A great forest filled with a plentiful amount game to hunt, just take care not to get lost. The only safe means by which to travel is a path that cuts through the center of the forest which makes it easier to travel between the village and castle.

Wulfric didn’t waste to much time getting into the forest his senses were already picking up the trail of different animals which suited him just fine, he ran deep into it avoiding the path entirely and eventually found a nook in witch to stash his gear in. By the time he took his clothes off he was already starting to change and wasted no time in changing, his size changing as he turned his White fur sticking out greatly as his transformation completed, he howled long and loud as he stood there and before long started sniffing the air before he darted off away from his gear to hunt.
His form rushed swiftly through the trees and shrubbery his white fur but a blur as he moved, his intent to find something to eat and before long was reward with a scent in which to follow. He dropped down to all fours momentary to get an idea as to where his prey was before he darted off even further into the forest. As he followed his senses were keenly aware of life around him though for the moment he had only one trail in which to follow and eventually led him to a small clearing with a river running through it. Once again, he dropped down to all fours and proceeded carefully and quietly the scent of his prey was much stronger here which only further proved he’d reach the end of his hunt. Before long he heard something close to the river bank and found he had tracked down what appeared to be a large bear which suited him just fine meant he wouldn’t have to hunt multiple prey to sate his need for a meal.

The bear had yet to notice his presence which worked in his favor as he slowly moved closer if he could he would put the beast down fast, if he couldn’t well he would simply tear him apart and leave nothing but a torn carcass picked clean. As he neared striking distance it became obvious his presence hadn’t gone unnoticed as the bear stood up and started sniffing the air, not giving it a chance to pinpoint him and go on the defensive Wulfric leapt forward, a growl escaping as he opened his mouth with intent to get at it’s throat, not fast enough has the bear spun around and batted him down Wulfric stood tall offering a roar a challenge to which the bear returned though not as strongly as he had after which Wulfric rushed forward claws and teeth bared as approached, the bear rushing forward as well to which they both met in the middle, claws and teeth going at eat other like wild animals, and while the bear was quite formidable it was clear that Wulfric had the strength advantage and soon enough started to overpower the bear with mere brute strength cutting and biting at whatever he could get his claws and teeth at. After going at the bear for quite a while to which was bloodied and clearly showing signs of faltering Wulfric pushed hard the bear raising up on it’s hind legs to strike out with it’s claws only to find that Wulfric had grabbed them and rushed forward to get at it’s throat. With teeth plunging deep into the bears throat he brought the bear down and stood above its lifeless body victorious Wulfric’s fur was covered in blood both his and the bears though mostly the bear and howled in victory before he started ripping the carcass apart as well as started eating without delay.

Wolfe Garm

Blade had, of course, followed him. But she was much more stealthy in going through the forest. She was so stealthy and quiet partly because she knew the forest better than her rooms at the castle.

She followed him to his kill and waited out of scent range until he'd eaten most of the bear. Only then did she approach him and she approached from where he could easily see her. She was cautious but unafraid since she didn't know him. These days, the only people able to deal with her were her brother and Sebastet. She was getting to loosen up with Lio, but it was taking time. Especially since Anube's death.

At her left shoulder, her faded Mating Mark was easily seen in all of her forms. The faded appearance showed that her Mate had died, though the fact that she was still alive spoke volumes to her mental state to anyone who knew what to look for.

She stopped a good distance from him and waited there for a moment to allow him to look her over. Only then did she speak, "From now on, take down the boars or deer. They need to be culled. The bears need a little more time to increase their numbers," she told him simply, her voice soft but carrying a musical quality to it that made it very pleasant to hear.

Once she'd said her piece, she turned and headed back towards the trees but in the direction of the castle.

Wulfric stood there for a moment blood covering most of his fur, he watched her for a moment before he stepped over to the river and cleaned up his fur a bit. Once he had finished he stepped over to where she stood and picked up her scent easily enough which allowed him to catch up to her. He kept her in sight but at the same time he kept his distance, he was unsure about her to say the least, but what did interest him was the fact that she showed the signs of having lost a mate and while she was clearly well-off experience told him that there was more going on than perhaps most realized or her for that matter, the mark was fading but still fairly easy to see which indicated that she’d lost her mate not so long ago.

As they walked he eventually broke away confident that he’d be able to find her again and darted off towards his gear. Once there he changed without hesitation and got dressed, he made sure his gear was checked before he took off, the scent of that woman wasn’t hard to follow and caught up to her without too much trouble.

