Roses are Red,
Violets are blue,
I kissed a bird
And thought of you.
Away it flew into the sky,
I pretended not to cry.
I waited a week,
Didn't hear a peep.
A month went by,
Not a feather in the sky.
A year or two
I waited for you.
Then three and four,
My heart grew sore.
Before to long I locked my door
And dreamed of how it felt to soar.

Description:
I won't bore you all on how this came about but I would like to mention it's a Lyrical poem and as such it's like a nursery rhyme - Best sung and sung happily. (Because most my poems are creepy like that...)
This is the first poem I've submitted and honestly it's because I never thought to.....But anyway, I would greatly adore comments critiquing it! If you love it, why? If you hate it, why? I really don't care if what you say is harsh, but I would like to know how I can improve. - Date: 10/17/2012
