Tall and pale and proud
I model here for you
when you manipulate
and recreate
my silhouette of oak,
I form a scene
for your brush and hand
as a puppet of your bidding.
A blank stare
from my featureless face,
and you create an original piece,
of a copy of my image.
You move the light
from my artificial sun
and my shadows expand,
casting themselves across the surface
of the stage I inhabit,
as a thespian of sorts.
But now my job is done
and you put me back away
to create another masterpiece
on another day.