For a while he simply followed, admittedly he was more curious and simply watched her, Eventually though he finally spoke up “apologies for the bear, had I known sooner I might have been able to steer clear of that scent” admittedly Wulfric was fumbling to have a conversation, he was used to talking to people when he needed to but he seldom found anyone who would actually walk up to him to explain something to him and not try to attack him as most humans were known for doing which was why he tended to stay away from most people if he could help it but unfortunately there came times when he needed supplies, information, a contract, or in the rarest of cases a bed to sleep in. He was a bit of a loner which worked out for him since he spent most of his time on the road working on mercenary contracts.

When his senses returned to him fully he picked up his pace so that he was closer “I’m Wuflric, I don’t suppose you could tell me where I might find the graveyard here, I’m tracking down someone who frequented that location” with his slight delay, he focused back on the job at hand though admittedly he was struggling slightly as he was constantly admiring her features, though the fading mark was still a sight to see since he knew of the repercussion that came from losing a mate who was bound to you, to say that you could feel everything was an understatement, though the worst of it all was that from what he had heard few ever survive the ordeal if the death wasn’t peaceful, usually the mental scarring of suddenly losing the bond with your mate tend to break most though the worst and unfortunately most common result usually was a lethal feedback, usually the feeling of death was translated through the mental bond that in most cases both died as a result of the sudden shock to the system.

To see someone survive such an ordeal is a testament to their strength, as far as he could tell she wasn’t suffering to much though the fact that the mark was more like a scar on her skin suggested that while it was slowly fading the death wasn’t something worth experiencing through a mental bond, which meant that while she did appear perfectly fine he had to wonder just what she might be going through.

Wolfe Garm

Blade knew he was tracking her and simply let him do so. Usually, when she didn't want to be tracked or found at all, she wasn't. But this one was new to the island and fairly rare among his kind of shifter, so she was cutting him a little slack.

When he finally moved to speak with her, she paused close to the edge of the forest nearest the castle and turned to look at him directly. Unlike most wolves, she met his eyes without fear or hesitation. Maybe more like a cat. Or a mostly dominant female wolf.

At his question, she simply gestured to the other side of the castle from where they were at, "It's on the other side of the castle from here," she told him simply, letting her eyes move over him briefly. Her eyes were a rich brown with flecks of green and gold in them, the green around the outer edges and the gold around the iris. Her eyes were, at first glance, plain. But once one really looked at them they were just as beautiful as the rest of her.

She looked him over again then gave a soft sigh as she looked towards the castle briefly, then back at him, "You can stay at the castle while you're here. Just keep the wildlife in mind. There's even a protected hall for the shifters. My brother and I live there. It's easy for us to find because we follow scent better than other races. If your bounty isn't at the graveyard now, she probably will be later. Patience makes for a better hunt anyway," she offered, knowing that he could probably use a safe place to sleep for a few days.

Clothing was easily supplied as well, the villagers that worked as servants at the castle were beyond efficient these days.

She looked into his eyes again and gave a shrug of one shoulder, "You can call me Blade. My brother is Wind. We were raised here, so we know the place pretty well," she added, though she wasn't too sure why.

There were only so many that had been born and raised here, though the ones up at the castle usually wound up with Sebastet as their godmother. Blade and wind had been born here, as had Dancer who was currently in the demon realm healing from...

She stopped thinking about that one with a turn of her head in the direction of the castle again, "Sometimes I hunt game for the castle supplies. Maybe I'll see you around then," she said politely then gave a nod of her head and headed in the direction of the castle again. She didn't want to think about that day. Dancer was still healing, Wind was still limping, and the reprisals for it had been very bad...

As it was, her race's instincts for survival had her cursing her life right now. So she silently reminded herself that alone was best for her and decided to just be polite to the new guy and leave it at that.

Wulfric stood there just simply watching her, clearly something was eating at her whether or not intentional or not he could see it, clearly the loss weighed heavily on her heart, it showed that perhaps being left alone after losing your mate wasn’t such a good thing granted the opportunity to start over was there but having had a wife and child in his years before he became a wolf he could to a degree understand where she might be coming from if that was the case, it was never easy to walk alone after having spent most of your life with someone, and it was much harsher for wolves like himself, when they are bonded companionship takes on a whole new meaning. Fate was a fickle beast and while his tended be the worst of them all to survive after a bonding well there was no worse fate than that, if anything he had it easy his tended to throw him problems that usually were unwanted, but to be a survivor of a bonding that is something he admittedly had not experienced, though rightfully so since he’d spent his days constantly on the hunt, Wulfric bowed his head slightly as he came to the realization that he’d spent his every waking moment seeking death, a death his scarred body would attest had always escaped his grasp.

