As a cub Mal'Sangre felt distant from his parents and siblings. He preferred to wander alone than spend time with them. The cub learned the land around them so that he could find the most secluded, quiet places and stay out of sight for hours on end.
When Mal'Sangre was only a juvenile, he left his family's presence for good. Living mainly on small game, he started learning to hunt larger prey by observing other predators on hunts. He also learned how tough and unfair life could be for a young, lonely lion. His mind seemed to dwell in shadows and sadness. Mal'Sangre became hateful and cruel to any creatures that were weaker than him as an outlet for his feelings.
Mal'Sangre has since began to accept his solitary existence, though he is still dark and cold towards others. He no longer causes pain, but he might stand and watch someone suffer for a moment of amusement. Mal'Sangre is rather indifferent to the feelings of others. Someone must be very persistent to make Mal'Sangre feel anything for them, whether it is fondness or hatred. A friendly creature may be able to draw out a spark of kindness from Mal'Sangre, but it does not come naturally to him. Mal'Sangre believes that his blood is tainted, and in his mind, his bad blood explains why he feels distant from other lions.
Growing up in the Mizuka'Nyevu pride had naturally taught Tlotlego'Setu to be secretive and wary of strangers. But, he is also an inquisitive lion who sometimes struggles with his belief that strangers should be avoided. Setu wants to know what life is like for others, despite his cautious and untrusting nature. He tends to watch others in secret, as if he is studying them. If that is not enough to satisfy his curiosity, he may try reaching out to others so that he may get to know them on a personal level, without revealing too much about himself. Being in the roguelands before he found the Pridelands has made him stronger and more confident, but he hasn't quiet shaken his old habits.
In a group, Tlotlego'Setu usually stays on the edge of the activity, but he may offer his insight if he feels that he can contribute to the things at hand. Along with learning new things, Setu likes to teach. He feels a sense of accomplishment when he shares his knowledge with others.
Linzie seems to be a cub stuck in an adult's body. She is a whimsical lion that sees every day as different and new, even if the times are hard. It isn't unusual to see Linzie chasing butterflies, watching birds, or stopping to sniff the flowers just because she can. As a loner, she is used to spending time by herself and often uses her imagination to keep her mind occupied on dull days. Nonetheless, she enjoys meeting new lions. At first Linzie may be a little shy around a stranger, so it may take her some time to feel comfortable enough to talk freely. Once she has overcome her reservation, her playful side will shine.
Linzie is also sensitive to emotions, which can drive her to act when she otherwise may not. She feels empathy for others easily and will try to help a companion in need, but she can have her feelings hurt easily as well. If she is upset, it often comes out as anger and Linzie will try to hurt the offender back with surprisingly cruel words.
Mmoto'bolo, who is known as Moth to many of his companions, thinks he is a gift to lionkind. He is an extremely vain lion who tends to obsess over himself whenever he isn't busy chasing after females or some other source of fun. He is proud of his brightly coloured markings, so he often feels envious of other lions with comparably bright markings of their own. Moth, in order to make himself feel better, will try to outdo them in another way. He is not the hard-working type, but he has a competitive streak that will sometimes encourage him to act. However, if he cannot win his imaginary competitions, Moth will just try to befriend the object of his jealousy so he may cling to them for comfort and approval. Everything Moth does is solely for his own benefit, and he loves to brag about his smallest accomplishments. It takes a tough, no-nonsense authority figure's discipline to make Moth take anything seriously, unless they can appeal to his competitive nature.
During his stay in Maestros Del Mar, Moth developed a strong taste for fermented fruit. He spends a lot of his time looking for them, and he can often be seen stumbling drunkenly across the savannah.

Cheerful Alfajiri likes to take life one step at a time. She is the type who lives in every moment without thinking about the past or the future. She isn’t afraid to take chances, either. If putting herself at risk can end with some kind of personal reward, she will not hesitate to do it, even if it doesn’t seem worth it to others. Alfa is a bit of a daredevil, loving the feel of adrenaline coursing through her body. She has yet to learn that certain risks aren’t worth taking.
Sometimes Alfajiri’s careless cheer can make her seem naive, but she has a spark of intelligence behind her playful eyes. Even though her mouth can run off with her completely, the words she says occasionally contain a surprising amount of insight. It is in her nature to talk constantly, but her mother has taught her to be more aware of what she says, and to know when it is best to keep quiet.

