Mwezi'Nuru could not find a reason to be anything but happy. She had the best mate in the world, they had the best cubs in the world, AND they lived in the best pride in the world. Okay so she did miss being in a pride surrounded by music other dancers from time to time, but there was so much to love about this place. She adored the home she had made with her mate, and the family she had now. She made time to fuss over her grown cubs to embarrass them whenever possible too. That was one of the perks of being a mother.
Mwezi had to take a moment to smile of the irony of her situation. She had set out from home trying to track down a male that stole her heart and swept her off her paws and in the process of searching, she had found a male that did that again and so much more. Dah didn't promise pretty things and then disappear. No, his charm was in being a sweet and wonderful companion and she was certain that had she found her first choice, she would not have been nearly as happy as she was with Dah. He was the best choice.
Mwezi's morning had started early as it did every morning. She went out, she hunted with others, and she came back in. But instead of going to find Dah, she had gone to take some time away from the main pride for dancing. She knew he would find her eventually, but also that he like their children would understand. She enjoyed her dancing, but it was easier to do away from the crowded pride center. As her feet moved, Mwezi was smiling to herself over her good fortune in life.

Often times he thought that his visiting Mwezi would be a nice surprise for the female... but every single time somehow she knew just when he'd be arriving. He thought it charming, really. One day he'd figure out how to truly surprise her, if he could. As he walked the familiar pathways of the pridelands it didn't take him very long to arrive at one of her favorite dancing spots, and his gait slowed so he could watch without bothering her from a distance. She was stunning, and he very lucky.
He took a deep breath and sighed in contentment, his gaze floating away from her for a few minutes to take stock of the area surrounding them. Completely and utterly alone, which you learned was an amazing gift once you ever had cubs. He grinned to himself and moved forward, large body low to the ground. He took his time 'stalking' his mate, stifling his chuckles the best he could.
Closer, closer! When he judged himself close enough he sprung into a sprint, roaring playfully as he sprung into the air, aiming to pin her!

Mwezi was so very limber and flexible from her dancing and she always could sense when Dah was near. And though he did not see her do it, she made sure to turn in her dancing in such a way as to glance around her, and spotted the male easily as he tried to stalk her. She kept dancing, not letting on that she had seen him, but when he was ready to spring, she very smoothly flatted herself and let him overshoot her. Oh yes, she was very flexible indeed, and quite sly at times.
Mwezi straitened as her mate landed, and did not take up her dancing again. She had to make sure Dah was not harmed by her little stunt, and she also loved teasing him too much to miss an opportunity like this. The lioness was by his side in an instant, looking him over for any sign of an injury. "My poor dear, Dah, hunter of great beasts... alluded by one pesky female." She chuckles and gives him a nuzzle when she's sure he's okay.

He should have known better, really. In fact, he did know better... but he was still convinced that somehow... one day... he'd get to sneak up on her without her being any the wiser! Once in his life time, he was sure of it... which meant there was no reason he should ever pass up an opportunity to see if that moment was the moment. It didn't matter, having Mwezi suddenly flatten herself to the ground was enough to have his heart rate skyrocketing in an instant! The roar caught in his throat as he suddenly flew over his mate, and it almost felt like slow motion as he watched her body pass under his, unharmed and untackled!
His paws would have smacked the ground more gracefully had he been more prepared... but he wasn't and so he stumbled forward hard! His whole body propelled forward and he summersaulted twice before landing on his back with a loud oof, the air escaping him. Dazed, it took him a moment to realize his mate was now standing above him. His ears rung as she spoke, though he caught the gist of it and even started to laugh when she was finished speaking. He brought his paws up to capture her in a hug, pulling her down to nuzzle his face into hers. "Yes but you didn't allude me when it mattered." He joked, grinning brightly. That was why they had a family together, and that was all that really mattered to him. "Your dancing was very beautiful as usual, love."

Dah chuckled softly as his mate snuggled down with him, nuzzling into her with more affection. The sun was starting to sink down low and the world was filled with beautiful hues of oranges and gold, it felt delightful. His eyes half shut and he let her groom him, feeling content. "Ah, but you're the best dancer for me." He replied softly, seriously. He nipped one of her ears before grinning at her.
He found himself laughing brightly as she suddenly began speaking about cubs, always jumping to the point with little to no lead in. He didn't mind, he liked that she was straight to the point. It helped him keep from guessing what she wanted all of the time, because she simply told him. "Quiet and spacious!" He joked, though he nuzzled into her cheek as he listened.
It was true, all of their littles were no longer so and they were all starting to find their way in the world, hopefully finding mates of their own and perhaps starting families of their own. "Momma misses being a momma, hmm? Though it would be nice to have some cute little cubs running around..." He wrapped his paws around her again, pulling her even closer against his body. "Plus I guess allll of that space is a little too spacious." He took his turn grooming her face and laughed again. "And it is quite fun making cubs." He joked brightly.

After he was finished grooming he let his entire body relax, content to just breath and to feel his mate breathing against him. "I do." He admitted, thinking that it was actually incredible to be a part of that process, raising cubs. He'd never had a father himself, so it was just... different.
He rested his head against hers, breathing deeply. "Of course I would want more cubs with you, Mwezi. You're my world, and it was magnificent to expand our world together last time... so it should be even more amazing to expand it again this time, right?" He smiled at her, nuzzling into her. "Maybe we should head back to the den early tonight." He joked, grinning.
