Rules.

When dealing with vampires and playing them rules are needed to keep things fair and to keep god moding out so I'm going to go over some rules here.

1.) Ask before using a discipline on someones fae, ask ooc and ask what your vampire may find out if your using snatch the mind.
2.) Ask before feeding, though Kiasyd don't drink from a victim they drink from goblets of blood most of the time. This also goes for embracing, since it does include drinking from the other persons fae.
3.) Follow all faekat vampire rules.
4.) Try to keep to the bloodline and how there played, at least somewhat closely.
5.) Follow all faekat rules.
6.) Follow all Gaia rules.
7.) Have fun!

The Kiasyd Bloodline.

Weirdlings, darklings, few seem to know what to make of the Kiasyd and even fewer know of them, which is fine by the Kiasyd. Kiasyd don't like others seeking to pry into there lives and learn things best left to the Kiasyd to know of and not others, as it should be.

The moniker, weirdlings, aptly describes the hybrid bloodline that has taken the name Kiasyd. The roots of the Kiasyd bloodline have been lost to time, as have most kindred secrets. In this case it may be for the best, as it's whispered that the Kiasyd are not fully kindred. What is known as fact may be lies spread by the Kiasyd to protect other kindred and themselves from a truth too strange to accept. The Malkavians on the other hand say that the best hiding place is in the truth itself. Be it truth or fiction, the known history of the Kiasyd is unusual by kindred standards by the lack of direct aggression, or convert manipulation by the bloodline.

The actual date that the Kiasyd line came into being is debated. Some point to the obvious "scratch my back" relation with the Lasombra, as proof that the bloodline is young enough to have been created shortly after the Sabbat rose to power. Others, and notably older kindred, point the fact that the Kiasyd are rarely active members in the Sabbat, and that the generation of the Kiasyd founder should be proof enough that the Weirdlings' blood is much older then the Sabbat.

The Kiasyd do not speak on the subject.

History.

Fortunately for those who wish information on the bloodline, a small amount of history has been collected.

Long before the Sabbat or the Camarilla, in the first few centuries after Christ, during the reign of Julian the Apostate, a trio of Lasombra formed a pact to discover the source and nature of their shadowy discipline, Obtenebration. They studied Thaumaturgy; they took spirit journeys; they bargained for and stole information.

Finally, after having little success, they began a new avenue of approach. Inspired by passages in the Book of Nod and the Lillith Cycles detailing Caine's own realization of his powers, they turned to blood experimentation. Convinced that their Discipline arose from the shadows of hell itself, they set out to delve deeper into their only "lead." They hunted down and capture darker fae, specifically the Unseelie faeries who hid among the shadows and spoke with the dead. They bartered with an unnamed Teutonic magi for a vial of the "blood of Zeernebooch, a god of the underworld."

The "bravest" of the trio, the fifth generation Lasombra Marconius, volunteered his vitae for the experiment. Although they began at first with mere samples, a lack of results pushed the three to more desperate measures. Through transfusion and experimentation, they altered Marconius' very soul, and he became something only part vampire. The fae blood and essence and the supposed blood of the Teutonic deity drastically transformed Marconius.

He grew thin and gaunt, even for one of the undead, and he grew by more than a foot in height, dwarfing his erstwhile companions. His eyes deepened and clouded over, turning completely black, without any sign of pupil or schlera. His skin assumed an almost perfectly smooth feel, becoming nearly translucent and almost an otherworldly white. His fingers stretched out. His eyes, nose, and cheek bones took on a more defined and angular look to them. His ears sharpened to slight points. And his hair became silken-smooth and light, even the slightest breeze sent locks wafting into the air.

Marconius became something that looked otherworldly and ethereal. He became something no longer wholely vampiric.

Needless to say, the Lasombra were little pleased by the groups endeavors, and Marconius' companions were slain. Marconius, luckily, was spared. Some say that it was because the Lasombra were led to believe that the local fae wanted to deal with the creature themselves.

They pushed Marconius into the wilderness, leaving him to the fae, and put the whole nasty issue out of their minds. After all, even if the fae left him alone, how could such freakish monstrosity survive?

For nearly a thousand years it seemed that they were right, until Strasbourg.

