Arriving at the designated location of where the class was meant to be held, Aaron took a quick glance around. There honesty wasn’t much to really see. There was grass, trees, the wind; ultimately it held the infinite possibilities of what he could teach to minds that were ready to learn. Well the first day were just introductions being made and if time would allow him perhaps a quick lesson. It would have to be rather quick since it was unknown how much time could actually be left over after all the intros were said and done. Looking upon the location his eye’s wandered to a nearby tree that provided excellent shade. ’That should do,’ taking long strides he perched himself upon the root of the tree and relished in the natural shade. As much as technology has come it was nothing compared to what nature could provide. Everyone’s past roots came from nature and to reject it, to not understand was like denying a certain part of who you were. Well, the children will begin to understand more about nature through the course of his class and the day when they could go on their own adventure. It was just a matter of time before they would understand the gentle but harsh teachings of mother nature. Now, it was just a matter of time till the students came in and the time where he could share his knowledge of survival.

Tera slowly strolled through the school's campus to get to her first class of the day with her Pokemon closely at her tail, taking the scenery as she did so. The girl observed closely as every gust of wind let patches of sunlight peak through the trees. Sure, there were trees where she grew up, but the ones on this island had different leaves to them which fascinated her. As she neared the campsite, she noticed a man sitting under a tree... and no one else. Did she come too early? A quick look at her watch made her think otherwise. Was he the teacher? She wouldn't be able to recognize him since he couldn't make it to the opening ceremony. Upon closer observation, the dark-haired man didn't seem to be scary and he definitely looked old enough to be a teacher, so it wouldn't hurt to at least ask him. He was in the right place at the right time after all. "Uhh... are you the outdoors teacher?" She asked vigilantly while still being as ways away from him. She still wanted to play it safe though.

Company :Class... Professor Burke, another girl (Tera) Status :Relieved to be on time Wearing :Uniform & a messed up ponytail.
Yet again Evelyn found herself falling out of bed long after her roommate. Rushing to get ready only to realize she still had messy hair. It took several attempts to get her hair into a ponytail before giving up it being neat. There was just no hope for her hair… Sighing Evelyn then raced to the cafeteria grabbed a quick bite to eat before racing off to class which was outdoors of course. By the time she got there Evelyn was beside herself. She honestly thought she was going to be late but it appeared not.
Taking a breath Evelyn collapsed to the ground with her shoulder bag beside her. “Good morning… great morning isn’t it?” she asked both of them in complete relief that she made it. She wondered who all was taking the class. Clearly the girl with the Charmander was, though Evelyn didn't know her name just yet. She knew that Li was taking it so at least she knew someone. If she hadn’t been in such a rush they probably would have walked to class together. That had been the plan the other day. She honestly couldn’t worry about it. Regardless she was there and will to participate with whatever outdoors class entailed.
‘Come to think of it… what did outdoors class entail…?’
That was Evelyn’s thought but she guessed she’d just have to wait and find out. Sooner than later, she knew she’d understand what she set herself up for. She only hoped it wasn’t going to be as bad as what she knew she’d expect in gym class. All she needed was another class that required her to walk, talk, and chew gum at the same time. Okay, so maybe gym class wasn’t quite like that but when it came to anything involving physical coordination, Evelyn was not the girl for the job. Any of her friends back home could tell you that.

Ten, fifteen, or maybe twenty minutes slowly crept along through the day. The wind passing by to keep the man company. Nature was his company till two more students came to the vicinity. One who adorned the Charizard colors while another possessed the Kingdra colors. Two completely different houses that he was neither responsible for. The one who hailed from the Charizard House was a girl with pink-hair cut to the length of her chin. Emerald colors peered at him questioningly as she tried to decide whether he was indeed the teacher responsible for this class. ”Indeed I am,” lifting himself up from the root he towered over the child. How he had forgotten how much shorter children were compared to him. When he was seated upon the root they were roughly eye level. ’It might be less intimidating’ Aaron placed himself back upon the root after a minute of standing up. How long had it been since he last taught elementary-level students?
Turning to face the girl of the Kingdra House he gave a nod. ”Good morning to you as well and to you.” Mr. Burke motioned towards the two girls. ”It is. It looks like none of you had any trouble finding this location.” Commenting on the swiftness of their arrival prompted the teacher to think of an idea. Placing his messenger bag upon the earthy ground he dug through its contents. The man pulled out a clipboard with pieces of paper clipped on. ”While we wait for the others to arrive I need your names to mark you off the attendance sheets.” Digging through one of the side pockets the teacher pulled out a writing utensil.

