Karpos felt like she was off to a rocky start so far in the pride. Mostly because her first interaction with another pride member had been her and him in a near death experience. Luckily both lions had gotten out of the danger just fine and they had even become friendly. But Karpos wasn't really feeling like she was fully getting her self off to a great start. Today was her day to hunt and she had a partner that was going to help her get the hang of the hunting ground. The two had met briefly in the dens and the other lioness seemed eager to show her around.
Karpos waited just out side the den area for this lioness looking quite nervous. What if she messed up again? Would this lioness tell everyone what an unbelievable failure she was? What if she got the two of them in a dangerous situation? Karpos continued to work her self in to a worry and it showed clearly on her features.
Yakujo had pretty much set down roots in the pridelands. She had a litter of happy and healthy cubs and was entirely happy with her place among the pride. She kept her head down for the most part and only minded her own business. Karpos had caught her eye. She was new to the pride and Yakujo could tell she was uneasy. The lioness understood. It was hard to fit in to a new pride and make your peace with your self. Some times Yakujo wondered where her original family might be but besides that the lioness paid no mind.
"Good morning," She gave a smile to Karpos as she approached. It was considered polite to greet with a smile so that was what the purple lioness did.
Karpos's ears lifted hearing the other females voice. She almost jumped backwards but managed to not do such a thing.
"Oh good morning," She gave a smaller smile. Pleasantries were not easy to exchange. Karpos honestly really didn't want to. She wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible.
Yakujo could see this female was quite uneasy. Small talk might not be the best way to go so Yakujo decided she'd skip it.
"Well come on. We need to get a move on before the herds move else where. Follow me and we'll get there just in time," She gave the purple lioness a smile before turning her back on her and starting off. It was pretty self explanatory for her to be followed by the other.
Karpos got the message and followed after the darker female. The two walked for some time in silence which Karpos was just fine with. It wasn't that she didn't want to be friends with Yakujo but she wasn't in a talkative mood.
Karpos was not going to open up on her own which was clear to Yakujo. The darker lioness didn't actually mind this but it was curious.
It wasn't long until the two were at the place where the herd was grazing. Yakujo got low in the grassand Karpos followed her example. Together the two lionesses snaked through the grass being careful not to make too much noise as they did so. Yakujo could still see the worry in the purple lionesses eyes but paid no mind. Now the two were on the hunt and it was a matter for the pride and not of personal matters. Maybe after the two bloodied their claws together the purple lioness would open up. That was if she wanted to.
Karpos was thankful that Yakujo wasn't digging for her to talk. The silence was a welcome thing as was the hunt. Karpos stayed behind the darker lioness and watched her movements for any given ques for the two to set out and strike.