The Ventrue of that region of France were frantic, giving reports of "pale, gaunt monsters with the Devil's own luck." From the detailed words of their spies in the Ventrue courts, the Lasombra knew the attackers to be Marconius and several childer. Not only had Marconius survived, but he had managed to do well enough to Embrace several others. It seemed that the fae had not punished Marconius, but had instead given him succor.

Evidencing odd powers and a dangerous unpredictability, Marconius and his Kiasyd, as he named his childer, defeated the Ventrue and took the city. The Lasombra debated stepping in, but decided against it. After all, the bloodline was small, and they were bothering the Ventrue, the Lasombra's major rival in politics, and it seemed that Marconius bore no ill-will toward his former Clan. Also, many believed Marconius' success to be a mere quirk of fate. He got lucky and nothing more. They were unaware how right they were.

Save for their appearance at Strasbourg, the Kiasyd are known to be a very passive bloodline, as a whole. They have gained a reputation as quiet scholars, although younger members of the bloodline commonly go through a period often lasting a few centuries pursuing dramatic adventure in the name of knowledge.

Marconius still holds Strasbourg to this day, despite repeated attempts by the Ventrue and their allies from France and Germany to retake it. He rules loosely, as few vampires live in the city regularly. A few of his brood dwell there, with him, but most Kiasyd have their own, personal havens in libraries or historic ruins around the world.

Speculation on their Fae Origins.

No one is quite sure just what happened over 16 centuries ago to create the Kiasyd, and no one is sure just where Marconius was during the 800 years before taking Strasbourg, but there are theories.

As far as the experiment itself, many believe that the Lasombra trio used powerful magics to capture several Unseelie Sluagh and perhaps Sidhe. They point to the Kiasyd's appearance and quiet, dignified manner.

They then melded their faerie souls with the blood they obtained from the magi (the blood of "Zeernebooch, god if the underworld") and applied the mixture to the unsuspecting Marconius.

Less forgiving theorists say that Marconius, perhaps full of the power of "Zeernebooch's" blood, consumed the fae whole, drinking their blood and their souls, fully aware of what he was doing.

Another variant on this is the idea that Marconius (or another of the trio) Embraced the fae and then diablerized them. There is little to support this idea, however.

Either way, the Kiasyd have fae blood as well as kindred vitae flowing through their dead veins.

As for where Marconius was after his exile and before Strasbourg, even less is known. Marconius has refused to ever speak of it, even flying into a rage at persistent questioners, breaking his usual calm demeanor with terrifying brutality.

The most commonly believed rumor is that Marconius was taken to Arcadia by Unseelie nobles and taught his powers of Mytherceria. Those more knowledgeable in Fae Lore and Gremayre dispute this, claiming that no fae would trust a vampire so much as to bring them into Arcadia. It is much more likely, they say, that Marconius was taken into an Earthbound freehold or into the Near Dreaming.

They are also doubtful to any claims that the Unseelie Sidhe sheltered Marconius out of a feeling of kinship, pessimistically saying that the Sidhe wanted to study Marconius to understand the transformation.

There is mention of a Sidhe Changeling (rare in that time) who wanted to incarnate into mortality permanently and become immortal. He lived in Spain, the center of Clan Lasombra's power, and disappeared just after the disastrous experiment. Most Lasombra believed that the Fae had left the local vampiric court out of anger at the experiment. The suspicious and conspiracy theorists believe that the HighBorn reappeared in Strasbourg just before Marconius and his childer, based on sketchy descriptions from frantic Ventrue.

Whatever the case, even the most optimistic of Kiasyd are deeply bothered by the fact that the gates to Arcadia closed forever a scant two centuries ago...a blink of an eye for an Elder...after Marconius' return and capture of Strasbourg.

Did Marconius leave Arcadia of his own accord?

Was he expelled?

Was he ever actually there, at all?

Other rumors and speculations.

It should be no surprise that the quite, reclusive, Kiasyd would be questioned. Many wonder about these weirdlings but since nothing is being said by them it shouldn't be a surprise that rumors crops up all about them.

Like written above about their fae blood and how they came into it this section will mention other rumors about the Kiasyd.

-Kiasyd only embrace fae who have not yet come to realize their heritage.

-The Kiasyd were the ones who provided the information that lead to the diablerization of the Lasombra founder. By doing this, Marconius's revenge was sated. The downfall and disgrace of the Lasombra that followed was more of an icing on the cake.

-Kiasyd's allergy to iron is not thier only flaw. Thier thirst for knowledge is a trait that cannot be escaped.