The girl's weariness dissipated when the man confirmed who he was. She felt a little silly for being so vigilant; they wouldn't let bad people in the school, right? Even as he stood tall before her, she felt no fear; it was quite reminiscent of how her parents watched over her, something like a shielding tower. Strange that she'd make that kind of connection now of all times. Even stranger that he sat himself down once again moments after he got up. An exercise to prepare himself for later maybe?
Just as he sat down did another student appear to sit as well. She didn't know the bespectacled student, but Tera was already warming up to her due to the brunette's friendliness. Not wanting to feel left out, Tera followed suit and plopped herself near them with her Pokemon hiding behind her. The charmander would steal peeks at them every now and again. "Mornin'! Yeah, totes!" She replied with an honest grin. The pink-haired student winced ever so slightly and looked away awkwardly at the mention of finding the place pretty easily, remembering how she lost her way when she first came to the island. To not have another repeat of that, she and Izumi went exploring around campus on that very day. The pink-haired perked up when her teacher asked for the students' names. "My name is Tera Hatano! It's nice to meet cha both mister outdoor teacher sir and doukyuusei-san(classmate)!" She bowed her head slightly after her introduction. Today was going to be another great day, she just knew it had to be!

Ray had a hard time actually getting up this morning. He honestly was still dealing with his sisters death, and just wanted to sleep in. However, it was the first day of classes and he had come to the academy in his sisters place to follow her dream. So he reluctantly got up and got ready for class. He hadn't met his roommate yet, whoever they were had left ahead of him. Not that he cared, besides he'd rather never run into the guy that way he wouldn't have to hold a conversation with him. It was better to just keep to himself, he didn't come here to make friends or anything like that. He came here to learn so he could go out into the world prepared when he did what he promised to do. Rina's old partner, Ray, was now perched upon his shoulder. The small bird pokemon and him had the same name, mostly because his sister had named her partner after him. Ray didn't have it in him to rename the little guy, so he let him share his name. Ray didn't really mind all the much, besides in a way it bonded them a bit closer. He knew that the smaller pokemon was hurting just as much as he was, so he simple changed the spelling of the pokemons name from Ray to Rey. It was simply enough and Rey seemed to like it so they went with that.
After what seemed like ages, the two finally made it to the outdoor class area. Ray didn't really know how this was going to go, considering he rarely spoke as it was. He just didn't have it in him, talking to another allowed the other to get closer to you. Ray didn't want anything of the sort to happen, not while he was feeling like this. He had small bags under his eyes, and he gave off a rather unfriendly vibe. Hopefully everyone would just keep their distance from him, that would be the best. When he entered, there was already quite a few students there. The teacher was also present, which obviously wasn't surprising. Ray noticed the teacher writing the students names down, and before he went over to give his he waited for the others to finish up. Once no one was around the teacher, Ray quickly moved over to him and gave his name "Ray Myers" he said, before swiftly moving to an area away from the others. He made sure he was still within rage of the teachers voice, but he honestly wanted to be alone. He just hoped the other students would respect his actions and stay away from him.

