The cold of Between was never welcome, though it served its purpose. Against Thread, against location, and against.....complications. Not that Haveli assumed there was any, but with back to back gold flights within a sevenday? She refused to let there be any risk for her chance at Impress the doubleclutch, and she certainly didn't relish the idea of carrying some random man's child. No, if her womb were to be occupied it would be for a child with a purpose. A child of rank, or worth, and not some no-name's spawn. But that was something she'd dwell on when alone, not when seeking out someone.
The rider who'd helped her was thanked kindly, though Haveli assumed the greenrider had her own reasons, and the candidate started off in search of another. Today was their free day and while she would have happily spent it doing her rounds, she was in need of familial comfort; plus, honestly, she hadn't seen her sister since the flights. Certainly they met in lessons, but that wasn't the same, they weren't alone and Haveli couldn't talk to Arlie. Not really talk, and see how she was doing.
If there was anyone in this whole Thread-foresaken Weyr that Haveli even remotely cared about, it would be Arlie. There was next to nothing that the teen wouldn't do for the sake of her sister - Faranth knows the things she'd already done - and part of her wondered and hoped that her sister felt the same. Or at least still had the wonderfully ego-lifting level of dependence. Not that...Haveli delighted in it. Out loud.
Stopping the familiar grounds that most candidates haunted during their days off, Haveli looked around for the slip of a figure she called her sister.

It was always satisfying to see that she was still quite able to pick apart her sister's habits, even as time at the Weyr was keeping them apart for various reasons. If Haveli had her way she'd keep Arlie at her side, watching and making sure nothing to come to pass, but such things were ridiculous. An arms length was the best protection here, lest Haveli do something and some fool think to use her sister as a weapon or a threat. The idea of anyone trying to use her as a bargaining chip simply caused Haveli's shoulders to tense, though they dropped as she rounded a corner towards the pens.
Sure as her thoughts had lead her, there was the face she'd been looking for. Against her better judgement the expression she wore softened, her eyes gentle and her lips almost ready to wear a smile reserved only for this one specific person. Haveli's legs carried her quickly enough to the side of her beloved sister, and she opened her mouth in greeting. "Arlie."
It was good to see her out like this, being proactive in her own way. This place was helping Arlie flourish, or so Haveli hoped. Not...to a point of complete independence of course, but enough that she need not cower over the drop of a mark. "I thought I'd find you here. Are you doing okay?"
