ASPIRATIONS/PERSONALITY/BIO

Aspirations: Saraf has already fought in a few battles against the warriors of the North and has found that a single, long bladed sword feels right in his hands. All he needs to do now is to prove himself to the highers up as being worthy of keeping the weapon even after the invasion is over and he's returned to Oba once more. To be allowed to continue life as a swordsman in the Oban army is all that he could ask for, well that along with glory, prestige, and one day the ability to serve at the king's side, but for the time being he sees becoming a swordsman as a good first step toward all that.

Personality: Saraf is an arrogant, self assured, confident man who knows his place in the world and feels that it is one that involves him leading the Oban forces when it comes to continued conquest of the world. He's seen a couple victories already and means to see more of them. He is zealously loyal to king and country, feeling that his people are the superior ones in both their might, intelligence, and everything else that one could be superior in. As such he isn't one that is likely to really be bothered with making friendly with those who are outside of his tribe. In his mind those who aren't of Oban are enemies that need to be defeated and captured, nothing more.

Bio: Saraf's birth is one of questionable origin, he was raised by his mother who used to be the mistress of a nobleman but she was left by the man when he got married to a woman of similar status. Saraf was born long after the man left his mother and he knows nothing of who it was exactly. His mother seems to have no interest in telling him and truth be told he doesn't care to know. The man abandoned his mother after all and even if it was for a reason that might appear as a good one it doesn't mean he has to life the idea of the man.

Instead of worry about the guy or any potential gain that being a nobleman's son might have garnered him he instead is fighting for what he can get with his own hands. He seems no reason to whine about not being handed everything on a silver platter when he can just as easily fight for it himself. He means to do all he can do to get stronger, to rise in the ranks of the Oban army, and make sure that his mother gets all the things that she deserves, all the things that her former lover denied to her when he left her. Better that he help to elevate her status after all then someone who might take advantage of her heart again if you asked him.

~ A very loyal soldier of Oba, Saraf is a man with a bit of an arrogance problem. He seems on the outside to be a bit of a jerk but he does at least have a soft spot for his mother, a sweet woman he wants to see happy. He fought hard in the war against the 'savages' of the North but came out of the war with a scar and an eye that doesn't quite work right... along with an intense dislike for the Shifters as a whole.

~ Saraf finds himself dragged around on some adventures, sent to war, and transferred to a new branch of the army to help with some bandit issues. He's also continuing forward toward his dream of being an officer, though he knows now that it won't be that easy. Not that anything ever is.

~ Now wielding a grand sword and the power of a knight Saraf means to continue onward with his dreams of rising ever further in the ranks of the Oban army. There were a few set backs here and there, the sort that caused him to be transferred to another unit, but he doesn't mind. It's just a different sort of training that will help him to further hone his skills is all. It's just a shame his current unit is so far from home.

~ Saraf is finally starting to grow up and mature in many ways. Not only is he working in a different unit then he'd planned but he's working with different people as well. On top of that he's found himself a wife from the Matori tribe and the two of them were blessed with a pair of rambunctious twins. He's a lot happier now then he ever was, all thanks to letting go of past bigotry which allows him to see a bright future.

~ Elred, a spoiled kitty that Saraf's mother got for him in hopes of helping him to perk up again after everything he's been dealing with of late. The feline seems to like Saraf and his mother Emi, often seen with one or the other but doesn't take well to others coming into the house. Strangers tend to have to deal with glaring, hissing, and the occasional claw swipe from the perzi.

~ Grane, a janarim that Saraf captured with his own two hands. The beast was then given over to a beast tamer he knows, one from his unit not Nuri, to be be trained as a mount. The beast will make traveling around the deserts of Oba a lot easier now that Saraf has found himself assigned to a unit that constantly patrols the sands.

Earthlings: Fire

The people of Oba live in cramped conditions, producing Tendaji's first real cities to reside in its time. These fire earthlings live in a desert-like environment with two large Oases that the cities crowd around. This requires light, breezy fabric and shoes to endur the heat of the sands during the day.

The fire earthlings of Oba have skin ranging from a medium tan to a skin the shade of night, all in a reddish hue. Their hair is dominated by reds and browns, ranging from light browns to dark deep reds and blacks, this red hue seems to also carry into their eyes, ranging from light light red, almost white, to deep wine colors. Like the other earthlings of Tendaji, the Obans have crystals, though these crystals are large, orange, and shaped like smoothed, polished rocks, not round, but not rough either. These large orange crystals are found almost exclusively on their shoulders and upper backs, possibly creeping up to their necks or as far forward as their upper chest, residing in virtually no other place on their bodies.

Due to the structure of their society and the working of their people, they have a wide spread belief that they not only are the favored people of Tendaji, but they are meant to rule the rest of their neighbors. Even those who do not actively want to conquer, can't seem to find it in themselves to care about what happens to the other folks of Tendaji, having the ingrained belief that they are chosen by the gods and turning a cheek to the rest of Tendaji, almost as if they don't know how to acknowledge other's sufferings or degrading positions in comparison to their own society.

Religion: The people of Oba believe in a whole pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, partitioning all parts of life to a god such as birth, death, fishing, ocean, a king and queen of the gods, etc. There is always a different name to pray to depending on the situation at hand. The major players in their pantheon include:

Government: The people of Oba live under a nobility system that peaks with a King to dictate all that goes on in his lands. The King and his family, as well as many of the nobles live in Sulburi, Oba's capitol, while there are lesser nobles living in the other large cities as the eyes and ears of the King. The King also dictates the forces of his army, which involve another system of rank including generals, advisors, and strategists that all live within the city of Sulburi in the surrounding area of the palace.
