The way battles work here is simple, instead of calculating damage we just use a simple roleplay system. Just roleplay out your attacks against the foe and they response accordingly; if they got hit, dodged, it hit something else, etc. We just ask you use common sense and don't god mod. What that means is you can't avoid everything thrown at you, you can't take a billion Hyper Beams and survive (exaggeration but you get it), and your Magikarp will not defeat Arceus (...right?).
Every Pokemon your Pokemon defeats in battle earns them Evolution Points* based on the Pokemon's evolution stage accordingly:

Second Stage (Clefairy, Charmeleon, etc.) = 1.5 Evolution Point
Third Stage (Azumarill, Dragonite, etc.) = 2 Evolution Points
Base Stage (Zangoose, Tauros, etc.) = 1.5 Evolution Point
*Shadow Pokemon will gain Purification Points instead, but the rates stay the same. However, using them alongside non-Shadow Pokemon will mean they stand a good chance of being infected themselves unless an Immunizer's used.
