Welcome to the Viridian Division! The students one finds here might seem lacking when compared to the members of the other classes, the chaff of the current crop... but without the trappings of societal pressures, it's easier to see what makes a man. Riches? Status? Past achievements? None of these matter here. The members of this Division were chosen for an inner potential, unearthed by our own scouts. We here at Viridian intend to shape the raw clay that is your untested abilities into something great and beautiful. Perhaps you've never been anything special. Perhaps you don't understand why you're here. Perhaps you may not see any talent. But dig in and plow onward... for from even the smallest seed can grow a mighty oak.

As you open the door to the classroom, a thick scent wafts over you-- heliotrope, strawberry, vanilla, cherry, and musk. It's unnaturally heavy, hanging over the room much like the string of hazy fairy lights on the wall, which provide the room's primary illumination. Flowers have been woven into the wires, and plotted plants line the edges of the room, adding to the strangely surreal feeling that you might have just walked into a bizarre café as instead of a classroom. Indeed, though the dim atmosphere may make it unclear at first sight, there isn't a desk to be found. Instead, beanbag chairs are scattered haphazardly across the floor. At the head of the room lies a burnished velvet fainting couch, the side table in front of it bearing what appears to be a small television. Are you sure you're in the right place?

This pokemon knows it's heritage and where he belongs and anyone who dares to try and put him anywhere below his station finds themselves left as nothing but Ash.

Naia stopped dead in her tracks as soon as she opened the door to the classroom. The scents from several kinds of flowers, fruits, and other things she couldn't identify hit the unprepared girl like a stampeding rhyhorn. Coughing, the girl quickly checked the plaque outside to confirm that she was, indeed, at the right room. Grimacing, the girl shook her head and actually entered the classroom.

Inside the room proper, the girl had even more reason to believe this was someone's idea of a prank. The room was dimly lit, with her main source of light being the strands of bulbs strewn across the walls. Plants seemed to be crammed just about anywhere and everywhere they could fit and thrive. There wasn't even a single desk in the room, nor any chairs! Just several squishy-looking blobs of fabric, a strange couch, and a small table with something on it. What there was, though, was someone else here.

Once again uncomfortable, Naia fumbled her hands into the pockets of her worn coat as she stood near one of the weird squishy blobs on the floor. "I'm supposed to report to the teacher in this... classroom to start my lessons." A bit of hesitation could be heard, since even someone like Naia doubted this place could qualify as a real classroom. "Is that you, or do I need to wait for someone else to show up?" Probably not the best thing to say, but definitely not the worst she could have said.

User Image The boy would sneeze loudly at her question as he turns to her. Dressed in the uniform of heat and flames, everything about him screamed wrong class ...as it would seem at that moment that he was the one lost.

Wiping at his nose a bit, the boy would chance his stances to his hands on his hips.

"Since, that good for nothing professor is out and about, I guess I am the one in charge here for a moment."

"I have no clue where the other assistant professor is. Considering, I am not from this stupid class, you would think they wouldn't leave me here alone so ...SO...so...SO ....ACHOOOO!"

"Stupid flower allergy."

The boy would declare as he wipes at his nose again.

"Anyway, my name is Devote Rose, and I am your assistant professor temporarily. Since, you are looking from a professor you must be one of the students of this class, so I am suppose to send you on a mission ...because you can't learn anything in this class with a single pokemon."

The boy seemed to be rambling for a moment as something occurred to him.

"Oh, then again, I might be jumping to conclusions ...show me the pokemon on your team. I need to make sure, I am sending you on the right mission ...with the stupid instructions your real professor left behind."

                                      Viridian Division

Sneezing and sniffling, the person Naia had addressed looked to be a boy not much older than herself. If anything, he looked more likely to be another student now that the girl had a good look at him. A student that, if his allergies and apparel were any indication, looked to be less of a fit for the class than she might be, so when he claimed to be the one in charge while the professor was out, Naia couldn't help but give him a skeptical raise of an eyebrow. Or maybe it was because she agreed that the boy probably shouldn't have been left alone in the room when it was obviously low-level torture for him.

Still, the boy introduced himself and yet again claimed he was an assistant in the class, so Naia wasn't about to argue. It seemed the professor had left some assignments for the students so they could get started right away... after verifying they actually had a pokemon valid for the class. "That's fine," the girl said as she looked around. "Garnet should be skulking about here somewhere." At least, Naia assumed that to be the case, since she didn't recall returning the misdreavus to her ball on the way to class.

Right on cue, the ghost pokemon faded into view near her trainer, but something was off about her. She seemed to have several small yellowish splotches on her head, which meant most of the pokemon's body. "Garnet, no," Naia warned with a stern tone, but it was too late. With a mighty shake, Garnet sent most of the pollen that had been clinging to her flying into the air. Even Naia had to cover her face and cough, and she wasn't even allergic. Garnet giggled in what would have been an innocent tone for any other type of pokemon, but from her it just sounded mischievous.

