Dear mom and dad,
how are you guys?
oh you know me
smoked, way high
I got a new tourniquet
for my reopened scar
Its really neat
tighter then the last
I close my eyes
and breath in deep
Oh chloroform,
you always put me at ease
I zip up my jacket,
take a few swigs,
walk out the door
at two 'o six
I thought I'd heard you crying
as I went outside
I think I heard you praying
demanding reasons why
I know what you want
The American Dream
a job and a house
and a wife for me
a good paying job
a sweet nice car
a little friendly golf
and some extra cash
But as for me,
what can I say?
These lies that you feed
don't seem to stay
So maybe I've had my days
were everything stays as good as it seems
but we know enough,
its not the American Dream
So save you prayers
And save your lies
for the next person
who stands in line
For every single plea,
for every single scream
of he who fell in love
with The American Dream
