palm and attempted to pop it straight into Ed’s mouth. “Have a candy!”

Édouard followed her as she headed toward her red-lit door. He was silent as she knocked to gain entry and dutifully handed his ID to the large man working the front. It wasn’t like he had a choice if he wanted entry. He didn’t seem to give the IDs any real inspection at all. A moment’s pause and they were on their way down the old industrial looking hall. The vibrations of the music passed through him like waves on the ocean and he wasn’t sure if he liked it or not. They passed my dimly lit figures spattered around the hall and he made sure to glance at all of them in passing.

Suddenly, they’d reached the cash box and he held out his hand to be stamped the way Aella had and they reached the split. He hadn’t paid much attention to what was down the right stairs as Aella had taken his hand and gripped it firmly to lead him to where the music was emanating from. Heading down she informed him the “fun” was starting. He’d have to determine if that was the case later but she seemed to be enjoying herself. She was giving off a very enthusiastic energy and he couldn’t help but notice how different they two of them were at that moment. To be expected. This was her environment. This was the kind of world she knew and knew very well from what he gathered.

The pair reached the bottom of the stairs and the space opened into the rest of the warehouse. It was a sea of writhing people and noise. There was no time to take in the sight itself as Aella began weaving and darting her way through the gyrating masses, still clutching his hand. He had no choice but to move as she did and keep his eyes peeled for a stray arm or someone’s hip jutting into his path. There was hardly room to breathe and God forbid there be a fire in a sardine can of a building like this. The fire and smoke would kill whole swaths of people and the rest would be trampled in the mad dash for the exit. He tried his best to keep up with his guide and before he knew it, she’d stopped in an area that seemed even more densely packed than the rest of it—if that were possible.

She released his hand and turned to him, clearly very happy to be in the moment. Her body was already moving to the beat of the music. Music seemed to hold a deep sway over the raven hair woman as he knew she was fond of dancing. She yelled out asking if this was his first rave. He nodded with a small smile. “Yes, it is.” He shouted over the blaring music. He’d no more than answered her when a strange looking man with no shirt slipped in between them. The man had reached up placing a glow necklace on top of his head. His eyes darted up and then shot back down to watch the man give Aella some sort of greeting. Then the dreadlocked fellow vanished into the pulsating shapes of the crowd around them. Édouard looked at her to see if she’d give him any sort of explanation as to if this meant anything or not. He’d no more looked at her when she was trying to put something into his mouth.
Instinctively he recoiled from her “candy” and raised an eyebrow. He’d never been to a rave, this was true, but he wasn’t completely unaware of them. He felt something gently push into his back and glanced over his shoulder. The man behind him was now dancing away as happy as a clam back to back with Édouard. This was certainly something. He smirked a bit and moved in a little past her hand and shouted out. “Why Aella, you wouldn’t be trying to introduce me to ‘Molly’ would you?” He asked while pushing the glow necklace up on his head some.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

Some people might have taken offense to the way Ed recoiled from the little white pill, but Aella didn't seem put off in the slightest. Amusement tugged the corners of her plush lips into a wry smile and her eyes twinkled with a bit of mischief. "Maybe?" She grinned, not even hiding the impish energy that exuded from her expression. Flashing lights of red and blue blended together on her lovely features, washing her in a mostly purple hue. Hints of warm crimson and the cool ultramarine could be seen reflecting on the smooth angles of her face but for the most part, she looked very much like a personification of the cheshire cat. Aella seemed to be as aloof as the cat as well since she simply shrugged off his aversion.

I guess we'll find out!" She yelled at him and popped one into her own mouth. Just like a tic tac, it was coated in a sweet minty flavor that freshened the breath. She let it roll around for a minute, enjoying the flavor and the faux 'clean' feeling the mint left behind. Truly, she did not know if the tic-tac was what it claimed to be or not but she was afraid there would be a bitter interior so she didn't let it linger for too long. "If you change your mind!" Aella offered him the pill, allowing him to pluck it up for himself to stash away or take or throw into the crowd or whatever he wanted to do with it and immediately went back into motion.

