Thwayya had taken to wandering the pride on her own especially after the adventure she had with Cillian. He'd been kind enough to allow her to tag along his exploration and even though they got to a minor bloody start ; the two seemed to get along just fine.
Parting ways with out so much as a new plan for a next meeting seemed wrong so Thwayya had mentioned she'd yet to explore the cliffs leaving the invite opened which was why today she was by the steep cliffs laying in wait for a familiar ghostly lion. She'd find out soon enough if he remembered the invitation and , possibly, if he'd had as much fun as she had. Fun wasn't the only objective either as Thwayya hadn't had a friend in so long it was nice to actually have some one to talk to even if the conversation wasn't too long.
To be clear the lioness was at the base of the cliffs. Climbing seemed like it would be a lot more fun in a pair than to brave the steep walls on her own. Not that Thwayya wouldn't climb on her own but having a friend with her seemed a little safer and less dull.
Hopefully that ghost lion would show.

Cillian was still not quite certain of what to make of Thwayya. She seemed a bit...odd? But then, he could not deny that he was odd himself, perhaps they were not so different. She had been nice to him, and he had enjoyed the time they'd spent exploring together. Making friends, this was what he needed, it was nice to have someone to talk to and share stories with. Okay, he could do this, friends. Deciding to take the lioness up on her offer, Cillian padded his way through the rocky land to reach the cliffs. He paused as he neared, a small smile on his maw as his gaze moved up the cliffs. Wow, that looked like fun. He quickened his pace, stopping when he reached the base of the cliffs. Oh, she was here already. "Hello again." A shy smile.

Thwayya felt a swell of joy that the pale ghost lion actually came. She had been worried that maybe he might not but the female wasn't sure where that worry had come from. If she had been in her younger days it would be probable that she'd have a bounce in her step when coming up to greet him but she was much more reserved now so her walk was that of some one much more mature. Yes, there was an energy to her step that would hint that she was happy to see him but it wasn't an overly telling or energetic type of walk. "You came," The smile she had was pretty wide and her eyes had an extra sparkle or two signifying her joy that Cillian was here. "I know these cliffs have a pretty good view of the pride and I figured we could climb to the top and study the layout a bit more." She was straight to business now excitedly going over her attack plan for climbing up the cliffs steep walls, "It's gonna be a little dangerous but after you handled my paw that one time I know you can handle this," She was joking.

"You invited me." Did she think he wouldn't come? He guessed that was normal, he wouldn't have necessarily expected someone he'd just met to meet him again either. But he had enjoyed her company enough the first time, and it was good for him to make friends. Right? Right. "Alright." He shot her a glance, a bit of a smirk on his maw, as if he had thought very hard of challenging her to a race to the top. The challenge left unspoken, Cillian turned his gaze toward the cliff, scanning the rocky wall, searching for the best path. Hmm...where to start... He approached the wall, rearing onto this hind legs, forepaws reaching upward. Ah, a narrow ledge, he could reach that. Using his forepaws, he caught the ledge, a hop from his hind end as he pulled himself upward. Whew, first step down...another billion left to go. "You coming?" Spider-lion, spider-lion...

Cillian was off before Thwayya could discuss a strategy much more which was enough to let the female know this was a competition. Time was not wasted by Thwayya to start placing claw to rock but she was doing her best to shuffle up the rock to catch up to Cillian. He was already a good deal ahead of her though. Possibly she could be his spider gwen to his spider lion or ghost spider or ghost spider lion ? One paw and another paw followed by another lifted the lioness higher up the wall. "I'm coming!" She called up after Cillian. As she did so one of her paws slipped momentarily causing her to have to scramble to regrip her claws to the rocky wall. The slip up was so quick but it felt like it lasted a lot longer for Thwayya. She did not show she had spooked her self on her face but inside she felt a chill go down her spine. This was real and the danger could not fully be ignored. "Coming!" She called up once again.

It seemed Cillian was well suited to cliff climbing, light and agile and sure-footed, the ghostly lion was already well on his way up the cliff wall. The spider-lion moved swiftly, paws finding the footholds and ledges that would guide him toward the top. A grin on his maw as he glanced down toward the lioness, this was fun. "Are you okay?" The lion paused, his eyes narrowed in thought as he looked above. Uh-oh, had he taken a wrong path? There seemed to be no path above him, no route to follow further up the cliff, he'd have to turn back and try another route....or would he. A grin, there, hidden in shadow, not directly above but diagonally to the right. He could reach that and pull himself up that way. A deep breath, Cillian reached upward as high as he could, forepaws sliding along the rock wall toward the pawhold. Just a bit further! The lion leapt, up and sideways, paws reaching for the ledge. For a moment he thought he would miss, but his paws caught the ledge, and with a grunt, rear paws scrambling against the rocks, he found his footing and pulled himself up. As he did, several small stones fell from the ledge on which he now perched. "Look out! Be careful, the path is harder to see up here." He was more than halfway, no stopping him now.

