Riku finally made her way into the Mirage Arena after a little bit of difficulty. Well to put it in simple terms, she had gotten lost. Badly. One path had led her back to the pokemon center. The other led her towards the classroom. But finally she had spotted the Battle Room. After a couple more minutes of searching, she had finally come across the right place. Okay, so maybe she didn't have a very good sense of direction. Instead she looked at the two pokemon who flanked her. Regardless of who went first, all of her pokemon were here to train. They could decide amongst themselves who wanted to go.
Sir Aiden looked at Ryuu and their gazes met. Coming to a mutual agreement, the fire dog stepped forward. His eyes flickered across the arena. He didn't know what this room would be like, unlike what Ryuu had experienced when he arrived at the academy. The Battle Room was similar to this and so the Larvitar knew that anything could pop out and surroundings could change to anything as well. Sir Aiden just awaited to see what his opponent would be. He was ready for the battle to begin. Pokemon: Growlithe Name & Level: Sir Aiden von Fegefeuer der Wüstenhund [Sir Aiden the Desert Dog of Purgatory] , 3 [Temperament] Quirky Stats: HP:17/PP:20/ATK:10/DEF:8[9]/SPD:9/SP-ATK:10/SP-DEF:8 MOVES: Bite, Morning Sun, Howl, Flame Charge EXP: 11/200 Held Item: Resist Feather Bio: After Riku was journeying back towards the beginning of the island, she ran across a strange Growlithe. He seemed a little older and stranger then most pokemon they had encountered and yet not as violent. He challenged the pair to a duel and lost. Ryuu managed to knock him out with a powerful Bite attack, though luckily the pokemon was still barely conscious. With that, the pair were able to capture the Growlithe and he is a good addition to their team.

The very first thing to appear from amidst the darkness most certainly would not be what the child or her Pokemon had been expecting. Dressed all in black, his form practically melding with the shadows, Professor Rook would step into view several feet in front of Riku. "My, took you long enough. I left after you and yet I've been waiting for half an hour" The man remarked, raising an eyebrow beneath his mask; and although the girl couldn't see the expression, it was hinted at in his tone.
"Normally the Arena will shut down after three consecutive battles in order to prevent too much strain on both the system, and the Pokemon battling..." The man would state "...however that hardly helps with your training, now does it?" He remarked with a smirk, now proceeding several feet to right.
"MIRAGE: CODE 31337" The man would abruptly bark, his voice carrying rather well in the otherwise empty arena. Prompted by the command, a section of the floor would begin to glow, a pedestal rising from the floor, a key pad and palm reader sitting atop it. Wordlessly the Professor would stride to the monolith, entering a four digit code with a series of swift finger movements, and then pressing his left hand into the palm reader...one which seemed to have an odd, round depression in the middle of it. A brief green glow would come from beneath the professors hand, and then the pedestal would sink into the floor.
"I've unlocked the inhibitor. For now, you'll be able to battle as much as needed freely...however the device will reset the moment you leave" The Professor instructed, the area around them beginning to waver and shift "Have fun" He said with a wave of his hand, and as the scenery changed, he would disappear.
All around Riku the air would suddenly turn blue, the ground turning to sand and long green plants sprouting up and rising toward the sky. Bubbles would form with each breath...and it was then she would realize she was not surrounding by air, but rather water. Deep and cold, the terrain would change to match that of the very bottom of the ocean blue. A potentially distressing prospect...until the child realized that despite being under water, both she and her Pokemon would be able to breath with ease.
This place was known as the Mirage Arena for a reason...and things were not always as they appeared.
Suddenly something would move from amidst the rocks, a large sinewy form pulling free a hole to glance at the Growlithe upon the ground. An indistinguishable sound came from the creatures maw as it's tail snapped like a whip.
Sir Aiden had been placed in the hunters den, and this particular eel wasn't exactly known for a peace-loving nature.

Riku resisted the strong urge to jump when Professor Rook appeared out of the shadows, her violet gaze still showing her surprise. After telling her that the limit was usually three battles and realizing that three battles wouldn't be enough to help her, he then changed it so that she would be able to battle as many times as she wanted. The Mirage Arena would change back to it's normal self once she left though. Riku grinned, happy to know that she'd have a good chance to level her pokemon up and stay for awhile until she accomplished that task. Her Professor really was helping her out and she was grateful. As the scenary changed, at first when she saw the water all around, she held her breath. But after a few minutes, she couldn't hold it any longer and accidentally choked... on nothing. Air rushed through her lungs and her face looked...well..less blue. Okay, this was really strange. Thinking back to the battle room, this place must not be too different. As she spotted the eel pokemon, she was a little worried. Obviously a fire type was not going to do well in the water. For a second, she debated whether to choose another pokemon..
The fire dog was well beyond shocked. What exactly was going on here? His ears flattened tightly against his head as he realized he was underwater. How exactly was he breathing normally then? What kind of place was this? Sir Aiden spotted the eel approaching and it didn't look friendly. A growl built up in his throat and he made the decision for his trainer. Advantage or not, he was still going to fight the creature. Only way to get stronger was to fight no matter what the odds. If you won, well it would make you stronger. If you lost, then experience was still gained. Paws hitting the ground as he bound towards the eel, maw spread wide open aiming to Bite onto his opponent! [17-5] + [12-9] = 12+3= 15 DMG The eel managed to knock the breath out of the Growlithe and then he went flying through the air... water. The fire dog lay on his side for a couple seconds, panting heavily. Whew, that was one strong pokemon. His eyes narrowed as he staggered to his paws. No, he couldn't give up just yet. Claws scraping the ground, he lunged forward once more. This time as he got close to the eel, he swerved left and then tried to Bite down on the pokemon's side! Sir Aiden missed entirely and then shook his head in irritation. Eyes narrowed as he glared at his opponent. No, this battle was not going well. Reminded him off the way Ryuu had been able to win a battle that he had so desperately lost. Was he really getting weaker in his slightly older age or were the generations getting stronger? The Growlithe snarled. No, he wasn't that old. Besides he couldn't let the younger generation win. The older generation was supposed to have experience to add to their own intelligence and strength. Watching his opponent carefully, the fire dog was tense but light on his paws ready to leap away at a moment's notice. Being underwater supposedly was not good for the fire type. Sir Aiden was lucky. Watching the pokemon had actually worked. Spotting which direction the chap was coming from, he had managed to sidestep out o' the way and the eel went swimming past. While his opponent seemed a little disoriented, now was the time to strike! Huzzah! Feeling a little better, he charged forth trying to Bite his opponent once more! The lad really needed to know not to mess with his elders, wot! The eel managed to slip away again. Doubt started to form in his head but he shook it off. No, now was not the time to start worrying. The battle was still at hand and he needed to focus. The Growlithe watched his opponent and decided to risk a counter attack. It was worst at best, but in his current state he already had so much to lose. Growling, he charged toward the Huntail, maw open ready to Bite down on his opponent!
