Rolahi nodded politely to the first bronze rider on the scene, he seemed nice enough and the dragon who rose for him was absolutely huge, Zaleeth would be pleased at a bronze. "Yes a good night, great weather, she sure knows how to pick them." She gestured at the green who had blooded a herdbeast and taken off before the males.
The second bronze rider nearly face planted in the sand to get to her which made her smile for real. You know maybe it was good to be in a weyr again. So many handsome men vying for her attention. "I'm fine thank you, glad you didn't trip in your eagerness." Her voice was measured and a fire burned in her eyes. She did not wish to be tamed any more than her screeching, snarling, caterwauling dragon did. Zaleeth was really a ferocious and crazy thing in the air. Even her rider admitted that. The second bronze may have been one of the most beautiful she had ever seen, she felt like Zaleeth may lean toward that male based on his looks alone, or maybe she would favor the size of the first bronze? Who knew she had a fickle green.
A blue rose too but there was no sign of his rider.
When another bronze took to the air, she admitted that things might just get really interesting here. He was a handsome dark olive bronze that she had never seen the like of before, really rather quite striking. Again no rider appeared to woo her. Well, some of them had sense she would struggle herself if no one pleased her.
A jovial brown took flight and that made Rolahi smile. She did adore browns. And this one seemed to soak everyone around him in merriment, judging from the shockingly happy burble from her green. So far Rolahi voted for the big brown. It would do Zaleeth good to have a friend in good humor most of the time, maybe it would rub off on the cranky little green.

Perhaps he was out of shape, or the other dragons were simply stronger or better than him, or maybe it was something in him that said this wasn't really what he wanted... Whatever the case, there were others ahead of him, and while it made him work harder, his hearts weren't on fire for the little green. Nor would he be overly disappointed if he failed.
Still this was a flight, a chase, and he would give his all.
Dammnit , N'dir wished there was more warning when dragons were getting ready to Rise. Not that he wasn't against the occasional indulgence of the flight, but more often than not, it was more trouble than it was worth. He would prefer the headaches and physical repercussions of abstaining, then dealing with the awkward afters.
It might be a different thing if he had a dedicated weyrmate, or that Sukai didn't feel the need to join in every flight he was nearby for. But for him, it merely reinforced the fact that in spite of everything, he still didn't belong.
He was getting far enough away from the flight, the urges had become more manageable. He heaved a sigh of relief. If there was more warning, he would make sure they were far away from the weyr when flights were due to occur...

A rest day had finally come, and Amiari had taken advantage of the midday warmth to see to it something she’d put off for the last sevenday after her littlest one had gotten sick--namely, bathing and oiling Cloveth. It had been a fair amount of work, but relished in the personal time together while her brood of kids were spending bonding time together. But with her spring green dragon gimmering in the sun rays, one thing had caught both of their attention--a green. Someone neither knew, vaguely recognized as a new rider to their Weyr.
An idle shame Amiari hadn’t had the time to at least go learn their names. Something she hoped to correct when dragon claws were back on the ground. But Cloveth’s whirling purple facets had caught her gaze, and the woman smiled. “Go on, you look quite the beauty with all that fresh oil.”
Cloveth trilled, bouncing slightly in place. She is stunning. With a hop-step, the green was airborne, chirping brightly to the unknown, if lovely rising green. Oh, loveliest of greens! Might we share a dance in the sky today?
With a gentle smile, Amiari could feel the tingling beginning of a headache. Turns and turns had given her the oomph to fight against flightlust, even if she would nurse a headache a few days. But her slow walk was pausing slightly, eyeing a younger rider whose bronze had taken off. Looking rather unsettled, to say the least. She crossed in quicker strides, her hand gently reaching out to touch N’dir’s elbow. “Are you alright?”

R'bin reclined on his sleeping furs, strumming his guitar idly and utterly unaware of the fact that it was going out of tune, when Huarangith announced suddenly, Zaleeth has risen. I'm going to give chase.
Familiar with his brown's ambitious nature in the matter of flights, R'bin was hardly surprised, but he sent a general feeling of assent and well wishes through their bond and continued playing. As the chase became more heated, his music would probably join it, but for now he could sense that Huarangith, coming late to the flight, was working out how to insinuate himself into the pack of dragons already in the air.
Brown Huarangith hated to hang back, especially after a late start, but he wanted to get a feeling for how the flight was progressing before simply leaping in. His resolve to plan, however, quickly fell by the wayside as his urge to follow the green overtook him and he saw another dragon - a green - gazing up at the sky.
