Prompt: Kind of a combination of 1 & 2!

Cináed

Panting and out of breath, Cináed felt his eyes come back into focus. His first instinct was to look at his surroundings, to ensure it was over. Secondly, in a panicked manner, he checked to see if anyone had seen. He was lucky this time. No one was around, at least that he could tell. He felt exhaustion wash over him, almost over powering the relief that he was alone this time. The last time he'd had one of those... day-dreams... he hadn't been so lucky. The last time someone saw... Cináed had fled.

Cináed felt his mind wander back to when he was very young... His mother, with Cináed having been an only cub, told Cináed that he was never to tell anyone what he done from time to time, or he'd be in trouble. As he grew, it morphed from fear of being in trouble, to fear of rejection by his mother. He always felt like his mother didn't accept him, for his... quirk. Though it was infrequent, when the day-dreams struck, they were quaking and powerful. Once, as an adolescent, he'd had a day-dream so over powering that when he came to, his mother was crying. That was the last night he spent with his mother, unable to cause her further pain.

Now, he believed it was his dirty secret, still never having told others. Once with his mother, then no one... Cináed grew incredibly alone. He was lucky enough to come across the most welcoming group of lions, he was encouraged to try and live amongst his own again. He'd been successful... until now.

Sadness now overwhelmed him, realizing he'd never be able to stay. Despite how kind they were... he would be the freak if anyone knew. Their kindness couldn't be expected to reach as far as to extend to his... disability. His hinderance. He didn't even understand what happened when the episodes struck. They were lions he didn't know, and were sometimes... violent. Terrifying. With a loud grown, Cináed buried his face into his folded arms.

"Are you... ok?" A young lioness he'd seen before appeared from around a shrub. She was earthy toned, and blended in very well...

With a jolt, Cináed stood to his feet in shock. Oh no. "I'm... uhm." He swallowed. "Yes. I'm fine."

"What was your vision about?" She seemed pleasantly curious, still young enough to have her genuine curiosity without filter.

Fearing she knew more than she possibly could, Cináed felt his blood drop to his feet. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Concern crossed her face as she tilted her head. "You had a vision. I've seen them before. We have a Grandmother that has them..." Her brows furrowed at the lion's obvious panic. "Didn't you... have one? It looked really scary for you. I was worried you needed some help, or someone to talk to."

Cináed shook his head with confusion. "What are you... talking about? Visions?" He took rapid steps towards the young lioness. "There someone here that has... visions?"

The lioness, now very worried, told him. "Yes. When God's have children... the children are seers. Didn't you... know?"

Cináed couldn't feel his nerves. It was like he was stunned with disbelief. "Gods...?"

"I.. think you should sit down."

[Epilogue: the young lioness (NPC) explains what Gods are to Cináed and essentially, he figures out he had a father that must have been a god. He doesn't know who, but that he wasn't just a freak and that were others like him out in the world.]

Lioness' Name: Bhumi (meaning: earth, soil, sanskrit)
Personality: Bhumi is right to represent earth. Levelheaded, stable, and always steady, Bhumi is collected and rarely thrown off balance. Though quiet, she is filled with kindness, and would give the hide off her back for anyone in her pride. Not to say she doesn't like to cut loose. Playing in the dirt with peers and cubs has always been a favorite past time (note her dirty coat that gives the appearance she's been mucking about anyway!). It's also no secret.... Bhumi is a cuddler. It's difficult for her sleep if she doesn't have a body pressed against her at night, purring until she slips into slumber and is frequently going up to cubs and friends to give them affectionate licks on their cheeks or foreheads. Loving and in control, Bhumi feels her connection with earth above the others in nature, pulling her strength from her feet and into her heart.