- Kiasyd have the ability to use the powers of the fae to a frightening degree.

-The Kiasyd bloodline is in constant contact with the Shadow Court of the Changelings.

-The Kiasyd do not consider themselves to be fully kindred, and thus some have developed a taste for Diableri. While kind to members of their own clan, if enraged, the transgressor may find themselves held as a meal for the angered wierdling.

-The eldest of the Kiasyd living in Strausberg have a complete library, history, and research on the kindred. Locations of Antediluvians resting places, and secrets thought to be buried lay in Marconius's personal library.

-Marconius and his original Strausberg brood found, and diablorized the council that sentenced Marconius to exile, during the Lasombra clan revolt against their elders

-An entire group of Kiasyd have devoted themselves to recovering the book of Nod.

-Another section of Kiasyd are researching the disappearance of the Ravnos and the reason behind the week of Nightmares.

-A third group is outside the borders of Russia, investigating the sudden disappearance of all kindred within Russia itself.

None of what's listed above can be proven since the bloodline isn't about to answer questions, that's if you can even find one of it's members, so for now it's simple rumor and speculation.

What is for sure is that this bloodline is sure to generate more rumors as their eldest, their founder, is now awake once more.

Stereotypes.

Us on them:

Assamite: Tools who have turned on all but one of their wielders. Beware.

Brujah: Fallen children of Carthage. We mourn your loss.

Followers of Set: They tease with the fruit of knowledge. Make sure you know the price before you pay.

Gangrel: The beast has found a home in this clan and thier ways. Watch for it when conversing with them.

Giovanni: They look for knowledge in it's original place. To talk with the dead...fascinating.

Lasombra: Bear them no malice, but remember that they not only turned on us in the past, but themselves.

Malkavian: Cousins.

Nosferatu: Seekers of a much cruder manner. Unfortunately their time has come.

Ravnos: Their time has passed.

Toreador: To absorbed in the present to learn from the past, and too self absorbed to be given more then cursory attention.

Tremere: Their time is coming. Saluot's eye is opening upon this clan.

Tzimisce: They are the Lasombra's mirror. Watch the reflection well.

Ventrue: Respectful house guests, but make sure they leave their mantles at the door.

Caitiff: Heralds of Ghenna perhaps, note their actions well.

Them on us:
The Camarilla: Ah, yes; I have long wanted to question one of these fey chroniclers.
- Athosides, Tremere archivist.
The Sabbat: I don’t know what they have to do with the rest of us. Don’t they just read and write? That s**t’s for pussies.
- Joey Two-Cuts, Malkavian antitribu renegade.
The Independents: You can tell when they craft lies for your sake – their lips move.
- Hesha, Setite

Kiasyd personality and culture.

The Kiasyd are scholars and keepers of secrets. They tend to be observers rather than taking an active part in acts such as War Parties. Kiasyd don’t like to take physical actions against an opponent, preferring to spar with wits and words instead. They jealously guard their knowledge and their private collections. While a Kiasyd’s home is always open to visiting members of the bloodline, all Kiasyd are viciously territorial, and most cities house one member of the bloodline at most. Weirdlings don’t like to compete with each other for knowledge. If one encounters two Kiasyd together, it is most likely an elder with her childe, who may study with the elder for upward of 50 years. Eventually, however, her time will come when the childe will seek his own haven, almost always in a different community.

Weirdlings have a formal, almost Victorian organization, based on numerous distinctions that have meaning only to other Kiasyd. Every 50 years, all Kiasyd attend a formal affair at the haven of a duly-selected member of the bloodline, where they discuss new lore they’ve unearthed and new mysteries they’ve unraveled. Very rarely, the Kiasyd invite an outsider or Sabbat pack, who are expected to converse intelligently in the matters the Weirdlings raise. Boorish or obstinate packs are dealt with in appropriately malevolent fashions, from wicked snubbing to unbreakable curses.

The Kiasyd are well known for being very calm and studious. Their raison d’être centers around their collection of scrolls, books, spells and vampiric lore piled high on their library shelves. Their unusual stature and unquenchable thirst for knowledge make for very high-stacked shelves indeed.

Behavior.

The Kiasyd are an oddly mannered lineage. Strasbourg is the only time that they have ever gathered aggressively in large numbers. Usually they seclude themselves and conduct their research. It is often considered a breach of etiquette if two Kiasyd other than sire and childe inhabit the same area for an extended period of time; the only exception to this is Strasbourg, where all Kiasyd are welcome.

