The calm before the storm
Seems to be the sound of your voice;
The light of your touch,
The taste of your lips.
I should have known I'd fall
When I suddenly wanted more.
Now tears become my dearest friends
And you aren't here to shoo them away.
Now I'm no more than a fly
Buzzing in your ear,
Aching for your attention and devotion.
Life unfortunately goes on;
But these days crawl by so painfully
When I know I'm not on your mind
And you're constantly on mine.
Touch me one more time,
I've almost forgotten what it feels like
To be truly adored.
Kiss me one last time,
The taste is like heroin.
The darkness in my head
Screams at me for a little light.
You, my dear, are a beacon
On the edge of this terrifying storm.
Guide me into your arms
And brighten the darkness inside me.
Chase the midnight away
And be my sunrise, my silver lining.
Now, where is my beacon?