Wulfric started walking forward Blade was well ahead of him, his thoughts had long since gone from work to thoughts of his past, even to this day he could still remember the life he had before he had become a Wolf, it was peaceful back then he had everything he could have ever wanted, the day he lost his family and his wellbeing was perhaps the first day that fate went sour on him. Eventually he would collect his thoughts and focus back on the task at hand, for now he had a job to do and would decide on a course of action after he had seen the graveyard.

Blade paused again at the treeline and let him catch up to her, "As I said, the graveyard is on the other side of the castle from here. If your eyes are sharp, you can just catch the edge of the fencing. There's a chapel there as well," she pointed it out to him politely.

Then she caught herself looking at him again and gave a shrug of one shoulder, "If you want a room, just follow my scent in the castle. That'll lead you to the Were's Hallway and you can find a suite there," she offered softly.

She knew it wouldn't take long before the servants had clothing for him set up and maybe even a tray from the kitchen. Thankfully the suites were already furnished.

Then, for some strange reason, as she stood there looking at him, she suddenly shifted. Her shift wasn't like other Were's, though. She didn't lose her clothes and it wasn't a drawn out or painful process. One second she was standing there in human form and the next she was in animal form.

She sifted to a black wolf with dark grey at the tips of her fur. It was an unusual and rare wolf, a species even older than his line. They were often called Ghost Wolves because they seemed to disappear if they stood in a shadow and appear as if from nowhere when they were hunting. As she raised her eyes to meet his, they were amber-gold with green and brown flecks. Startling to see in a wolf's face.

She let him have that one brief look at her, then she was running to the castle. But the most startling thing about her wolf form was that she was easily a bit bigger than a Dire Wolf, the largest known of the wolves. And easily a wolf in size that could take his wolf on and possibly win...

It might take him a little while to realize something about her wolf form, though: These days, they only existed within the Demonicus race...

Wulfric was surprised by the sudden change in blade, her scent while it had been usual had crossed his mind that she might not have actually been like him, considering everything that he’d seen since arriving at the islands he was amazed by everything that was different, though being around humanity for so long anything not what humans consider normal is going to be new to him, though admittedly a very tiny amount of humans actually knew what he was and that was mostly due to the fact that he dealt with them so often it was only a matter of time before they figured it out, and thankfully if anything they were the few that he could trust not to expose him to the entire world.

Though if anything Wulfric was even more curious about her, but that was something he would have to indulge when he wasn’t working, since he was on the job he sighed slightly when he could no longer see her and started making his way towards the graveyard to see what it was like before he considered anything else.