Etiquette is very important to the Kiasyd. All members of the bloodline treat each other as brothers, despite what reservations they may have. If two Kiasyd happen to encounter each other, they always indulge in some polite conversation and blood. The blood is often treated with fine wine and rare herbs to create enticing concoctions. Many a Toreador wishes she had the skill at blood preparation that the Kiasyd do. They almost never drink directly from a vessel, considering it "vulgar" and "dirty." Many Kiasyd have crystal goblets or finely engraved chalices that they prefer to feed with.

Oaths, duty and responsibility are important concepts that lie at the core of Kiasyd thought. A sworn oath is inviolate; there are no mitigating circumstances. All have a duty and a responsibility to their fellow Kiasyd and to their fae brethren. Succor and aid should be given without a second thought. Kiasyd will unite in the face of any opposition. While two individual Kiasyd may not like each other, and they may even actively undermine each others plans, they will never allow the other to be attacked by an outside force if it is in their power to help. "Me against my brother. My brother and I against the world." Many Kiasyd tell tales of ill-fated vampires who abandoned their duties and responsibilities and ignored their fellows in their time of need, or those who betrayed another Kiasyd or fae to an outside force. Every story ends with the offender's luck abandoning him in turn and often it actually turns on him. Such Kiasyd storytellers are great lovers of Greek tragedy.

Kiasyd are also among the most calm of vampires. They never anger or become agitated, though they still feel and express emotions. Even their frenzies are disturbingly silent and seemingly calm. A Kiasyd in a frenzy makes no excess noise and their facial expression barely changes, if at all. ((Even in Rotschreck their unearthly visages are menacingly calm.))

While older Kiasyd invariably settle down to secluded havens with their stores of occult knowledge, younger Kiasyd are almost expected to be adventurous and explore to world for their first century or so. A few never really outgrow their "Indiana Jones" stage, and other Kiasyd generally look upon them as childish. Many point to Marconius himself as an example of the Kiasyd "cycle." When he appeared in Strasbourg, he was in a flurry, constantly flying about the city. Eventually though, it seemed that his energy was used up and he lapsed into the passivity common to older Kiasyd. However, this does not account for the centuries between his transformation and Strasbourg. Most Kiasyd believe that Marconius was taken to Arcadia by his faerie allies, and it was there that he developed his discipline Mytherceria.

Possible Children.

Kiasyd choose polite and intelligent mortals as progeny. Potential childer are well disciplined in their studies and share the Kiasyd’s love of books and curiosity for unearthing new knowledge. Likely choices include librarians, educators, students or museum curators. These childer usually have more professional contacts that personal friends, and they value education and learning above self-gratification.

Appearance.

The Kiasyd have retained the unusual beauty of the fae folk. Their skin color pales beyond belief and becomes almost translucent. Kiasyd skin is so white that it is nearly reflective; sometimes it even seems to glow faintly, especially soon after feeding. Rumor has it that the tone of a Kiasyd’s skin is an indication of the age of the vampire, but the Kiasyd are much too polite to talk about themselves, so no one knows for sure. They are willowy and tall – six to seven – and – a – half feet. Their eyes become more oval shaped and darken to ebony, losing any sign of a pupil. The cartilage and fleshy tissue in their ears, nose and cheeks seems to crystallize, becoming more angular in form and smoother in detail. All the little wrinkles in the skin smooth out, adding to the alien effect of the skin's color. The ears distend slightly, almost gaining an elfin point. The fingers and toes also extend, becoming inhumanly long and thin. The Kiasyd's hair also changes, becoming fine to the point of feeling like rich silk. Even the smallest movement of air can send the Kiasyd's fine tresses tossing in the wind. All of this adds up to create a unearthly and fey beauty about the vampire.

Those who see a Kiasyd's true form are often entranced by it, and none mistake if for a human.

Long hair or a bandana, and sunglasses hide their unique appearance from prying eyes.

The embrace.

All of the changes above occur rapidly, usually within the first night of two after the Embrace. The neonate must be locked up during this time, because the transformation is excruciatingly painful to endure. The newly dead vampire suffers uncontrollable fits of frenzy during this period of change. Rage and sadness sweep through the Kiasyd as she flits from one madness to another during this time, following no set pattern. Some never recover from this and must be killed out of mercy.

