That song confuses me...
Ohaiyoo Gozaimasu=Good Morning Genki desu ka=How are you Moshi(blank)ru Might be greeting Konichiwa=Good afternoon
I think one greeting is enough sweatdrop
V's too lazy to join his Japanese Club

At our school you have to take Spanish because it's the only course they offer and you need it to graduate and go to college It sucks
Luckily my 2 spanish teachers didn't teach us anything and let us go on our laptops all class so we could "translate" the work.

Japan can be fun - right now I'm taking a course on Eastern Civiliztions, and the focus is on Japan and China.
The only 'solid' language taught at my school is Spanish, but there is also spoken French and Italian available; and recently, Arabic.
The last sparked a really fun controversy here.

Ohiyo gezimuz (I'm spelling the way they're pronounced, sorry...) genke desu ka moshi (something...) ru... Konichiwa!(Repeat) I took Japanese all for years of high school, but I'm forgetting a lot of what I've learned. crying Shiku shiku! Ohaiyo gozaimasu (Good morning) genki desu ka (How are you?) Has ne1 noticed that anime characters don't say Konnichiwa! any more? Instead they'll say Hi! but with an accent.

I am currently taking Japanese as my elective in high school. I plan to go at at it for all four years and up into college as well.
Here are some basic vocabulary terms I learned since some schools teach different things:
おはよう。- A way to say "Good morning". おはようございます。- A more respectful term for "Good morning". こんにちは。- "Good afternoon." こんばんは。- "Good evening." ありがとう。- A way to say "Thank you". ありがとうございました。- A more respectful way to say "Thank you". ぼくは- The topic of the sentence at the beginning for "I" used by boys. わたしわ- The topic of the sentence at the beginning for "I" used by girls, but in certain situations boys would also say this instead of 「ぼくは...」.