Za'Vira Lucio

Rarian

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The forest unusually quiet not so much as a bird could be heard, as the day went gunfire could be heard off in the distance. Za’Vira ran with all haste as she tried to evade her pursuers a couple of hunters who thought she would be an easy kill, well they’ve never faced an Etsuma before and she would make them remember it before the day was out provided she allowed any of them to survive this day she was already in a foul mood as it was and then being attacked by hunters only added to it. She rushed through the trees with all nimble swiftness the armor she wore while sturdy and reliable didn’t hinder her ability to move and the leather strappings kept it quiet which only made sneaking easier to do. She moved jumping suddenly when she heard gunfire and barely getting out of the way, she planted her left foot on a tree and pushed off from it spinning around she took aim with her bow and let lose with an arrow hitting it’s mark cleaning but not immediately fatal, she landed gracefully on her feet as she continued running the pursuers still hot on her trail it was clear she was going to have to set an ambush if she was ever going to be clear of these persistent hunter. Sighing as she ran, Za’Vira Leapt into the air and took hold of a nearby tree and with her claws and started climbing it taking cover in the canopy of the tree and staying quiet. She didn’t have to wait when she saw four hunters rush past her position a fifth who was lagging behind a broken shaft protruding from his shoulder as he struggled to keep up, clearly, he was bleeding out badly as Za’Vira noted that he was breathing heavily and his movements were sporadic. Shaking her head, she drew her sword and jumped down bringing the blade down plunging it through his shoulder and deep inside him her ears twitching slightly as she watched the life fade from the man’s eyes and simply lowered him down onto the ground. As fast as his compatriot wouldn’t be aware that he had fallen which gave her the time she needed to take them out one at a time and went into a run to catch up with the group as she ran she caught up with the rear hunter and sheathed her blade and drew her bow and notch an arrow, drawing the arrow back she brought it to full distance and released it, the arrow flew fast and hit the hunter in the rear in his back dropping him instantly, she notched another arrow and once again released it hitting a second hunter, it was only at this point that they started noticing that they were being attacked and stopped in their tracks, Za’vira dropped her bow and drew her sword, with a yell she rushed forward and gracefully dodged a strike from a rifle butt as she fluidly moved her sword striking the man across his chest and moved on before he fell, the last man who was clearly smart affixed a bayonet to his rifle and lunged at her, her sword just barely parrying it aside and rushed past him as the man brought his rifle around with the intent to shoot her she jumped up just as his rifle came completely around and landed behind him and started to swing though before her blade could connect the hunter bashed her in the stomach with the butt of the rifle crossing her to fall back her weapon slid away from her the hunter attempted plunge his bayonet into her chest but she rolled out of the way and got on her feet, and quickly dodged but to her dismay did little good when the hunter fired his rifle grazing her in the side causing her to fall “Come here woman!” yelled the hunter as he grabbed one of her legs and started dragging her she struggled to get free but he had a tight grip on her ankle and flailed about trying to hit him, he drew a knife with a rather long blade on it and turned her over before jumping on top of her pinning her down and trying to plunge his blade into her heart, Za’Vira caught his wrists keeping the blade from braking skin but it was so long that it wouldn’t be long before she was run through by this hunter. She put all of her strength into resisting and for a time that was all she could do but it was clear he had the advantage and he was slowly putting his weight into pushing the blade down into her heart which strained Za’Vira but she continued to struggle to get free as well as trying to keep the blade from plunging into her chest and heart, it was clear the weapon was made of pure silver which would be fatal to her and extremely painful she would feel every inch of that blade burning her insides and would die a painful death if she didn’t get free quickly. Ordinarily Za’Vira wouldn’t have worried to much nor been hit so hard when her armor was one but unfortunately she had been settling down to rest and had taken her armor off next to a creek to clean up from many days of travelling when the hunters had ambushed her, how they knew she was there was hard to say but it was clear they knew what they were doing and were not keen on taking prisoners.

Blood, the tearing flesh, the strangled angry growl of the adult male that swiftly started to shake and jerk under his wiry frame.. Remi blinked hard as he realized he'd flung himself into the fray that had broken out below his resting place. He hadn't thought about getting involved, still startled at the sudden violence so soon from waking from his nap in the sun-dappled canopy.. Remi honestly couldn't even remember slinking from his shelter in the branches above the scene, concern and anger bristling his fur on end even as his heart pounded in his chest so hard he was amazed the massive Hunter didn't hear him coming. It wasn't fear, it never occurred to him the danger he was putting himself into, but the adrenaline of stopping the fight was riding him hard. By the time his claws sank into that ugly, naked face the boy was pretty much reacting on frantic impulse to save whomever had found themselves in the center of the foul man's attention.

He hadn't even gotten a good look at who the man was attacking before he draped himself over the offender's back and planted his pawed feet on the ground to either side of the struggling pair. It was a fluid motion that led him to lean back, feeling the facial skin of the man shredding under his grip as he tried to haul the figure off of his prey stubbornly. A sudden jerk from the Hunter and the man slammed his elbow into Remi's face as he briefly lifted himself off of the female, the coppery taste of blood warning the boy that his lip had been split from the blow as he lost his grip on the man and staggered back in shock.

The noise of the shots earlier had been deafening, the stink of gunpowder on the wind fouling any scent of prey and the echoing blasts sending animals and merchants alike scattering from the general area as though all understood the danger posed by the scuffle.. And he knew help wasn't likely on the way. Yet even as his ears continued to ring from the earlier assault Remi's befuddled mind was locked on to the ragged breaths coming from under the violent oaf. Stressed, hurt maybe? He couldn't understand why they were fighting but.. It was wrong to just do nothing. Folding his ears back in clear agitation the boy sank down to his haunches, his tail flicking as his toes dug into the earth and he launched himself at the larger male again in a renewed attack. His claws sank through the fabric of the man's shirt and into his back as the young Etsuma latched his jaws onto his shoulder and sank his fangs deep; Remi unable to evade the resulting slaps and yanks as the Hunter finally abandoned his attack on the woman and stood to grab at the little beast on his back. It.. didn't last long. A swift grab and the man had a hold on the nape of his neck, pulling hard to bring the cub down over his shoulder. No match for an adult's strength in this position he couldn't keep his perch, feeling the skin and fabric alike tearing from the male's back as he was pried off and viciously slammed to the ground.. a booted foot landing heavily on his chest as Remi struggled to get the air back into his lungs.

