hey, i just downloaded it , and i am wondering.. if i deposit say a palkia from my pokemon pearl ( because plat update is only in japan now ) will my little brother be able to submit a pokemon from his pokemon diamond? or do all the pokemon have to come from one game??

Yep. Once you've connected your game, you can only transfer pokemon from the same game.