Her movements were a mixture of sharp hits and rolling isolations which was fine because even though space was limited, she had enough to move around a bit without smacking anyone. On top of that, she was also more conscious about her environment. That of course would change as the night went on. Even without any alcohol or drugs, the music would eventually seep into her body and take control, drowning out any thoughts or worries as her heartrate sped up and her endorphin levels rose. For now, she was just getting started so her interest remained on Ed, curious to see what he would do in this setting.

Crystalline eyes twinkled from behind the heavy veil of lashes and the sleek, foxy look her eyeliner style lent to her elegant features as she watched Ed curiously. Did he actually have some moves hidden under his dry exterior? Was he going to try and vibe a bit, get a little bob or head nod going? Or was he exactly the way she perceived? Part of her wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he just stood there with his hands in his pockets like a wet napkin.

Édouard watched as Aella popped one of the tic tac shaped pills into her mouth without a care. She kept the offer open to him, but he wasn’t terribly inclined to partake. He wasn’t sure exactly what it was and in an unfamiliar environment, he felt it better to stay sober-minded. He took it all the same but slipped it into his breast pocket. After patting the pocket to signify the pill was safe and sound, hidden away in its cloth prison, he returned his attention to Aella who had wasted no time starting to dance and move about with the beat of the music.

As he watched her dance, he became aware that she was eyeing him over. There was a look of almost expectation to her face. She was waiting to see what he’d do. He’d never hesitate to admit that this wasn’t his kind of place nor was this his kind of leisure activity. He would slow dance if given no other choice and in the right setting but this? This was not such a setting. He pondered momentarily what she was thinking of him. It was no secret that she thought he was kind of wooden in his personality and activities. That wasn’t terribly inaccurate the more he thought on it. In a venue like this, he was more likely to drift to a wall and just watch and she knew it. But that was difficult with the writhing mass of people in between him and the dark corners of the warehouse.

He didn’t want to give her the satisfaction if she was banking on him just standing there. He reached up and adjusted his headwear and then shrugged a bit and reached into his pocket and in one simple motion, popped the pill into his mouth and swallowed. For all he knew it was just a tic-tac. If it was something more, he’d find out soon enough. He took a second to listen to the music and despite his personal belief that most club music sounded like a computer being thrown into washing machine to die, the beat was certainly catchy. Before long, his concentration on the beat of the music had caused him to involuntarily bob his head.

He closed his eyes, and began to just let his body react to the sound. Very quickly any pretense he had about why he was doing it was gone. Taking some time to enjoy himself wasn’t a crime and if he could have a bit of fun here, then why not go for it? Aella certainly was on her way to doing just that.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

As expected, Ed was very much out of place. He didn’t seem to know how to dance to relax in any way. His posture was stiff, his face was stony, and with his shades on he looked more like some kind of hired bodyguard for a spoiled heiress that had dragged her security along for a wild night out. What she didn’t expect was for him to throw caution to the wind and actually take the tic tac! Both of her sculpted eyebrows shot up high on her face and her fake lashes flashed wide at the sight of him digging out the little pill from his pocket. Honestly, she thought it was going in there to die and either get tossed at first chance or end up dissolving in the wash so watching him throw caution to the wind and popping it took her completely by surprise! Ed would even have the satisfaction of seeing her angled jaw drop wide open, both shocked and impressed as she let out a loud whoop that could be heard over the music. Now it really was a party! Even if there was nothing in the little candies, just the fact that Ed had decided to go with the unknown was enough. Boy was committed to this night and was even starting to bob!

Since he was loosening up, she stopped watching him so intensely and let herself go a bit. Being a dancer and growing up dancing on the streets with all the other foster kids and children at the youth center who didn’t want to go back home, Aella had developed a solid street style. Combined with the burlesque and strip dancing lessons she took with Autumn while Autumn was pole dancing for a living, she naturally took up a lot of space when she really got going. The people around them began easing away, giving Aella and Ed a tiny bit more space to themselves so they wouldn’t get whacked in the face by the plastic ends of her wig every time she did a head roll or a bend and snap. Ed too might even want to back up a bit, since he was also in danger of being whipped by the violent flip of her hair or the large arm movements she made. For all of that though, her feet either stayed planted or made very small movements like side to side, criss crossing, rocks, weight shifts, and spinning in place.