When the hunter had come off of her and turned his attention to her savior she rolled onto her feet and looked at the one on the ground and suddenly realized she had been saved by a child. Not accepting this she rushed over to where her sword lay and grabbed it, spinning around she gracefully darted forward her blade coming to life as she slashed against his back, spinning around she swung up cutting along his spine causing him to fall backward her face was full of anger as she spun her sword around and claimed his head just before he hit the ground. Za’Vira’s Ears twitched slightly for a moment before she quickly rushed over to the child who’d saved her and realized he was one of her people. Taking a knee, she looked around suddenly panicked that a child was here sheathed her sword and scooped him up and took off in the direction of her gear pausing to grab her bow before she darted back towards the creek she had stopped at to rest.

For a moment she didn’t say anything there wasn’t much to say at the moment, after all, she was just relieved that the child hadn’t been seriously hurt, eventually she slowed her pace and just looked behind her making certain that no one else was around before taking a knee and gently putting the child on his feet and sighing “thank you child that was brave of you to risk your life like that, foolish but brave” her motherly instincts were suddenly in full swing as she checked him to see if he was alright, seeing nothing but blood from an open cut he’d taken from that hunter, so she stepped over to her pack which was thankfully still there next to her armor and grabbed a cloth and stepped back over to him and knelt down “tell me child what are you doing so far from home, shouldn’t you be at the village where you are safe?” she inquired as she cleaned the blood off before she healed the cut and simply looked at him with some concern and care in her eyes, what was a young child doing so far from the village, it was the only place that the Etsuma had settled and to her knowledge there was no other settlement which had a population of kinsman, it was possible that one had happened while she was gone but hard to say for sure, one thing was clear this young one was at the center of her attention.

The flash of sunlight on a blade.. It almost looked like a blurry dance as the female righted herself and struck back at the Hunter in a elegant sway of blood and rage. Strange that something so morbid looked so beautiful but, still struggling to keep his focus, Remi had no other way to express the sight unfolding to his foggy gaze. It was barely a few heartbeats and the waltz was over, the feeling of floating up in her grasp was swiftly replaced by the jostle of her movements as the foliage passed overhead and the soft thumps of her footsteps betrayed the distance growing between the massacre of the Hunters and wherever this stranger was heading. The leaves above thickened and he finally risked a squinting glance up at the figure carrying him, the slanted pupils of his emerald gaze rounding with shock as something not human met his clearing sight. He didn't really have time to struggle at this realization, she'd set him on his padded and feet and darted about with purpose.. And honestly the boy couldn't stop himself from watching the feline-like female as she both scolded and pampered him.

Noticing his mouth was ajar in surprise he blinked rapidly and closed it as the pain eased in his lip, stubbornness shoring up his resolve as he wrinkled his nose at the female and placed his hands on his hips.. Perfectly mimicking the posture his late Mentor would take before giving a lecture of his own to the often-receiving Remi. " I haven't been to a village here yet but it is safer in the trees at night, anyone could tell you that, Lady. Besides I'm not the one picking fights, that guy was huge and he smelled horrible.." Distracted at the memory of that foul scent his left ear dropped, the right one quirking forward as if absently listening for sounds as the youth pondered his own words.. and the very furry face staring at him with a unnerving amount of concern. " You look weird." It was out before he could help it, his tail fluffing in embarrassment at what Nan would have surely pointed out as his 'bad manners', but he wouldn't be deterred as he finished the thought in a mumble. " .. You look kind of like me. You should have been able to smell him before he hurt you." And the Hunter had hurt her.. The deep green of his stare flicked from that unnervingly familiar face down to the injury on her side his expression clouded with unease. Adults always bled so much..