Haven.

Permanent, nondescript havens are important to the Kiasyd. They often seclude themselves in their havens, whiling away the innumerable hours in study. All Kiasyd, even the young ones, maintain at least one permanent haven, and some of the older ones often have several scattered about the world. Most Kiasyd are rather sedentary and stay in the same haven until it begins to fall apart or due to the curious prying of unwelcome guests. The haven is always roomy enough for guests, since although the Kiasyd are very solitary, they often visit each other.

Among the younger Kindred, library and university basements are prized. Elders prefer castles and old ruins, private libraries, museums, catacombs or art galleries. often constructing vast underground networks of stone tunnels, often enlisting faerie aid.

Whatever the style haven, it almost invariably has a large and well-stocked library, and many of the accouterments of genteel “living.” Kiasyd pride themselves in being gracious hosts, and some keep vintage vitae for guests.

Kiasyd almost invariably choose to live and sleep below the ground, preferably in stone constructs no matter what haven they take as theirs.

Organization.

The Kiasyd are nearly as informally organized as the Gangrel. There is no hierarchy among members, per se, but respect is due Elders. Kiasyd do no order each other around -- even Marconius does not -- but they do give each other "suggestions." It is considered rude to not give at least some consideration to the requests of a fellow.

The only really close intra-Clan relationships are between Sire (or mentor) and childe (or student). This bond lasts throughout the Kiasyd’s unlife, and sire and childe often visit each other, if they don't live in the same city already.

Current Activities.

Breaking with normal Kiasyd behavior, Marconius seems to be stirring in Strasbourg. Since the early seventies, he has become more and more active, taking a tighter grip on his city, despite renewed attempts to retake it from bitter Ventrue. Marconius has reportedly sent many Kiasyd out, looking for lore on Gehenna and the End Times, which he refers to as "Winter." By his side constantly now are three changelings: a pale, thin woman who never speaks; a child of such striking beauty that Toreador have traveled to the city on the mere rumor of her appearance; and an elder man of African heritage who has expressed powers remarkably similar to the Kiasyd's own Mytherceria Discipline.

All Kiasyd know that something is stirring Marconius from his passivity in Strasbourg, and many are worried. While most Kiasyd have increased their travels of late, meeting more and more with their fellows and the fae, many have become even more insular, retreating into their havens, coming out only to feed and scare off intruders. Even fellow Kiasyd have been turned away, something that up till now has been totally unheard of.

Weakness.

The Kiasyd’s shortcoming can be attributed to their mixed blood. Pure iron causes great discomfiture in the Weirdlings. Being in the presence of iron – within a numbers of yards equal to the Kiasyd’s Stamina – raises the Kiasyd’s frenzy difficulties by one. Touching it causes an immediate frenzy roll and wounds caused by iron weapons inflict aggravated damage.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 16, 2008 7:43 pm

Disciplines.

Like every clan and bloodline the Kiasyd too have disciplines and they also have a special discipline called Mytherceria, which encompasses a heightened talent for acquiring arcane knowledge. The discipline also makes them experts at creating and solving riddles.

The other two disciplines the bloodline posses are Necromancy and Obtenebration.

Mytherceria:

While possesing Necromancy and Obtenbration, the curious blood coursing through the undead veins of the Kiasyd has done some remarkable things, not the least of which has been the creation of the odd Discipline known as Mytherceria. A collection of powers attributed to the faeires and inclined toward the exposure of new knowledge, Mytherceria has driven many of its victims to babbling madness, or at least frustration. The Kiasyd are loath to teach it’s ways to others outside their bloodline – they know that were it turned against them, they may be forced to reveal secrets the world is better off not knowing.

Low Level:

*Folderol:

It becomes increasingly difficult to deceive the Kiasyd as they absorb more and more knowledge. This power reveals lies told to the Kiasyd in several different ways, which varies from vampire to vampire. Some Kiasyd perceive lies via their teller’s tongue glowing in an unnatural color, while others eyes well up with blood tears when lied to. The manner varies from Kiasyd to Kiasyd, but the effect is always the same – he knows you have lied to him.

**Fae Sight:

Attuned to the blood of the Wild Ones, Kiasyd have some propensity for seeing the true nature of the changelings. Kiasyd can identify changelings on sight, and they can even see through to the Wild blood underneath. Additionally, they are able to recognize areas of faerie influence.

