A New Year

• Description: I couldn't make up my mind about the title, thus it is not the best.
  It is not New Year's Eve right now, but I felt like writing about that incident, painting that picture in a poem.. I hope you can see what I mean, and any suggestions/advice is welcome.

Flashes flying as high as the stars
Amplifying explosions touch the air
Awe inspiring tapestries of fire
Designs created by magic
Keeping still just a moment
Vanishing
Misty smoke sailing by
Reeking of gunpowder
Inhaling peculiar smells
A shiver down my spine
A wrinkle in my nose
Vicious rockets lift off all around
Commencing their artwork
An orchestra without the music
The night lightens with a glow
A new year has begun.