Daisha is usually a cheerful, curious lion with a strong desire to learn and explore. While she is more on the introverted side, she doesn't mind the occasional company of close friends. Daisha doesn't typically seek out social interaction but she doesn't shun it when it comes along. Sometimes she may be more cautious around non-lion creatures because she is afraid of misjudging them. However, once someone behaves favourably towards her, she will slowly begin to warm up to them. Daisha values intelligence and a good nature over physical form or species. She isn't particularly fond of those who put a lot of thought into their appearance or that seem to lack common sense.
Generally, Daisha is not a fearful lioness, but the events that led her from the swamps to the mountains with the Jini-msemi have given her a major fear: the fear of fire. She knows that there is little chance that she will experience another large fire in her life, but Daisha often wakes up from nightmares related to both of her fears. This has led to Daisha becoming a bit of an insomniac who stays awake to study herself and her surroundings while others would be sleeping.

Tenebris is a spoiled, childish brat of a lion who values strength and power over anything else. Being raised as a prince by a father who quelled everything that was once good in him has turned him into a cruel, mindless beast. Tenebris has a false sense of entitlement and demands that every one of his darkest desires are met. He has no respect for females except for what their bodies may offer him, and he has no real love for his family. He doesn't desire their respect or admiration, either. All Tenebris wants is for others to do what they are told, and to give him whatever he wants.
Despite his love of power, he has no desire to seek it for his own, since that requires more energy than he wishes to exert. Instead, he will try to remain close to those who have power, and he will do anything that they ask of him, almost as if he was a mercenary for hire. Tenebris will only obey the males that have the most strength, like his father. He will also obey them without a second thought, even if the orders seem questionable. He will not hesitate to trample whoever gets in his way either, no matter who they are and how he feels about them. Tenebris rarely has an independent thought of his own, so he doesn't usually care about the outcome or plan out his actions. To him, any problem can be solved with simple brute force, which is the only way Tenebris knows how to get things done.

Bahiti believes that she is an attractive young lioness and she lets everyone know it. She is extremely vain, so she spends a lot of her time grooming her fur to absolute perfection. Naturally, she is the type who gets whiny whenever her fur gets bits of debris in it. Bahiti is also quite sassy and far from shy when it comes to talking to unfamiliar creatures. She will brag and obsess about her so-called accomplishments to the point of driving others away. Her accomplishments do not tend to very impressive, either. Bahiti is lazy, so she only raises a paw when she absolutely has to, and she has no real ambition. Nothing in the world can encourage her to get up and do something she doesn't want to do.
Despite all of her flaws, Bahiti has a good heart. While she may be selfish and overconfident most of the time, she is extremely protective of her friends and family. If someone she cares about is struggling, it isn't unusual to see Bahiti setting aside all of her personal delights and shedding her usual laziness to help. Growing up partially in the Tuait'tekem pride has taught her to be kind and virtuous to please the gods, and while she doesn't particularly follow any of her birth pride's beliefs, she still thinks that one must be generous and helpful when it matters. At her worst, Bahiti can put a lot of strain on her few friendships, but those who stick by her will be rewarded with Bahiti's eternal loyalty.

Details
Neema is a sweet little wild dog who doesn't wish harm on anyone. While she is not particularly shy, she is so soft-spoken and uncomfortable with making noise that it is sometimes hard to tell that she is there. Neema can be intimidated by large, vocal groups of creatures due to the high volume, so she communicates best when she is face to face with someone. Naturally, she prefers to be in a quiet, calm environment and she rarely feels awkward being with others in silence, since she does not see the need to speak if nothing has to be said. Neema tends to make a great companion for anxious and shy animals since she will not pressure them to speak. She will treat everyone with kindness no matter what they say or do not say.
It is easy to see that Neema is a caretaker by nature. She loves to nurture others and watch them grow to their full potential. Sometimes Neema can be so focused on assisting others that she forgets to tend to her own needs, but the reward of seeing her companions thrive makes up for her self-sacrifices.
A relaxed and good-natured lion, Shebh tends to have an air of calm confidence around him. Nothing seems to ruffle his fur, and he does not like to stir up trouble himself, so Shebh can get along with a wide range of creatures. His reserved nature makes him very careful about what he says and does, but he doesn't avoid socializing. He simply thinks a situation out thoroughly before he acts or speaks.
Having been born and raised in the roguelands has also given Shebh a healthy level of curiosity. He enjoys visiting prides and exchanging news with the locals. Sometimes, he may stick around to assist a pride in some way, but Shebh prefers to take a neutral stance when it comes to pride problems. Even prides that appear to have shady morals will be safe from Shebh's judgement, as he does not feel that he has the right to question values and beliefs that he may not understand. He may only act against a pride's rules if his personal safety is in danger. Nevertheless, he can be very tolerant of things that other lions may find wrong. Shebh's curiosity drives him to learn as much as he can about individuals and their prides, but he has no desire to join one or to get deeply involved with their affairs.
