she left gliding swiftly on rigid wings
my heart sank as she chased the sun away
over the horizon to see new things
I look out hoping she comes back one day
the days are dismal, and fog clouds the sky
I stand waiting on the continents edge
though it was planned it still seems so awry
I'll wait till I die I solemnly pledge
the wind snaps angrily and sky grows dark
and yet I still vow I will never budge
where water meets sand I stand on my mark
thunder, lightning, the sky holds a grudge
its prized possession, it misses the sun
I agree, days have never been so dun