With a writing utensil in hand the instrument crept up and down in accordance with the names that were spoken up. ’Tera Hatano is present……Ray Myers is present. We have half the class present here now. The professor looked up at the sun in the sky, giving him a rough estimate of the time present. ’Time to start class,’ but to be absolutely sure Mr. Burke took a look at the watch on his wrist to read the time. ’Yup, just as I thought.’ Placing his wrist back down to his side the teacher cast his gaze upon the students. In total there were three students present who were on time. According to the roster, six students had signed up for the Outdoors Class. It was a rather small number compared to the number of students he had taught in the past. It became unsure if this was the school’s normal amount of students in a classroom or a new teaching technique. Despite the number it would not infringe on his teaching ability. ”Everyone who is currently present is considered on time. If I haven’t marked you down as being on time then I will try to do so during today’s class. If you have any worries about the attendance then come see me after class and we will get the situation sorted.” Placing the writing utensil on top of the clipboard his gaze was casted amongst the students. Remembering who was here on time and which names he still needed to collect. Unless otherwise noted the remaining three students were considered late. It was just a matter of checking off one name as being on time for class. ”Thank you for arriving diligently on time for class.” His eye’s went to each of his student’s faces and directed his voice to all. ”At this time I would like you to bring out your partners or Pokémon if you haven’t already done so.” Taking out his own Pokeballs the professor sent out his Pokémon. Tropius, Houndoom, and Azumarill appeared and looked towards the students. Each of them lowered their heads towards the students as a sign of acknowledgment. ”My name is Aaron Burke but I prefer being called Professor Burke or just professor. I am your instructor for the Outdoor Class and in case you have come to the wrong class I ask that you silently leave now.” Looking at the students not a single one of them shuffled along to leave. ”Now then as much as I am your instructor these three will also be in charge with your education.” Mr. Burke motioned towards the three Pokémon that had shuffled along to move to his right side, underneath the shade of the tree. ”We will get to introductions shortly but let me explain the purpose of this class. The purpose of the Outdoor class is to teach students basic survival skills for future Trainers. Whether you decide to journey the world or not will rest solely on your decision. However, I will do what is in my knowledge to prepare you all for your travels should you choose to go traveling. Thus it is my goal to ensure that all of you will be prepared for the wilderness than when you first arrived at the Academy.” The Professor allowed his words to sink in and to cast his gaze amongst the students again. His voice was very factual and held a matter-of-fact tone as he spoke. There was little emotion within his speech but it didn’t make his voice by no means boring. ”Now I want all of us to take the time to get to better know all of us. By being better acquainted with one another helps you to better understand your classmates and myself. Acknowledging each other as a classmate instead of a stranger can be beneficial to your grade if some unforeseen incident calls for you to be late or absent from class.” By better acquainting themselves with one another these students could lean on each other for support should the need ever arise. Who knows where their travels would lead or with who. To prepare them for what might lie ahead in their adventure was his duty as a teacher. ”I’ll be beginning class introductions to give you a sense of what I am expecting from the class.” Mr. Burke cleared his throat before continuing his speech, ”My name is Aaron Burke and these are my Pokemon. This tall one is Tropius, the horned creature is Houndoom, and the blue one is Azumarill. I am currently twenty-seven years and come from the Flygon Dorm. Three fun facts about myself are; I grew up in Fortree City where my love for the outdoors grew, I have been teaching for the past four to five years, and I like to eat bananas which is the fruit that grows off of Tropius’ neck.” Mr. Burke pointed towards the fruit that hung off the neck of the 6’7’’ Pokémon. ”My dreams/aspirations are to test my survival skills in all the known regions of the world. And finally what I would like out of this class: Students who will become better prepared for the outdoors. This last part of the introductions will differ for you than me.” Allowing for his own words to sink into the minds once more he gave them a second to comprehend the task. ”Who wants to go first or I can call you all out in alphabetic order.”

Evelyn wasn’t so sure if she had time to have trouble but then again after yesterday it didn’t surprise her. Rubbing the back of her head at the very thought she at least managed to find the campsite that was located off campus to begin with. Smiling at the pink haired girl she now knew as Tera, Evelyn thought that she might make another friend here. Though, it didn’t seem overly unheard of to the girl when it came to making friends. “I’m Evelyn Chamberlain. Most just call me Eve, though. Nice to meet you too Tera.”She introduced so that their professor could check her off the attendance.
Looking over Evelyn noted a boy that had a small bird Pokémon with him. He seemed depressed but she didn’t want to bother him about it. He wouldn’t have sat alone if he wanted to be bothered. At least that’s what she thought. She could respect his wishes. Turning her attention back to the Professor as he spoke, Evelyn was interested in what the class was all about. First thing was first though… “Yamask out you go.”She said tapping the button on his pokéball releasing him from it.
The ghost Pokémon looked around curiously as if checking out his surroundings. However, he didn’t seem to make any sound at all as he did this. Looking over at Tera’s Charmander he seemed to smile at it before looking over at the three Pokémon that were sent out. Evelyn thought the three of them were rather unique in their own way. She figured one was a grass type, one was a fire type, and the other was a water type. That was her most logical guess at least.
Listening to Professor Burke’s introduction and then the purpose of the class, Evelyn already felt nervous. Surviving the wilderness, that wasn’t an easy thing to do she imagined. Though her parents spent most of their time in the ruins that didn’t mean she learned anything about surviving in the great outdoors. Though Evelyn was more than willing to learn, she just hoped that she didn’t go messing everything up.
After Professor Burke’s introduction, Evelyn figured she’d go first, after all why not. “I’m Evelyn Chamberlain, mostly go by Eve or Evy. The silent ghost there is Yamask, he doesn’t talk much but he’s real sweet.” She introduced before going on to more about her. “I’m a Kingdra member. Born in Violet City, moved to Solaceon Town when I was five lived there ever since. My parents are archeologists and they spent most of their time in the ruins outside of Violet City and Solaceon Town. Thus I spent a lot of time out there with them. That’s where I gained my interest with ancient artifacts and Pokémon.” She said taking a breath before mentioning her dream. “Oh and I also like observing Pokémon and their behavior. Which is why, I want to be a Pokémon researcher and maybe even discover a new species of Pokémon.”
Smiling Evelyn had to think about the last part. What did she want out of the class? “For the last part… I guess I’d like to become better at handling myself… for when I travel on my own. Truthfully I’m kind of a klutz.” Rubbing the back of her head on that one, Evelyn hoped she hadn’t completely messed it up.

