Name: Hinto (meaning: having deep blue eyes)
Personality: Hinto is rambunctious cub, full of energy and life. They love to sing and dance and explore, learning new things about the world around them. It's rare to see Hinto down or sad and they are usually the one to lift the spirits of those around them, whether its through jokes and playing or a being a quiet, listening ear. On those rare occasions where Hinto is hurt or upset, they prefer to be alone and will avoid contact with anyone to mull over their problems on their own and will try to keep those who wish to help at bay. As they grow Hinto will need to learn that it's okay to be sad, mad, or upset, and that no one will think less of them for being the one that needs support rather than being the strong pillar for their friends and family. So long as the proper nurturing is given Hinto will turn out to be a centered, focused lion, but if Hinto's preference for seeking out solitude when being upset prevails, they'll become a bit cold and distant in their adult life.

Name: Salali (meaning: Squirrel)
Personality: Quiet and stand-offish at the worst of times, Salali has problems making friends. She often disregards what's going on around her, and would rather stick to her paints and dyes than be around other people. That said, she has a passion for painting. You are most likely to find her high up in a tree with a flat slab of rock, trying to recreate the sunset before it disappears. Perhaps someday she'll allow someone to get close, but it's likely that her snarky nature will chase off anyone that tries.

Name: Inola (meaning: Black fox)
Personality: Very energetic and basically always in your face about everything. If there's something going on, she wants to be there to hear about it! It's all in good nature - she really does just want to learn new things and make new friends - but it often comes off as annoying and intrusive. Unfortunately, she likely to become a bit of a gossip-monger when she's older, due to her inability to really keep quiet about anything, or perhaps she'll find an outlet to channel it through.

The second she decides that something needs to be done, she starts doing it. She's incredibly friendly and loving, though her get-things-done attitude may come off as a little aloof. As an adult, she'll probably search for a mate who can teach her to slow things down a little and learn that not everything is a task on a checklist - some things can be put off or left alone entirely.

Personality: Kalona is incredibly intelligent and clever, but a little on the wary side. New people, new places, new situations, new anything and she'll be cautious and on guard until she puts all the pieces together. She's openly suspicious, which can put some people off, but really she's just being careful. Once she's got it all figured out, she's friendly and bright, but prefers to keep her circle small, choosing instead to form a few very devoted connections.

Personality: Liluye is an intelligent girl whose mind is always turning. She is always looking for new things to discover, new places to explore, or new skills and information to learn. She finds the world an absolutely fascinating place, and has a dauntless personality to drive her through it. She still holds family very dear, but can sometimes be sidetracked and have to reel herself back in.

Name: Awinita (meaning: One who loves social life; fawn)
Personality:

An absolute social butterfly and artistic soul, this child can and will find the positive in anyone or any situation. She will be gifted early on with the ability to empathically shoulder others and most likely will end up being the support of her siblings and friends when things don’t go quite right. This trait of hers will also likely cause a lot of strain for herself, as Awinita will often have trouble allowing herself to take time for herself.

As she grows, Awinita could find herself rather stressed. She would keep on giving and not get all that much back, potentially even getting taken advantage of when word gets out that she has a hard time saying no. This could end up with her self-loathing in early adulthood, however, with the right friend and maybe eventual love interest, she will learn to find her boundaries. If her family were to coax her earlier to find a happy medium between helping others and helping herself, she could definitely be a strong female that lifts her clan’s spirits immensely.

She’d be known for her guidance and also the birthday gifts she creates for her friends and family. Everything and anything could be made into a little ornament for the wrist or hair, perhaps even the ears. Nature will be her market and muse. Some might call her a bit superficial, as she would spend a lot of time doting on hers and her friends appearances, however she herself would see nothing wrong with it.

Overall, her nature would be appeasing and welcoming to many, garnering her many friends from various walks of life.

Personality: This lighthearted cub calls it like it is, and sees whimsy and adventure in everything. All you have to do is be bold as she is, and she'll happily show you to it! While perfectly friendly, it's easy for Jora to be a bit too straightforward with her thoughts, and for her well-intentioned words and deeds to come out reckless instead. Her youthful exuberance may sometimes offend others, but she isn't trying to - she's just so excited to show off this thing she found, you guys!

With time, she may just learn how to round the corners off of her enthusiasm, and put an otherwise bright, observant mind to use for things other than play. But for now, a sheer-though-a-bit-naive love for the life surrounding her means that there's much to discover, and Jora wants to know it all.

Name: Njala (meaning: starling, Chichewa)
Personality: Njala's most notable feature are her eyes: deep blue and almost always wide with wonder. While generally a quiet child, Njala has big dreams and an imagination that often means her head is up in the clouds. She adores stories and story-telling, especially those that involve great heroes and grand feats. Come to ask her, she's going to be one of those heroes one day - even if she has no idea how just yet. She's also got a bit of rose-tinted glasses: try to convince her of the difficulty and intense labor that goes into some of those heroes' journeys, and she'll still only see the glory.

If the little lady seems withdrawn, it's not always because she's in her own head (although that is certainly possible). It may be because she is constantly watching and listening, generally able to take in information that others might consider over her head. Why be nosy? Well, anything can be the start of a great story - or even the beginning of her own personal legacy.

Personality: Caring, adaptable and creative, Změna can be somewhat hard to predict...although her compassion underpins her decision-making. She's also independent, driven, and stubborn, with a willingness to disregard authority. To sum it up a little bit more cohesively, she's the sort who isn't set on traditional solutions to a problem, and won't hesitate to speak up, or go further still if it's what she thinks it's important, regardless of the consequences that might come from her actions (now, given how the ela are, I don't foresee a ton of things for her to get too fired up about, but yeah).

Name: Varis ("Crow" in Finnish)
Personality: Sharp-witted and curious, Varis is always in and out of minor scrapes - she finds it hard to resist trying to figure out how things work, an interest that extends to how others think...and so can sometimes prompt her to ask questions that extend far beyond common courtesy. She has little patience with vague or wishy-washy answers, or with those who aren't able to follow her lines of thought, often resulting in abrupt and/or sarcastic replies in social settings.

She's observant enough to realize how her curiosity can come across, so as she gets older, I see her being more introverted, and inclined to hang back in social settings, so as to avoid making others too uncomfortable.