[ Rolling for climbing | 1 - Slips but doesn't fall | 2 - Climbs just fine with a little bit of struggling | 3 - Slips and falls a little but manages to catch self | 4 - Expert spider gwen climbing level ]Thwayya was already finding the path to be pretty difficult even before the warning was called out to her. She wasn't about to admit that just yet though and stubbornly sunk clawed paw after clawed paw in to a perceived grip in the wall of the cliff. Some areas were softer than she may have thought and crumbled in to a fine dusty substance causing the female to lose her grip momentary and nearly caused Twayya to fall. "SHIIIIIIIIIIII" She cried out before quickly correcting her self and finding a good spot to put her paw. The cry had been loud and obvious even if Cillian had missed the struggle he would have heard the commotion. A bit of red graced her cheeks after that episode but the female was far from giving up. One clawed paw after another she pulled her self up with quite the determined look. She may have messed up a little but there was no shame. At least Thwayya was not gonna let a little shame stop her. "Don't worry I think I've cleared it." She was being much more careful now where her paw landed. The top of the cliff was beginning to become in sight and hope and frustration kept the female from quitting.

Cillian was focused, using all of his concentration on climbing his way up the cliff. He looked upward, he could the top of the cliffs, not much further, he was sure he could make it. As he was reaching for the next ledge, the lioness' cry suddenly pierced his ears, startling him and breaking his concentration. A hind paw slipped against the rocks, his weight shifting painfully, talons grasping at the rocks with all his strength to hold himself to the ledge as his hind paws scrambled to find a foothold again. Small pebbles and debris fell as he struggled to pull himself to the next ledge before he lost his grip entirely. A heart-pounding moment that seemed to last an eternity, he at last found his footing and pulled himself to the next ledge, a surge of adrenaline pushing him to the next ledge. A deep breath, he fought the urge to just flop on the ledge where he was right then. It was wide enough, and high enough to look out over the pride, did they really need to reach the top? ...well that was a silly question.

Thwayya continued to pull her self up with one paw in front of the other only to pause and watch as Cillian lost a little of his footing. A little bit of rubble hit her in the face but it was the rush that Cillian could fall which gripped her more than a little bit of rubble. "ARE YOU OKAY?!" Came out a little delayed due to the shock. Cillian had already picked him self back up by the time her cry came out. Her ears flattened to the sides of her head feeling maybe the two were a little over their head. None sense though as the two were spider lions and they only had a little bit left to go. Thwayya lifted her paws once more and continued forward. "We're almost there.." Thwayya breathed, "Just a few more paws and we're there." It was unclear if she was talking to Cillian or if she was convincing her self. What ever the case the female was impressively pulling her self up like a true spider lion would.

"I'm fine." His reply came out as a grunt, mostly likely because at the moment he was reaching for the next pawhold, unwilling to give up on his climb to the top of the cliff. He was a spider-lion and this cliff would not defeat him! He was so close, the top was within his reach, not much further now. Not that he had not been telling himself that for the last several ledges, but now he was certain he was close. A look up, he could see sky above the rocks, he could totally see the top and knew he was but a few short steps from reaching it. A deep breath, Cillian summoned his determination, pushing himself to the ledge above, finding his paws, reaching for the top. At last, his felt his talons scrape the top most ledge, the peek of the cliff, a final push and he pulled himself up, kicking with his hind legs to find all the leverage he could. GRRRRR, HE COULD DO IT! On reaching the top, Cillian immediately flopped on his belly, his breath heavy, his heart beating so loud he could hear it ringing in his ears. Whew...made it, now he could rest. Oh. Creeping to the edge, he peered over to watch the lioness, perhaps even shouting a few words of encouragement to her if he could find his voice. "Just a little further."

Thwayya kept at it pulling her self up as she had kept doing and managed to avoid the spot where Cillian had slipped. Cillian had already pulled him self to the top and Thwayya was determined to do the same. The ghost lion had called out to her only fueling her determination to not be left behind. Finally after what seemed for ever the female felt the shelf and managed to pull her self up. The female mirrored the male and flopped on to her belly to catch her breath. If lions had to do gym class the two of them would have aced the rope part with their upper body strength. There was no way the female was getting up right now after that intense of a climb. Thwayya was content to lay where she was for now and focus on breathing. "I thought I was going to die.." She exhaled allowing her self the comfort of the shelf. She looked over for a moment and fell silent. "....... Cillian..." She pawed at the pale ghost lion, "...What the hell is that.." She gestured to the other side of the cliff.

"I think we almost did." But they had beaten it, they had reached the top. Cillian gave her a small tired smile, a victorious smile that certainly would have been much broader had he not used all of his energy on the climb up. A satisfied sigh, the ghostly lion allowed his eyes to close for a moment as he rested. "What?" The nudge from Thwayya stirred him from his thoughts, thoughts that may have entailed taking a nap where he laid and leaving the wondering of just how they were going to get back down the cliff to later. He opened his eyes, his gaze following where she had gestured. Oh for the--pushing himself to his paws, Cillian walked toward the edge, and there he saw it, a natural path in the rock wall that would have led them straight from the bottom all the way to the top. Cillian groaned, flopping back onto his belly with all four paws sprawling out in different directions, rolling his eyes at himself. "At least we won't die on the way back down."

Despite the fact that Cillian was right and Thwayya agreed did not erase her frown from her maw. This was the face paw moment of the year if there was to be one of those. But at least , as Cillian had pointed out, they would not die on the way down.