Once the coughing fit subsided, Naia had a scowl on her face. "That would be Garnet, my partner," she introduced, her tone significantly sharper now. With no more reason for the pokemon to be out, Naia quickly recalled the ghost before she could cause any further trouble. "She should be assigned to a Naia Lowell, assuming you guys care that much in your paperwork," the girl added, realizing she hadn't exactly given the guy her name yet. She didn't really care if the guy knew her name or not, but she figured it'd be mildly important to make sure the right person had the right assignment.

User Image The explosion of pollen
Devote was sneezing, wheezing, and truly suffering from the antics of the ghost pokemon. The boy's face had literally turned red as he struggled to take a breathe that didn't erupt into a sneezing fit. It would take a long time to subside as he was stagger away from the girl and towards his desk as he pulls out not only a bottle of water but two small pills. His hands trembling as he went from sneezing to coughing as he tries to grasp the water on his desk without spilling it as he chugged both down, water and pill.

Finally drawing in a breathe that didn't cause an almost instant spasm of coughing or sneezing the boy would turn to almost glare at the girl, but simply in the end he would try to calm himself down.

Pressing two fingers against the bridge of his nose, he tried to put the consequences in front of his own eyes.

He was already on probation, if he killed a student or her pokemon they might make this his permanent station.

Though it be more of an exorcising with ghost, but either way, there was no way in hell he wanted to be stranded in this prison. So, Devote tried his best to smile pleasantly without showing off every tooth in his mouth ...with a expression that looked more like he was baring his teeth at her.

"Your pokemon is a funny one."

The boy would declare. His voice's pitch would go in an out, as it would seem that his airways were a bit clogged after that.

He would swallow thickly.

"Anyway, Naia it would seem you are indeed a student, so I am to give you your identification card. It lists your trainer rank of 1, and also identify your class and your identity in the organization so try your best not to lose it."

The boy would then go behind his desk and work on the computer there. He would draw up the information about the girl and print out a badge that he would hand over to her the moment it was finished along with three poke balls and two potions he had taken from the cabinet.

"You are to take off for your first mission, because, there is nothing that can be taught to a student with only one pokemon. So, you have the goal of capturing a second pokemon along with retrieving an item from the island. it would seem we had a resort that recently got over run with pokemon, so, you will be helping to retrieve lost artifacts that can be returned to their owners. Any question about any of that?"

The boy would ask as he was deliberate in skipping around important information. After all, this girl and her pokemon had literally just put him through hell a moment ago.

Given the circumstances, Naia was absolutely sure she did not like the smile her 'instructor' was giving her. "Funny's not exactly the word I'd use..." the girl commented, silently agreeing that Garnet's antics had gone a bit too far. Not that she personally cared if this boy died from some silly prank, but she was supposed to stay out of trouble while she was at the school. Killing someone, either a student or a member of the faculty, definitely did not qualify as keeping her nose clean. The last thing she needed was to get in trouble for something that wasn't even her fault.

Once the teen pulled out some items for the girl and started explaining a few things, Naia tried to focus on what the boy was saying while she tucked her new possessions in her pockets. At least he made it simple by avoiding too many complicated words, at least ones she hadn't figured out meanings for before. That Devote kid may have called it a mission, but from what she was supposed to do it seemed more like a scavenger hunt. Catch a new pokemon and find some random object? Even after considering how some wild pokemon could suddenly drive out people - trainers who probably had average, if not strong, pokemon of their own - when everything had supposedly been fine enough for the place to be considered a 'resort' not long ago, it still sounded too easy. It might of been the first mission given, but Naia had been under the impression that this academy wouldn't pull any punches when it came to raising students. Maybe she had been wrong?

The girl frowned when it was finally time for her to ask any of the questions buzzing in her head. "You're probably gonn think they're dumb but yeah, I have a couple of questions," Naia stated as she she folded her arms tightly across her middle. She wanted to phrase her questions so that she didn't sound stupid, but somehow that didn't seem possible to her. "First off, how about a better definition for 'item'? Are we talking something valuable like jewelry, a wallet, or some important papers? ...Or just some random piece of junk spiffy enough that someone might be missing it?" After what just happened, Naia wasn't keen on getting punished or whatever for bringing in something that wasn't quite what the higher-ups were willing to accept, and for the time being she had to consider this kid a higher-up. Her arms reflexively tightened as she asked her other question, as it probably had a simpler answer. "Second... Where do I catch a ride to this island?" At least she likely wouldn't have to ask that question often. Maybe.