***Aura Absorption:

This power works much like the Auspex power of The Spirit’s Touch. The Kiasyd must touch or pick up on the object being read. Instead of just receiving and interpreting the psychic impressions left on the object by the last person who came in contact with it, the Kiasyd absorbs the impressions into her mind. This leaves her with a very clear interpretation of the aura, and wipes the object “psychically clean” so no one coming after wards can get an impression from the item by using this ability or Auspex. Kiasyd also use this power to mask their own possession of an object.

****Chanjelin Ward:

The vampire can create mystical wards, symbols of occult power that disorient onlookers. Many Kiasyd use these glyphs to protect their libraries, though some spiteful vampires use them as curses by placing them on individuals who have earned their disfavor.

*****Riddle Phantastique:

The Kiasyd has knowledge of many hidden and intriguing truths. He can phrase these enigmas as a vexing riddle, causing whoever hears the Riddle Phantastique to do nothing but try to solve it. The Riddle is so impenetrable that it can actually damage the fragile brains of those who think about it. Malkavian and other deranged individuals sometimes have easier times solving the Riddle, but at other times it plagues them by driving them even more insane.

High Level:

***** *Steal the Mind:

This power is a further extension of the Kiasyd’s mystical lore-gathering abilities. In their ever-increasing quest for knowledge, the Kiasyd have found a way to rip memories and knowledge from sentient beings. The Kiasyd’s victim becomes a mindless fool for the duration of this power’s effect, able to function only on a basic autonomic level (mortals continue to breathe, while vampires simply stand stupor). Normally in this state, the victim is so confused that she wanders aimlessly, or sits and does nothing. As soon as the Kiasyd purloins the memories, she often records them in a more permanent form such as a scroll or book, before they escape her own memory. This power accounts for some reports of individuals being left, foolish and duped, by “the Good Folk.”

***** **Absorb the Mind:

The Kiasyd absorbs the Abilities from her victim’s mind, and she is able to call on them immediately, even though she might have never had knowledge of them before. This power is invasive, actually stealing the Abilities permanently, leaving their original owners ignorant and inept.

***** ***The Grandest Trick:

For an exceedingly brief time, the Kiasyd may call his fae blood to prominence to subdue the Curse of Caine. The Kiasyd may become mortal again, discarding all of the benefits and drawbacks of being a vampire. While (temporarily) mortal, the Kiasyd has no knowledge or memory of being a vampire, though he retains all other knowledge and memories. Kiasyd sometimes use this power to pursue lore accessible only by day (for whatever reason), though they sometimes use it to throw witch-hunters off their trail or simply for the bittersweet pleasure of seeing sunrise without fear.

Older Version:

*Fey Sight:
A vampire with this power is in tune with faeries and things faerie. The vampire can see faerie regions (areas which are part of this world and Arcadia). They can also see through faerie glamour and see invisible faeries. The vampire can make out the faint outlines of spirits that are not on the physical plane, though this requires intense concentration.

**Darkling Trickery:
The Kiasy'd can cause minor magical pranks. The vampire can create numerous spontaneous effects, and while none of them should be overtly harmful, they most certainly should be annoying to the victim. It is up to the player and Storyteller to come up with the pranks' effects.

***Goblinism:
The Kiasy'd has an innate understanding of earth and stone. The Kiasyd can instantly identify metals, rock formations and stones. Underground, the vampire has an intuitive direction sense.
Through long and strenuous effort, the Kiasyd can also alter earth and stone. The vampire can use this power for many purposes, such as shaping tunnels, building supports for underground havens, and smoothing out surfaces into flat floors and walls.

****Faerie Warts:
The Kiasyd can protect designated areas with faerie glyphs, causing anyone who enters the area to become extremely disoriented. Kiasyd will occasionally put these glyphs on people who have offended them, causing the victim to be disoriented until the glyphs fade.

*****Riddle Phantastique:
As soon as someone hears the Riddle Phantastique, she can do nothing but try to solve it. The Riddle is so impenetrable that it can actually damage the fragile brains of those who think about it. Malkavians and other twisted degenerates, however, seem to have an easier time figuring it out.

***** *Stone Travel:
The Kiasyd can travel into the earth by creating a small tunnel. The tunnels can be used by others, but they will not be very safe and they collapse easily. The vampire is able to travel underground with almost no chance of being captured.

