Aspirations: To become a trick shooter like his grandfather!

Personality: Torva is a man that is all flash at the present. He will be practicing hard to learn magic and to control various spells but he will use them in a manner that is meant for entertainment purposes first and foremost. As such he won't really start out as being all that great of a fighter, instead being the sort that would try to duck out of fights if at all possible. The idea of actually fighting with his weapons not being something that would occur to him at first. He wants to be a grand entertainer, not a fighter, so if he does find himself in a fight he would instantly be in over his head, and likely end up getting his backside handed to him quickly... that or he might try to talk his way out of it instead. That is something that wouldn't really work in every situation but he will at least make the attempt.

He's a very energetic sort, seeming as though he has boundless amounts of energy, always running to and fro, chatting with anyone who will listen, be it those from his group or any random person that he comes across. He's the sort that will talk someone's ear off about nothing in particular before then bothering them in turn about what they might be up to, where they are heading, how their day is going, and the like before inviting them to come and watch one of his family's performances.

Given the nature of the group he's grown up in Torva is quite a strange character. One that can be seen doing things like walking about on his hands or doing back flips for those around him, whatever might entertain and awe those he's hanging out with. If he can impress someone then he will do his best to do just that. He wants to entertain after all and until he can get his hands on the guns that he's so desires so that he can begin trick shooting he will stick to the acrobatics that he's been taught since he was able to walk.

Bio: Torva's family has always been one of entertainers. The sort that put their all into making sure that those around them are enjoying themselves through their various feats. Their list of talents can range a bit, with some of them having dancing abilities, some being musicians, those that train beasts to perform tricks, and so long. With the advent of the magical guns another aspect has more recently been added, that of 'trick shooting' which is something that those with only the best control over their magic are allowed to venture into. One has to be able to control a magical bullet after all with the sheer force of their skill alone. It's not something that just any member of the group is allowed to do but it's something that Torva wants nothing more then to learn due to being so in awe of his grand father who is the most skilled in their group at such things.

Torva's mother, Serfie, is a musician of the group, and one that is a little uncertain about the idea of her son following in the footsteps of her father-in-law. She'd hoped that he would follow in her steps as a musician since he's fairly good at carrying a tune but to no avail. Her son had always looked up to the old man with awe, meaning that he'd chosen as just a youngling as he watched his performances. She worries for Torva since it's not an easy job that he wants to pursue but it's still his chosen path. Still, she isn't going to force her son to take up a career that he isn't interested in just because she feels that it would be easier for him. Instead she feels that if it's what he wants to do then he should... and if he ends up being unable to keep up with the training then he can always follow in her footsteps instead.

Two two aside the rest of the group is made of other members of the family. Aunts and Uncles, siblings, cousins, and the like, as well as the one the husbands, wives, and such of the group that married in and wanted to join up. Not everyone of their marriage partners join the group as entertainers, some continuing on with the jobs that they had before their weddings, but there are those who will join up. It tends to be a lot of magic users that are brought into the fold the most often or the occasional big, beefy sort that can take up the role of strong man. It mostly depends on what they were doing before hand. It's not required that they join the entertainment group but if they can then they are more then welcome. That was how Torva's mother joined, having married into the group. Her husband, Torva's father Willen, being a man that does tricks with his dual swords, including juggling them along with other blades and various other dangerous stunts. After their marriage she shared her musical talents with the group where they were needed, finding it fun to be a part of things.

Other then Torva, Willen and Serfie have three other children, identical twin youngling daughters, Kinna and Ketra, who are just getting into their training, and a son older, Tylarl who is a knife specialist like his father. Torva gets on well with his siblings, his 'baby' sisters especially because there are many times when he is in charge of babysitting them while his parents are practicing or performing. It's a task that he finds to be fun though the pair enjoy playing tricks on him and seeing how often they can get him mixed up or get him to call them by the wrong names. His older brother can be a bit tough on him when it comes to his training but that is only because he wants to make sure that Torva is able to succeed.

Over all it's a close knit family but in a bigger way then just the five of them as they live with, travel with, and travel with the rest of the group as a whole. Sharing responsibilities isn't something that is strange among their group. So while Torva loves and respects his parents, helping them where he can, he will also do the same for everyone else in the group as well.