It didn’t take long for her body to heat up past the point of being comfortable and quickly unzipped the fitted leather. In hindsight, she should have left her jacket locked in her bike since she didn’t think they would have a coat check in a place like this but also she wasn’t about to go all the way back when they were just getting started. At least she took it off before she got sweaty. Peeling polyester off wet, sticky skin was the literal worst. The fresh air felt nice against her flushed skin, which was far more exposed since her jacket had been shed. Depending of Ed’s sense of fashion and how well his sharp stare could see through his glasses, he might notice she was actually wearing a lace bralette rather than a crop shirt. There wasn’t too much difference- except that crop tops were lined and bralettes were not. Aella’s top wasn’t lined with anything which meant her creamy skin could be seen through the holes in the lace, but the design was thick enough that the important bits were covered (at least she felt they were covered well enough). Besides, who could really see all that well in the flashing lights and darkness anyway? At least she wasn’t going to overheat.

One hand slipped behind her head to fluff the back of her hair up in order to create more airflow to the base of her skull and the other reached out toward Ed. “Hold this!” Aella asked and more or less slung her jacket over his shoulder, assuming he would take responsibility for her discarded item since he was just bobbing his head around. Wasn’t like it was a hard ask and his hands weren’t doing anything anyway. "Thanks!"

She resumed dancing, unaware of some of the stares they were now getting. According to general standards, Aella was considered a bombshell. She was model slim, toned in all the right places, on the taller side (especially with heels), and had the right level of dark and sultry make up that would turn heads. Even with her jacket on she naturally drew attention, though now that it was off and her body was moving to the music she was getting even more stares from the single men looking to score. Ed also got a bunch of attention, since he was with her and clearly not up to her level in dance or height leaving people to wonder if he actually was her chaperone for the night or if the b*****d was something more.

Édouard watched her as she began to move more freely. Like the crowd around them, he gave her as much room as they could so that the risk of contact was reduced. He let his eyes wander to the rest of crowd. He wondered what most of the people around them were like outside of the club scene. He still wasn’t doing a whole lot in terms of dancing. This wasn’t his thing. He pondered if the pill he popped would start having any noticeable effects on him soon. Honesty, he would be kind of disappointed if it had ended up being something mundane. Though he couldn’t fathom why anyone would be passing out something inert in an environment like this.

His eyes returned to Aella, who was just starting to unzip her jacket. He did wonder why she’d kept it on. This place was crammed full of active people and that meant there would be a lot of heat generated. In the flashing colors of the club’s lighting he watched her finally remove the jacket and then she just draped it on his shoulder. It was typical Aella presumptiveness. She was just assuming he’d take it and not hand it off to some random person writhing around next to them or drop it on the floor to get trampled on. The fact that she was right wasn’t the point. He reached up his hand and grabbed onto the color to ensure it didn’t slide off his shoulder onto the concrete below them and get ruined.

Her top wasn’t overly revealing per say but it certainly wasn’t a modest choice by any metric. It gave enough of a show for those close to her to catch the attention of anyone taking a good look and it didn’t take long for the vultures to notice. Édouard would catch the gawking out of the corner of his eye. She seemed totally oblivious that she was being ogled by the men around them. Yet her sharp dancing and her soft-looking curves weren’t the only things drawing attention. He was also aware that his presence had attracted some attention as well. He’d noticed several men staring at Aella glance at him and look away before watching him. Some were more discreet than others, but there they were. It amused him a bit. It was like the hyenas unsure if they could approach the lion’s fresh kill or if the lion would lash out the moment they dared encroach on his claim.