***** **Earth Sword:
The Kiasyd cause huge, strong spikes to shoot out of walls, ceilings and floors. These will be made of whatever material they shoot out of and can be especially dangerous to vampires in wooden houses.

***** ***Basilisk's Touch:
The Kiasyd can turn victims to solid stone simply by touching them. The effects are permanent, and the only way to reverse the effect is through powerful Thaumaturgy or by another touch of the Kiasyd.

((In Second Edition, the Kiasyd possessed Necromancy instead of Dominate as an In-Clan Discipline.))

((Previously, the lowest levels, and the highest, of Mytherceria were as described as below. What caused the shift of power, and how, is a matter of debate, as most elder Kaisyd display both sets of powers. For this reason I've listed every power until it's decided what will be used.))

Here I'm going to give three links one for each Discipline. I'm not going to write up on the other two since there not what the Kiasyd is most known for, though they were created as an experiment to understand Obtenebration, they are more well known for Mytherceria.

Ranks:

Disciple of Caine: These vampires are of the second generation and were directly sired by Caine. Little is known of these vampires as it is/was believed that they all died. However, in recent nights they have started to emerge from where they had been hiding, sleeping in wait. They are second in power to Deities only.

Antediluvian: These vampires are of the third generation, children to the Disciples. These vampires are known as the Antediluvians, so called because they predate the Flood, and it is from them that the clans are said to descend, though this is untrue. Every clan had an Antediluvian founder at one time, and most believe that they slumber the ages away in torpor. Of course, one again, these are not the founders of the clans though many may believe they are. It is they who are the true players of the Jyhad, along with the Disciples, those who move their pawns in point and counterpoint, as they have for the past centuries. Antediluvians are considered almost divine in the scope of their ability's, and all vampires, save the disciples, fear their touch upon the unlives, for none escape unscathed.

Methuselah: Fourth and fifth generation vampires these vampires are millennia old and almost as powerful as the Antediluvians. They involve themselves in the Jyhad behind screens of lesser Kindred, out of sight, as their potent blood makes them a favored target of diablerists. It is said that the most influential members of the Camarilla and the Sabbat's regent and prisci are Methuselahs.

Elder: Sixth, seventh, and eighth generations vampires. Vampires of these generations are typically considered elders. They are the most visible players of the Jyhad, and many princes, Primogen and Justicars tend to hail from their ranks. Most elders find it inconceivable that they could be manipulated in the Jyhad, although they often are, unknown to them. Elders are vampires who have existed for 300 or more years. They have mastered many magical powers during this time; most elders are deadly and formidable creatures. Elders tend to be scheming, ruthless and paranoid beings; they will do anything to hold onto their power structures, oppress or manipulate the younger "upstart" vampires, and destroy their rivals.

Ancillae: Ninth and tenth generation vampires the Ancillae walk a dangerous line. While too old and experienced to be neonates, they are usually considered too inexperienced and weak to hold their own among the elders. Most prefer to meet the night on their own terms, and the elder generations are often pursuing other concerns to do much about it. Like mortal teenagers, Ancillae are getting a taste for the power and influence that they may soon possess. Ancillae are most often vampires who have lived from 100 to 300 years of unlife, though certain ambitious younglings may achieve the rank prematurely. As their name suggests, Ancillae often serve as aides and agents for elders or the court; they usually play their own power-games as well, though these are of lesser consequence than the manipulations of the elders.

Neonate: Eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth generation vampires neonates and young Ancillae hail from these generations. Most are relatively new to vampirism, and though more potent than the mortals they hail from, they are as insects among the older generations. Inexperienced and often heady with their new power, some run rampant. Almost lowest in rank are the neonates, those vampires created less than a century ago. Though occasionally cherished, neonates are often deployed as pawns by scheming elders. This callous treatment, combined with the value recent generations place on individuality, often causes neonates to resent their elders. After all, when one came of age during the Summer of Love, it is hard to empathize with a reactionary old tyrant who grew up amid feudal oaths and Divine Rights.

Fledgling: Fourteenth and fifteenth generations vampires. These Kindred are so far removed from Caine that their blood has become weak and the curse does not manifest as strongly in them. Some are rumored to be able to bear the light of the sun or eat food, although they can rarely sire Childer. Older Kindred fear these modern youth, as The Book Of Nod makes claim that the thin-blooded ones will herald the coming of Gehenna.