Torva isn't really the sort that followed along with a lot of what was going on with the airships and the travel to the new continent, hearing only the rumors about it. His training and family bot being far more important to him. The moment that there was success though and there was actually a chance that he might see one of the outsiders he found himself more interested. To be able to see those of a new land is something that he rather loves the idea of. To be able to see what their magic is like, what their people are like, and what they do for fun, it all makes him want to go and chat with the outsiders in hopes that he might be able to learn from them in a way that will add to his skill set. The idea of visiting other entertainers outside of those within Belrea has become a goal of his, though it's not something that he will do until he gets to Stage 2. As a prentice he will feel that he is too young and his knowledge still too lacking to bother the outsiders with his interest. He means to stick around home until he feels 'ready'. Now if any of the outsiders were to come and visit Belrea then he would be one of the first in line to bother them, wanting to chat them up and make friends straight away.

Once he does head out his main goals will include meeting other entertainers of various sorts as well as different magic users. Chatting with them, learning from them, and working alongside of them is something that will hold great interest to him come the future. These are plans that he hasn't shared yet with his family as he is pretty certain that they won't approve, especially given that at the present the air ships aren't exactly what a person would deem as being trustworthy yet. Traveling on them is a gamble, one that his mother would be very unhappy that he is willing to even consider. His grandfather would likely be even less likely to approve given that he tends to be a strict sort, especially when it comes to training. Letting them know is something to be saved for another day... one that Torva will be only too happy to put off for a while.

~ In the midst of his training Torva is working hard at having fun! It's hard to not enjoy his training when it's something that is as fun and entertaining as his. It probably helps that he is a part of an family of entertainers and circus folk.

He means to work there until he can get permission from his grandfather to go to Tendaji, wanting to learn more about the people and performers there for a while before returning home.

~ Torva's family is made up of a group of traveling entertainers so they tend to often times be on the road. They do have a couple places that they can stop and stay for extended periods of times in a couple places but more often then not they are on the move. As such Torva can presently be found anywhere on Belrea.

A very odd, ditzy creature that travels with their group. Torva has had Svana since the beast was just a little baby. He loves her dearly though she is often getting dragged off by the twins to play.

EARTHLINGS: LIGHTNING

The newly discovered continent of Belrea is home to the Lightning earthlings. Having grown and flourished to the east of Tendaji, this land was quick to develop and establish itself as a mecca of technologies and innovations that the western continent of Tendaji had barely dreamed of achieving.

Vibrant is the simplest definition of the lightning earthlings. Their skin has evolved into a warm yellow coloring, while their crystals are vibrant greens. Their crystals can be found predominantly on their faces, shoulders, legs, and spines. The lightning earthlings grow vibrant orange hair, naturally curly, though not always kept that way.

Their eyes are one of their strangest features. They vary from vibrant greens to purples, but their pupils look like they have been scattered vertically, with a lighter circle of color outlining them.

Their clothing tends to be tame compared to their physical features, using browns, tans, and blacks, with bronze and silver accessories. They use an overabundance of buckles and clasps, and tend to have more of a working feel to them, it wouldn't be uncommon to see sturdy boots and a pair of gloves as every day attire. The lightning earthling do enjoy just using a singular accent color, something to give them a vibrant pop in their outfits, whether it be in a design, or as one article of clothing like a pair of socks.

The people of Belrea are an eccentric bunch, and it seems as if evolution has come to agree with the idea.


Religion: Being so science focused as a society, there isn't much in the way of religion to the Lightning Earthlings. While more rural areas of Belrea have developed their own small forms of religion and beliefs, there is no official religion of Belrea.

Government:
The Lightning Earthlings have placed technology and knowledge on the highest of pedestals, focusing on knowledge growth as the utmost priority for their society. In their mind, technology is the foundation for nourishment, growth, and safety for their society, and thus it is the highest form of government. They feel that by improving technology, they can in turn improve society. They are the most technologically advanced race of any in Tendaji.

The Lightning Earthlings have the Academy of Steam, where the brightest minds gather together to discuss current needs and assign sectors for those roles. Anyone who has made a grand impact on society will most likely be extended an invitation to join the academy based on approval from the current members. Always, there is at least one member from each sector represented in the academy.

A majority of Lightnings are part of the following sectors (rarely, will they be members of the other half): the Sector of Knowledge (Teaching), the Sector of Innovations (Energy, Technology, Power), the Sector of Transportation (Rails, Roads, Carts), and the Sector of Leisure (Theater, Music Halls, Sport).

Each sector is responsible for developing, maintaining, and running technology for their field, and almost always a family will stay in the same sector for generations.