It was so painfully clear what they wanted and that they weren’t entirely confident enough with him around to make their move. The jacket over his shoulder didn’t make them feel any better. That meant there was familiarity between the two of them. As he just sort of stewed in the stuffy air of the club and its tightly-packed people and loud music that pulsed through the entire body with every beat, he took a step back in. It wasn’t much and while he wasn’t close enough to worry about getting whipped in the face by her wig, he’d re-entered the small space the crowd had given her. Just a tiny bit of assertiveness to keep the less willful at bay as she was his ride and he didn’t want her to wander off with some stranger and disappear to who knew where and leave him back here to get a cab back to the school.

  • I'm the violence in the pouring rain.

While he didn’t seem all that happy about it, Aella was pleased he obliged her and took her jacket anyway. There was a subtle curl in the corners of her plush lips that indicated she knew she was being a brat by more or less tossing it on him, and she wasn’t the least bit sorry about it either. Despite his dubious background, she enjoyed testing his limits. There was something fun and exciting about pushing someone’s buttons until you found that line. Granted, actually discovering the line wasn't always a walk in the park. When some people had enough they turned really ugly. However she couldn’t deny the little thrill of testing someone’s limits.

With Ed, she very much felt like she was playing with fire. Under his calm, icy exterior lurked a violent darkness, but that was exactly the reason why acting out around him was so thrilling. How much could she get away with before he was fed up? And what exactly would he do at that point? Would his frustration be sexy, explosive, or the boring? Likely the latter she surmised. Aella wasn’t actively trying to piss him off so if he got annoyed with her antics he’d probably just get in a cab and go home, but she was going to thoroughly enjoy playing with him outside of his comfort zone until then!

Or that’s what she thought. As it turned out, the candy really was their good friend Molly. They were a few songs in now and the drug was beginning to take effect in a slow, creeping way that most wouldn’t notice. Being the hyper aware guy that he was, Ed might take note of the changes in his body more than Aella did or perhaps he might simply notice the outward physical signs she exhibited first. Her dancing began to change as the drug began to increase the dopamine and seratonin levels in her brain. The music vibrating through her core seemed to consume her, as if it was a hive mind welcoming her into its swarm. She could feel it moving through her, like a heat through her veins. It didn’t burn like fire to the touch so much as it gave her a dull, pleasant warmth that made her feel safe and comfortable.

Rather than moving her body to the rapid beats, drums, and high hats, she had shifted into a smoother style that picked out the melodic tones of the smooth trance breakdowns, chopped up female vocals, and the low undulating baseline. Ed might also notice Aella touching herself more. The large arm movements, head rolls, turns, and floor drops had been replaced by smaller movements that emphasized parts of her body, drawing attention to things like how her breasts strained against the delicate lace fabric when her body arched. Each roll of her body began with her chest popping forward, causing the lace to pull taught over the supple forms. She was aware now of how the lace moved across her skin, a little soft and a little scratchy. The fabric teased her nerves with every movement as if to remind her they existed. Had lace always felt like this or had she just forgotten it? Perhaps it was the music breathing life into her that made her feel so alive.

Her own fingers drew up along her body, tracing the delicate bottom of her ribcage to her sternum until her hands met. Both hands ghosted over her breasts, along her collarbones, and up the elegant curve of her neck before they disappeared under her wig. The fake hair didn’t feel all that great. It was a cheap almost plastic material that she thought might actually feel better being lashed against the skin rather than rubbed against. But you know what did feel good? Her own hair. Aella’s fingers splayed against her skull underneath the netted cap and in one motion she had tossed the wig off.

“Oh my god, this feels amaaaaaazig…” Aella’s eyes rolled back into her head as she shook her voluminous locks free. It was so soft and silky like a cloud and satin all rolled into one and when she ran her fingers through it, the strands tickled the insides of her fingers- but it didn’t tickle. It was like hundreds of little explosions of good feeling happening all at the same time which was so entirely fascinating. Thick lashes fluttered open but they hung low over her crystalline eyes which looked dull and happy now that the drugs had kicked in. Along with that, a carefree smile played on her lips as she stepped toward Ed and hung her arms up on his shoulders. “Feel my hair!” She shouted over the music and straight up nuzzled into him so she could rub the side of her head to his cheek. “Isn’t it amaaaaazing?”
