I won't be surprised if it ends up being another gold dump/forum event like most of the other events have been lately. Unless the items are really good, I don't know if I'll even bother participating (if I even have time with my schedule).

It is.
And I was correct about not even wasting my time participating. I chose a team just to get the achievement for that aspect but beyond that, I have no interest. None of the items even appeal to me.
