Needing a bit of a...breather, Achak padded off to a quiet spot, a short distance from where the yearly gathering and festivals that brought the clans together was in full swing. He had to admit, it was...rather nice, to see so many faces, both familiar and not, interacting with one another - but the number of considering, evaluating glances that were slanted his way as members of other clans recognized the Sky clan's future nvwati brought all of his insecurities to the forefront, leaving him having to resist shrinking back from what he was sure was the perception that he wasn't enough.
Heaving a sigh of relief, he flopped down onto the hard-packed dirt, glad for some peace, where he felt as though he wasn't constantly being judged, in some way, shape or form.

Achak jolted visibly, his gaze raising to meet the other adolescent's in surprise. Where had the other youth come from?! Had he been so distracted that he hadn't heard him approach?! Almost immediately, his gaze dropped to his paws, and he scrambled to his feet before forcing himself to look back up at Njano, inclining his head and giving him a deliberate, slightly stilted smile. "Greetings. Y-yes, it certainly is! It's definitely...hectic, compared to being around just one clan." And truthfully, Achak spent most of his time feeling slightly removed from that, making the hustle and bustle of the annual gathering feel that much more...well, more.
But that's to be expected, with how rarely the clans all come together..." It was impossible to notice that both of them didn't...really fit the more natural coloring that was so prevalent in the pride. It wasn't like he'd never seen another lion outside of his family that was equally bright, but it was certainly unusual.
"Ah!" he exclaimed softly, embarrassed at his oversight. "Achak Dikanodi...it's a pleasure to meet you!" He inclined his head slightly, attempting to regain some of the dignity that he felt like was...expected. "A...are you competing this year?" he finally asked, after letting a slightly awkward (at least on his side) silence fall for a few moments.