As more students cropped up to the campsite, Tera got more and more excited! Class was going to start soon and the girl wondered what they'd be learning first. Not to mention that the students around her were going to be her classmates, therefore they'd be around each other for at least this semester which meant that they could potentially become her friends as well. While she was waiting for the class to start, the pink-haired student's eyes caught a boy speaking to the teacher while he wasn't surrounded by other students. He then sat himself far from the others in class, prompting the girl to tilt her head in confusion. It couldn't have been fun to be all alone like that. Well he wasn't really alone, with him being with that cool bird Pokemon of his, but still he was just as new to this place as everyone else was and it would be lonely to face it on his own.
Tera wrapped her arms around her legs, waiting in anticipation as she subtlety rocking in place, all while intently listening to the teacher that stood tall before the class. As professor Burke went deeper into his speech, the little girl's eyes couldn't help but glimmer in excitement. She had learned a few things about survival from her family camping trips, but nothing as official as this. She finally had an environment where she could test the things she learned without the fear of getting seriously hurt. And with someone as confident as professor Burke, she had no doubt in her mind that the class would go without a hitch. The girl oohed at the sight of the Pokemon the man released, especially at the horned Pokemon; she had never seen one of that species before.
After Evelyn had introduced herself to the class, Tera raised her hand high, volunteering to be the second one to do so and turning herself to face the class. "Hiya everyone! Name's Tera Hatano and this here is Flare the Charmander" She motioned to Flare, who continued to hide behind her, when she spoke of her. "I live in the Charizard house. I love camping! I go camping every summer with my family in the forests near theVerdanturf town ... Well used to... Hehe..." She said while awkwardly rubbing her head. 'Used to' since she was living here now. What else was there to mention again? Oh right! Her dream! "Oh! And my dream is to see and meet all of the species of Pokemon at least." She didn't care much about capturing and training; it was more of the discovery of something new and exciting that made her want to be a Pokemon trainer in the first place.

Josh swatted at the brush as he wandered through the path. He wasn't sure how he ended up off the path, but he'd eventually found his way back. He considered using Tatiana to trample some of the brush, but he was worried about thorns. The Saurian pokemon, for all her scales and tough appearance, could be rather spoiled and childish. The thought made him smile, maybe that was why they got along.
He eventually came into sight of a group of other people, panting slightly. He recognized one of the group as the girl from his own house, and he offered her a wave before turning to the older man in the group, figuring he was either the instructor, or knew where the instructor was. "I'm sorry I'm late! I'm," Josh paused to take a breath of air, "I'm Joshua. This is outdoor class, right?" He asked, looking around again. His gaze lingered on the large winged Pokemon, but he waited for the man to respond. Nervously, he walked over to Eve and smiled.
The professor’s writing instrument fell down on Miss. Chamerlain’s name and checked her off as being present and on time. Three out of the six students were present while the other half of the class whereabouts was unknown. No message had been received by any higher ups to notify him of any absences or sickness of any of his students. ’Possibly nerves could prevent them from coming to class. Considering that all of them are ten or eleven it is not surprising that they could become homesick. Again, these are elementary aged children and for them to be responsible enough to take care of themselves could be asking much especially on the first day of school.’ Flipping the attendance sheet were pieces of line paper. His gaze looked up to the first volunteer, Eve, and gave her his full attention. Miss. Chamberlain gave the impression that she was a bright person with a bright mind. A girl that followed the teacher’s instructions well and would cause the most minimal of disturbances in the class. He kept this in mind while she continued to speak. After her introduction he wrote on the piece of paper notes and comments about the girl. It was his own assessment of the children along with their Pokémon. ”In this class I will assure you that you will most definitely get a better understanding of you and your Pokémon’s limit, along with your strengths as well. Miss. Hatano was far more eager to divulge information about herself. The Charmander at her side was rather shy as it hid behind the girl, away from the other’s gaze. Yet maybe she was a bit too energetic, she didn’t hit off the points that Mr. Burke had desired the students to go over. He wrote this on his assessment of the student. ”As you have some experience with the outdoors I may call upon you to hold a few demonstrations for the class. Mr. Burke wrote something down on his clipboard. "And what do you want to learn from this class, Miss. Hatano?” He wrote a few more things and while doing so another of his students arrived to class. A male student who came in adorning the Kingdra House colors. He addressed himself as Joshua so the professor looked back at his roster. ”Joshua Warden, correct? You are late.” Filling in his name within the attendance sheet Mr. Burked looked back up at the boy. ”This is the Outdoors Class and I am the professor, Mr. Burke. We are currently in the process of introducing ourselves to the class. You are free to introduce yourself to the class now. Tell us your name including your Pokémon’s, age, dorm, three fun facts about yourself, dreams/aspirations, and what you would like out of this class. I recommend bringing out your Pokémon along with your introductions.” Flipping back to his assessments of the students Mr. Burke began jotting some information. He looked up at the sky to notice that more time had passed than what felt was necessary. "It doesn't look like we have much time to finish everyone's introductions today. It looks like we have room for one more but that depends how quickly you can introduce yourselves." He looked up at the sky and then to his watch. "If no one wants to volunteer in the few minutes we have left of class then I'll dismiss class a bit early."