Still a bit off kilter at her mothering he took a half-step back, weighing the option of escape from the attention.. Before guilt won over his pride and he dropped his head with a sigh. He wouldn't be a very good man if he left a woman alone in the forest, especially a hurt one.. Reaching up he grasped his left upper arm, gently massaging his own fur with claws coated in drying blood as Remi shifted his weight on his feet and let his tail sway in a passive manner. What would Thane do... Offer to find her food? Given what she did to the Hunter he didn't think the Lady needed that kind of help.. True to his nature his attention shifted rapidly at the memory of her wielding a sword and his mood picked up, his ears locking forward as his excitement got the better of his mouth. " Wait, did you smell him and attack on purpose? I can't catch anything that much bigger than me hunting.. You still shouldn't eat things that talk, birds taste way better and Nan said anything that can argue back at you is off limits."

Rarian
sorry took me so long to post.

Za’Vira couldn’t help but look at him with even more concern, was he not from her village? She wouldn’t dwell on that when he started lecturing her about eating something that big and couldn’t help but shake her head with a slight chuckle “goodness no child, simply returning the favor for disrupting my peace and quiet and attacking me” Za’Vira stood up and sighed slightly as she stepped over to the pack and put away the cloth before shaking her head in resignation of the fact that she wouldn’t get cleaned up with a child around and simply went about putting the armor back on and feeling quite satisfied by the weight and simply glanced back over to the child while she finished checking her armor “I am Za’Vira Lucio, from Ruisto Village, are you not from this same village?” She looked at the boy with concern in her eyes and stood there looking at his features more closely, and finding it hard to believe that he wasn’t from her village, it was possible that they’d expanded since she had been there last but found that difficult to believe since her people didn’t travel outside their own borders all that often, being quite content to simply stay where they knew they would be safe, though she seemed to be an exception to that since she was more curious about the outside world well beyond the borders of Ruisto, so it was a natural course of action for her to venture out and see the world with her own eyes.

Her answer was met with visible relief as the female explained her part in the scuffle earlier though, by the slight crinkle of his nose, it was clear he felt a degree of disappointment with it as well. A part of him wondered how hard it would be to hunt the furless ones for pranks and the like but given how easy it was to sneak around his late Nan as she napped most afternoons he honestly discarded the mischievous idea rather quickly. There were more interesting things afoot anyway.

Offering some privacy he turned his back as she started to don her armor, his ears folded back lazily as he listened to her own inquiries and introduction. Remi's head tilted up and to the side, reassuring himself that she was dressed before half turning back towards the adult. Lifting his arms over his head he folded them at his nape, wincing a little as it stretched his still-sore torso. It didn't halt the natural grin that turned up his lips and bared just a little of his fangs to view as he returned the good manners of his hostess. " I'm Diremi Lucca from Stonetree Village. No one there looked like you Ms. Lucio. " He didn't even consider himself in that statement, so used to humans he naturally thought of himself as 'one of them'.

Za’Vira couldn’t help but wonder what had happened, it was very strange that he had been at a village that didn’t have any kinsman there, then it occurred to her that he may have been at a human village which was never a good thing, it was clear he hadn’t been harmed but it wasn’t the physical issues she was getting increasingly worried about “where are your parents or kinsmen?” the fact that there is a child in front of her from her own kin suggests that maybe they did decide to venture out into the unknown and try to interact with the outside world, perhaps she was the push they needed to finally drop old traditions and finally be open minded.

Admittedly she hadn’t fully grasped the thought that humans had taken in one of her kinsmen and raised him as their own, especially since the only greeting she ever got from them was to attack her for what she was. Looking at him and seeing him wince she couldn’t help but walk over to him and tend to his care. Putting her hand on his chest she used a little bit of magic to tend to any injuries he had to his chest and spoke “this will help, you should be more careful Diremi, there are plenty out here who would hurt us simply because of what we are” once she had finished she sat down on the ground in front of him and just watched him, her ears twitching slightly and very much on guard for any signs of further trouble, the hunters may have gotten the jump on her before but with a child with her she wasn’t about to let anyone get close without her being aware of it.

Though something he had said before did concern her slightly, even if they had somehow moved without making a noise, she would have been able to pick their scent up without much trouble and the fact that they had so easily masked their presence made her wonder just what was going on. She’d encountered quite a few groups of hunters since she had gone out on her own and every last one of them wanted her dead for simply being an Etsuma or as they called her so rudely an abomination. Her thoughts soon came back to the fact that Diremi had been at a village and none were kinsmen, how that was possible she couldn’t quite understand but perhaps there was more to this than she realized.