Josh offered another apology for being late before pulling out the pokeball that held Tatiana. He let her out, and she stood next to him, gazing interestingly at all the other pokemon.
"My name is Josh, this is Tatiana. I'm eleven, a member of Kingdra house," At this point, Tatiana started nuzzling him, though he wasn't sure if it was to comfort him, or to make him even more nervous. Josh studied the other pokemon in the area, and the pokemon associated with each, before continuing.
"I uh, I spent a lot of time rock hopping with Tatiana back in Hoenn, my favorite berry is a leppa berry, and I don't really like spinda..." He looked to Tatiana as if she might have anything to add.
"As for this class... I'm just hoping to be able to do some things we couldn't back at the dig site." At this, Tatiana had started to furrow the ground with her feet, and Josh nudged her. He jumped as if in surprise, and let out a cry.

"Aye! I'll do my best Professor Burke sir!" She said with a hopeful look in her eyes and an eager grin on her face. The girl was more than happy to help in anyway she could to make the class fun for everyone, she just hoped that she wouldn't let him down.
The pink haired girl pondered for a good while, wondering how to answer the question the instructor had just given her and completely missing the fact that she had forgotten to answer this question in the first place. "Hmm... I would like to... Oh! I would like to test the stuff I know and learn all that I can about survival in the wild!" It was a pretty vague answer, but she thought she got her point across.
She sat herself down once she finished and listened to the boy who was late give his introduction. Only after she hear a repeat of the things that Mr. Burke wanted stated did she realized her mistake. 'Whoops! Oh well... Can't do anything about it now, hehe...' She thought to herself while rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment. Her focus went back to the boy speaking when he mentioned that he was from Hoenn. She then wondered where did he live. Maybe they were near each other? Looking at him with curious eyes, she wanted to ask him after class was over.

Mr. Warden brought out his Pokémon. It was revealed to be Tyrunt that would later be known as Tatiana. Jotting down more notes about the tardy student Mr. Burke kept his ears attentive to his introduction. Much like with Miss. Hatano the boy missed one of the essential questions he needed to answer. Writing down more information about his students Mr. Warden’s introduction came to an end. ”I will guarantee that you will learn much more than when you first arrived.” As he was writing one final thought about the boy the boy had let out a cry. Mr. Burke looked over his clipboard at the late student. ”Is something the matter?” His voice was plain and factual, it didn’t necessarily hold the emotional component to express his concern. His attention swiveled over to Miss. Hatano as her enthusiasm struck through this early morning. Her statement seemed, more or less, to restate what the purpose of the class was. ”As your Outdoors professor I will make sure that you have the essentials to survive in the wilderness.” Jotting down a couple of things in his clipboard the professor finally placed his writing utensil back into his pack. The Pokémon at his side had all remained attentive of the introductions. They were quite, well that wasn’t so much strange for Azumarill but there was a purpose for their quietness. ”That is all the time we have for class today. Now, I’ve kept notes about the ones who have introduced themselves including those who are present and not present in class today. “ The professor stood from the root of the tree and looked over the students. ”As you are aware this class is to prepare you for the outdoors should you decide to venture out on a Pokémon journey through any region of your choosing. As such I want to know where each of us stand when it comes to surviving in the wild. Your first assignment is to write down the essentials to surviving in the wild. What do you need to survive is more along the lines of what I am looking for in this assignment. And with that I conclude the first day of class, you are all dismissed. If any of you have any questions you are more than happy to discuss it with me after class.”
